This reporter was totally respectful, good job
That's bcuz he is Dean Richard. One of Chicagos finest film critics. Works for WGN News here in Chicago. A good man
I was shocked, usually news people and interviewers are assholes who just try to pry information out of people but this man was very respectful.
@@skylander5116 thank you, never seen him before.
I didn’t watch the video yet and I thought this was sarcasm
Thanks to CZcams algorithms and a little bit of mary Jane I'm here as well 😂
What a respectful reporter.
Isn't this the reporter who interviewed Mel Gibson?
A gentleman. That’s how you treat someone that’s dealing with grieving without just trying to get any emotional reaction from them

you sure about vin? im sure he aint bad but off camera or off movie he tends to get odd.
Yeah even though they look like gangsters.
He didn’t walk off the interview he just needed a moment to get himself together, I hate it when people caption articles/videos etc wrong just gives everyone the wrong idea with what actually happened.

Matthew Skoblar watched this video 3 years ago and I still remember something about being bullshit. Seems I was right
Yep he just needed a minute to gather his emotions
LuzianGamer 134 exactly right and then he’s able to to continue on with the interview and it’s very mature of him to do so.
@@matthewskoblar5230 yes he's brave to continue to talk about him
The reporter is trying to make talking about Paul easier
Big clap for him 👏🏻
I really enjoyed it ,vins reaction when the reporter said about the memories carrying comfort made me heart warm ,he was so responsive to it and u can tell he genuinely spent good times with Paul, rip paul walker
Damn. If all journalists and reporters were like this guy, the world would be a very different place.
Well done, sir!
I was just about to say the same thing your average reporter would milk the crap out of that hoping that they continue to cry while asking questions that way they could have a interview that they could have a memorable interview.
Totally. 💯
What makes this reporter good is he sympathizes with vin and doesn’t ask calculated questions. He in a sense jumps on with vin and says I feel sorry for you like it was my loss type of way even if he didn’t know Paul personally that you can tell he cared
Dude baits him for an emotional reaction from the start. Kinda scummy
WGN Chicago is great. Dean is the best
What an awesome interviewer!
Very respectful and caring!
This is the second time I’ve watched this interview. It’s actually incredibly well done. Interviewer doesn’t push, he doesn’t force the conversation. He shows great understanding and kindness and acts more as a friend than an interviewer. My hat’s off to him for showing Vin and his friendship with Paul so much respect rather than acting as a journalist and trying to force something more.
he was being human, we need more reporters likes him.
WGN this interviewer needs a raise. this is the type of news reporting I like. thank you
kamille seven ah you never know with reporters n shiet he could have just been trying to expose vin to open up a new headline story "VIN DIESEL DEPRESSED!!!!!"

I find interviews cringe when other reporters try to feed off the person getting interviewed but this one was down to earth and I smiled right through it, big up WGN news

Wow this interviewer is a class act, not only did he not milk vins emotions but he turned it around , reminded him of the beauty of his friendship and asked him about what beautiful memories will live forever with him?
Excellent gentlemanly way to conduct the interview . Really great. That alone shows you the integrity of the interviewer . God bless him

How can anyone dislike this interview? Should Vin have no emotions? Whenever I watch the Paul tribute at the end of Furious 7, I get a tear in my eye. Because, Paul and Vin’s brotherhood friendship reminds me of losing one of my best friends three years ago. He passed from a massive heart attack at only 45. Nobody saw it coming. Strong as an ox, healthy as a horse. He left three daughters behind. We always called each other brother. RIP Paul and Dave.
Honestly, I don't think they were friends. I once crossed paths with an individual who looks like Van Diesel. He snapped his fingers and attempted to grab me. The dude treated me like a dog as if I was at his beck and call. Street harassment.
I love this reporter
Dean Richards was maybe the only reason I didn’t hate having to wake up at 5:30 for school every morning lol
He's a sweetheart
Dean Richards deserves a lot of credit for this. Amazing, heart felt interview.
Vin went from shedding tears to being so happy talking about helping deliver the baby. These movies he’s so serious so it was real nice to see him just get all ecstatic.
Vin genuinely cares about Paul, their on screen friendship was as close as their off screen. You can see the hurt in his eyes even behind the sunglasses
Am I the only one that thinks Paul looked looked angelic at the end of the movie?
Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad Not 85%. More like 60%.
Paul had more than a third of his scenes done.
It's been reported that it's 85% mate.

