The last thing I remember learning for the first time was how good tanks actually were. Yes I legit used navy, airforce, artillery, anti air, economics, electronics, forts and the rest of the entire game before I appreciated tanks. This is due to a single run where I as Iran successfully defended against Iraq who had 4X the force because he used tanks to invade me. From then on I always thought tanks were dog shit and the noobs I always encounter using them didn't help.
The reason why you were able to fend off tanks as iran is due to mountains. Tanks are bad in mountains (slower and weaker) so yeah
@@Bislo Yea I didn't know that at the time so I just blasted the tanks to bits with arti and swooped in with infantry.

Yea I've managed to invade big countries like Brazil and America nowadays with only 6.4k tanks and 5 attackers against millions of their troops. The troop death ratio is almost always over 10 times in my favour which is lit.
@@s.c.p-foundation6923 I remember invading brazil as russia with the U.S. and U.K. now I thought that i'd play support role. but these guys acted stupid so I just made 10k tanks and landed. Ofc this brazil sent 7million men after them. Even tho I had attackers I thought that I was screwed but I only lost like 3k tanks. (must've been to jungle spec.)

That last part happened to me as I was about to form Mongol, north American dropped my stability, sent a wp and left, and before that all I needed was Manchuria(because they became independent)
But as I fully integrated the rest of the needed land, I took all land, occupied until the insurgency leader died, then annexed to reduce my war exhaust from occuping all of Asia. The, as a Russia player who joined after the old Russia player who gave me Siberia, tried to invade Australia for uranium mines. But as Australia was allied to me(who was yuan by this point) Russia was screwed and Australia let the war go on so I could form Mongol, which I did
that reminds me of when i was almost about to form mongol and someone invaded me and scorched all the cities they took and wp and stuff declared independence and i quit

I actually self tsught myself how to play the game. It was a confusing game, but eventually became nothing but instinct
Same, I tried to do that with hoi4 but no. The only thing I learned from you is sell elec and I kept playing as Denmark then switched to UK and learned tanks and industry then swapped to Netherlands and learned navy and then later on learned airforce doctrines mili groups and much more.

I self taught myself rise of nations, (this was before the tutorial) it was at a time where the players weren’t selfish… I miss those times…

This is so true i've been playing for months now and the first time I beat germany as Poland it was the greatest thing ever than I beat china as mongolia twice in the same server eventually forming Mongol its a struggle but this game is absolutely amazing.
When I first played I didn’t realise I got completely invaded and continued playing as that country for an hour before realising I couldn’t do anything
When I first joined, I played australia. I was clueless I had no idea what the hell I was doing. then I get a justification from japan. I had no idea how to even RoN so I was like "JAPAN PLS NO INVADE I JOINED THE GAME TODAY" but he just ruffle stomped me anyway.

I still vividly remember my first time, I was playing as the Philippines and I had no idea what to do, i tried to build roads, but that didn't work so i just left, after thst i played as Australia, thiugh i didn't really know what to do, the first tike i actually ever conquered a country was when i was playing as algeria against the AI Iberian Union

Here is my version: you find out about this game and you decide to play it. You ignore the tutorial and go back to the lobby. You join a server or just press quick join and click on a recommended country or a random country. You dont know how to peace a country and get a war exhaustion. You find out about trades, factories, terrain and trades so you say "this game is hard" but you continue, learning and watching tutorials on things that look impossible. You are angry because countries doesnt have equal power and the stronger wins, so you GET STRONGER. You make your own defending and attacking strategies such as entrenchment and capital attack and attempt on getting a title to show how powerful you are. You learn from your mistakes (playing as china failing a naval war against Usa) but at the end you realise that you still have a lot to learn...

this is exactly how I got good I just kept playing and watched a tutorial on how to do some things and I’ve beaten a germany player recently
I remember when i first started out, this is some what relatable I played the tutorial and had NO idea what to do i was retarded and did not see the message in the corner saying i had to pick russia, from there i did what is asked and them played the tutorial again and make 1 mil troops and wondered why i was deficiet and why me increasing my tax laws was not doing anything and why all those countries were declaring independence, so this is kinda relatable until i watched a tutorial video and began playing and i got better and now im ok at the game.
The first time I defeated germany was as Switzerland and I was so happy lol

I played Afghanistan as my first country, as that is where my parents are from. I invaded india with spectacularly no knowledge, no nothing. Just troop spam. Surprisingly I had 12 billion at the end and i didnt form at all 💀💀💀

my first time playing it: i choose canada and request alliance with the us. then us goes to war with mexico and i wasnt even invited. i went to mexico. nothing happened so i went back. i didnt use control to make an army. i just did it one city at a time - now: i choose the other countries more often - i know how to declare wars - i know how to select cities faster - i know the basics of this game - i formed the russian empire and i have the tsar title - i have 32k xp - i only played this game for 2 months lol

started playing 2 days ago, everything about being good is extremely unrelatable. apart for the part where i beat germany as poland, and i unlocked the us now! (4 days after this comment was posted) oh and the only reason i won was cuz russia justified on germany LOL but i would've probably still won cuz the uk was helping me and my capital wasn't going down

when i was new i played as madagascar and was in deficit and debt the whole time didnt know what trading was had a bad economy AS BRAZIL i made tons and tons of tanks but they died cuz of oil shortage and i lost literally ever war and when i had low stab i asked what to do and someone said make civ’s lol so i filled entire brazil with all civ factories that didnt work and my stab wasnt going up then i rq’ed then i came back after a year or sm and now im quite good

But then they attrioned when going through alaska and greenland got rekt also was dissapointed I couldn't play as USA. I would also player in old servers with one person because I thought it would be easy to play in but sometimes I saw people who had the entire world
