Kylie is so underrated as an actual SINGER. She does not lipsync, you can tell she is trained and knows her techniques on stage. She knows her craft despite her voice not being the whitney houston/mariah/J.Hud style she a vocalist
@@burburchacha She's a show girl. She dances, she sings, she acts. She's not the worlds best singer but she's not suppose to be. She's like Britney ,Madonna, or Janet. But something she does well is stage presence, and she knows how to entertain a crowd... There's lots of GREAT Vocalists out there that do not do as well as her on stage confidence wise.
Kylie's headvoice and falsetto is highly underrated, its INSANE. She is a tiny little munchkin and her chest voice reflects that, but the head voice is sooo crazy beautiful.
Only men have falsetto, for women it's called "head voice" (voix de tête in french). it's the highest you can go when you're soprano and it's not so different from the middle range like it is for a man (it looks quite different from the "normal" singing and talking voice range of the male singer).
I often wonder how she takes care of her voice. I mean, she talks a lot on her show, she basically talks for a living, she also sings these really hard songs on the Kellyoke, when she was on The Voice she sang there too, and now she is promoting her album. It's insane.
Wow love this interaction Kylie has a great higher range love her head voice and falsetto and Kelly is a juggernaut and one of the vocal greats of our generation.
She hit E6 in Love So Soft during her Carpool Karaoke and several other times during her concert, idk if she’s sung higher though! Idk her lowest note either.
There are videos of Kelly’s range out there. She hit an E6 in Love So Soft! And she can hit very low chest notes as well. I’m guessing she’s got at least 3 octaves in her range.
Kylie's range is E3 to B6 including head voice which puts her in the pop mezzo range with a soprano extension into her exquisite head voice. Kelly is roughly an F3 to B6 and possibly a little higher when she pushes it which makes her a Mezzo soprano too. However the distinct differences between the two come in the form of how 'heavy' their voices are. Kylie is a lighter Mezzo often called a "lyric mezzo" where as Kelly is a "Dramatic mezzo" capable of belting her notes from her bottom end to her mid chest. You've only got to look at the pair of them to see that Kylie is so much more delicately formed to see where the vocal power may differ. Although both are Mezzos they are very different Mezzos in the way they use their voices. Kelly being more like Christina Aguilera or a young Donna Summer and Kylie being more like, well Kylie. There's never really been a Lyric Mezzo in pop before Kylie unless anyone can enlighten me otherwise, which is why she is so unique.
Saw Kelly live at Shoreline around ten years ago in the Bay Area and she was amazing. She even did a couple covers (which I love that she continues to do on her show). She is a powerhouse performer.

Haha I don't know why singers don't like to tell people their vocal ranges. Mariah, Kylie and Kelly here all refused to say, even though we are all certain that they must know
Exactly! They have to know because they most probably do scales up and down their register when warming up, and singers I bet are very conscious of what their voices can do, how high and low they can reach when they have to perform, plus the tessitura of the songs they do and the new songs they record.
I think they refuse to be placed in a box with a certain limitation because some days they can go 3 octaves but other days they can go 7 (I'm just throwing numbers here hehe). And on days when they are a 3, the public might use it against them and say: oh but u said u are a 7.
@iskandarhossein4563 good point..one of the few times I saw an artist show off their range when asked is Christina Aguilera when she was on carpool karaoke. James asked her about her range and she did vocal scales to show how high she can she can sing.
@@iskandarhossein4563 yeah, I get that, that makes sense, but it’s not like people are holding them to hit every single note of their range every single time. Voices are delicate and there may be days that a few notes can’t be reached at the top or bottom ends, but when that happens it’s not like they lose a full octave. And usually the tessitura of a song is maybe two to two and a half octaves, with exceptions of course. Trained singers on the average usually have a three and a quarter octave range give or take (others as we know have a couple more octaves and others who are not trained or don’t have a lot of technique have less).

lol I think a lot of talented professional vocalists, no matter the genre, downplay their amount of knowledge to seem modest and I agree it is kind of strange. I know Kelly keeps a vocal coach so there's no way she doesn't know what her tessitura (comfort range) is, which I'm sure is what Kylie was referring to when she asked what her vocal range was.

How boring would it be if everyone sang and sounded the same. She also sings live at her concerts. Why do you have to compare her to Whiney or Mariah or Kelly? It's funny how singers never truly tell their vocal range. Also Mariah never did and explained it like Kelly. I mean I get that it can varies but I'm sure they know on a perfect vocal day what their range is haha.
LOL singer to singer, when they don't want to tell the truth, they say " i donnot know mine, but what's yours?" or "it changes"... Professional singers surely know their normal range...
It's quite odd that neither of them have a remote idea of their own range..? As a singer I find it weird. At the very least you could say "2.5 octaves", "3 octaves" etc. Obviously people rarely use their entire range during their career but you gotta have an approximate idea. Without the "it changes during period" BS. Come on, no one is asking you to perform your widest range when you're in a hospital bed, either. But if you've ever done vocal exercises (which they must have!!) with a pianist, you gotta recall some of your lowest notes etc...