It doesn't matter whether you have a long life if it is totally empty. Life is like a bucket and the more you fill in it (experiences, friends, family...) the more interesting the result gets. He had a good fullfilled life and did a great job on helping many- so he did everything right that he could.

I sense that his relationship with Paul was very close & tight friendship I think apart him died after he lost his best friend you can tell he wasn’t the same.

Everytime time I get emotional about Paul walker's death I look at the bright side Paul had successful life he had great friends, great fans who adore him, he had a daughter who adores him, he had 30 year successful career in Hollywood; he gave back to the community, he had a genuine heart and he found a way fulfilled his longtime dream of marine biology that he missed out on as youth not a lot of people who died had an opportunity to do these things before their death
Stephanie Musse That's a great way to look at it. He was truly blessed. Most of us will not achieve that in our lifetime. It still hurts because of how great of a person he was. Thankfully his legacy and charity will live on and hopefully inspire more people to do the same. RIP Paul.
Are people mourning paul walker or brian o connor? Because the world knew brian and he was a amazing character but paul we didn't know. We journeyed with brian not paul. Paul's body gave life to brian but it was Brian's life we experienced, brian's pains and struggles, Brian's life, not pauls. Sorry paul but it's brian who we bonded with - most of us never knew you. It's not unnatural to mourn a fictional character it's still loss but i think almost everyone is confused as to who they are missing. For me i bonded with brian and when paul died by extension brian died. I was rooting for brian but his story has come to an end prematurely. Its a confusing transference or association etc.thag we project brian onto paul.
He also slept with underage girls all the time. Good guy.
That makes it worse because he had so much thwn hes just gone
ding dong that’s what I don’t get either lol I don’t see how ppl can make an emotional attachment so strong to a person they never met that it makes them cry like wtf how sensitive can someone be?
Props to the reporter. He is paying attention to how he’s feeling and allowing him to have a break when he needs it
I remember sitting in the theater watching this movie and the last clip with his brother CGI'd into it. As the movie ended and the tribute started not one person left early. We all sat there and paid our respects to one of our idols. You got me into cars Paul, I've built friends off of it, learned things I never could've imagined without your inspiration. Rest easy brother.
it's incredible how vin and the rest of those involved with the franchise were able to connect us to Paul. When Paul passed, it really hit me. I've never met or even seen any of the cast members in person yet I really felt it when Paul left us. It's hard to imagine how anyone could watch this or any of the other footage showing the cast members grieve and not break down a little. If you're in your 20's or 30's, you practically grew up with the franchise. RIP Paul.
A wonderfull interview and some real class shown by the interviewer. I know others have said this, but it was such a refreshing thing to see a member of the media actually respect the turmoil Vin is going through as a mourning friend instead of a milking machine and scooping tears. Just the fact that they cut from Vin standing up and not dramatically showing him walk off shot gives me the genuine impression that they respected he's feelings instead of milking them. So again, props for the interviewer and my biggest condolences to the Walker family and those close to him. I hope Paul is remembered for the man and humanitarian as well as the movie star. He deserves that. I hope he is driving he's Supra or he's MINE's edition Skyline somewhere.
This interviewer is amazing, great job man. Such a nice and genial interview/conversation.
He didn’t walk off the interview 😂 he was asked by the interviewer if he wanted a break. Your title makes it sound like he walks off and doesn’t come back.
Absolutely, alot of people just wanna start crap. When this interview was done it was still pretty fresh. So of course he's gonna get emotional. I just get frustrated when random people put anything possible just to get view's or likes. It's disrespectful when they do that

Man, I miss Paul Walker also, I hardly ever cry, and I know celebrities have passed away before, but Pauls one was the only one that got me so emotional, When i saw that white car pull up next to Vin i knew it was Paul, and when they went separate ways I knew it was the final goodbye.
SouthWestLegend Yea, it was really hard. He was so sincere & caring for others. Most celebs are all about fame, but Paul was about helping people all over the world. It always hurts more when the good ones pass. FF7 was their best movie, awesome action & moving story. Some people say it's because of his death, but their acting & love for one another has grown in each movie. I haven't seen FF8, but I'm sure it has less light without you in it. The world has less light without you in it. Thankfully your brother will carry on your legacy with your R.O.W. charity, but it will never be the same. We will never be able to forget that infectious smile & beautiful soul of yours. RIP Paul. You are truly missed.

Incredible interviewer. Tackled the subject with professionalism and kindness and I think by asking vin about his memories, really helped him get through the moment.
his last words on the interview were really touching, just from how he took a break to speak because he couldn't describe it perfectly and ultimately ending it with a "I just hope hes watching" to express the blessings and how much he wanted this movie to do good in honor of him.
This might have been one of the best interviews. Thoughtful and provoking
So heartbreaking, Paul was truly an Angel. The bond between the Fast & Furious Cast is amazing!
great interviewer to help him out like that
This was an excellent interview, and very respectful of Vin's loss.
Just watching this now for the first time and I have so much respect for the way the interviewer handled this. I’ve seen a lot of interviews where the interviewers have simply just dropped in a question about Paul because they know they’ll get a reaction and people will watch and that’s kinda sad. This was a great conversation and I really felt it
Gotta echo the love for the interviewer, Mr. Richards. What a nice and warm hearted chap. WOW. I am loving this. We needed this and it provides a lot of hope in an otherwise dark world. Thank you!!
We r blessed to watch this kind of interviews. You can see Vin is feelin wide opened, honestly, dont hide cryin, in same time talkin about Paul but also about birth of his child. There is no drama made for publicity or just pure business interview. This is one of the reasons why i like you Vin. You r a honest man and have no problem to be who you are. Your emotions are true and Im realy realy sad for Paul in the first place, for his family, but also for you and entire FF crew. Im so close to cry when i hear over and over again "I just hope he's watching, you know". Ok here it goes ...
It just feels so painful to see Vin's face. I mean, he's literally using up all his energy just to smirk! His facial expression is fluctuating, in ever alternate syllable, his face slightly goes into a bawling open mouthed frown, and I just feel so sorry for him. Poor fella, and poor Walker family.

Good job by the reporter. Super respectful with his advice and very nice and caring about it.
I never fucking cry in watching things like this but the F&F crew is simply like none others. Crazy chemistry between this crew. I've watched F&F since it came out and was about 6-7 years old. First real car racing movie I saw, fell in love and saw every movie since then. Will defo go for a whole resit of the movies some day.
That interviewer cares so much, how he let Vin take a moment. Must have been really hard for Vin. Bless him. Bless Paul Walker.
As a huge fan of F&F and both Paul Walker and Vin Diesel, it broke my heart when Paul died on my birthday 11/30. I brought the franchise into my family and had posters of them on my walls. My child is now a huge fan. The name Paul is also big in our family. Paul was a really good guy that I truly miss. I remember him often, especially on my birthday. I hope that there are more men that can be genuine and fun like he was. Seeing how much the cast loves and cares for each other, let’s me know they have a real bond that supersedes just this franchise. My heart hurts for all his family and loved ones. I can’t imagine that level of heart break. I often think about the part in the song “Only the good die young” We never know what’s going to happen. Sometimes the best and greatest people are taken way too soon. Paul was good and no matter what, he will always be cherished by his family, friends, and so many of his fans. I will continue to support his foundation and the franchise.
It truly has been a long day vin love this from the beginning!!
Well said by the interviewer about the memories of lost ones.
A man that had a job to entertain, a man that helped the poor, a man that helped the sick and the weak. This man was more than an actor. He was a savior to humanity and that's the reason we will never forget him and when we heard the news, we were devastated to hear a good man leave us. Will he be forgotten? No.
