    I got my Beretta SP1 sporter as its was dirt cheap(1380 pounds) at a sale at the time, have extended the stock wirt a pad and added external titanium choked that made the balance more rear heavy. And that made it perfect for me. Its availble with ajustable stock also.

    I’ve had all 3 in various models sold the 525 new sporter problems with the trigger sticking 2nd shot bought the new beretta SP1 great gun trigger far better than browning and it’s heavier gun I’m 6’2 fits perfect Also have the miroku mk38 new model only in trap configuration also a fantastic gun My view is the beretta&miroku are better guns for the money than the browning Good video

    I found this very informative, thank you. I wish I had found this channel before buying my first gun (second hand) last year, as new to the sport didn't really know much about different manufactures or the difference barrel length can have. Went to a gun shop as opposed to a gun school and think they just sold me an old gun they wanted rid of a Webley 912 28", not knowing and had heard of Webley in the past thought it was a decent gun and parted with my cash. Long story short, turns out after a couple of lessons the gun is totally unsuitable and too small for me and the shooting I am doing. Now looking to buy another more suited for my needs. Have you reviewed the Beretta 694?

    The Brownings are actually manufactured by Miroku except for the Belgium guns. There are slight differences that make me prefer the Miroku branded guns. New Miroku's are not marketed in the USA. They occasionally show up on the used market however. My "go to" skeet gun is a 20ga Miroku Mk70 sporter with 30" tubes. I also own a 20ga Browning CXS which is very similar to the Mk 70. Both "made in Japan" by Miroku.

    I 100% agree with trying the guns. i've only been shooting for around 6 months and when i joined my local gun club they have an ATA as a club gun. I do really well with and found it a decent gun, that was until i started trying other guns! i started trying other club members guns and what i found crazy was i was hitting double the amount of clays when i started using Browning and Beretta. I thought the ATA was a great gun, but as soon as i started trying others i soon realised the ATA isn't set up for me and just wasn't right. you can think something is great for you if it's all you have ever known. i was also so shocked that just the change of stock length could increase my accuracy by 50%+ too. I am yet to try a Miroku though and can't wait to get my hands on trying one!

    Love your channel. Thinking about learn to shoot clays (I'm based in the US), so these discussions are helpful. Couple questions if i may: 1. Would these 3 be considered for a first shotgun or a 2nd or after? 2. The nearest outdoor ranges are between 30 and 80 miles from my home, whereas there's an indoor range (no trap or skeet, mainly rifles and handguns) within 5 or 10 miles from my home. Should i start with the indoor range to help ensure my initial learning and interest in having it become a hobby (and to possibly pursue a license) or try to go straight to outdoor? Thanks for the content.

  • @Blondejam
    @Blondejam Před rokem

    I tried the Beretta but found it too slim in the feel, the pistol grip was too slim for my hands and the gun did not suit my frame. A nice gun do not get me wrong as I hit as many with the Beretta as I did with a 725. The 725 suited me better with the palm swell so I bought the 725 although it was a sporter. A year later I tried an MK38 Trap and it did me well and I love it especially with the full hand forend so I got that as well and love shooting with it. Dave is right it can be a lump after a while but well worth a shoot. The cast and height of comb suits me well. Anyway good luck and good shooting guys and cheers to David for the video!!!

    Thanks, David. It would be great if you could talk a little bit about trigger pressure and control. Are you really pulling back hard on the trigger? Have you done a video on triggers in general? I got the Browning and i do ok with it but i come from the semi automatic world and it is taking some getting used to. Currently im hitting 67-75 out of 100 clays with it in tournaments and I had been hitting 80-87 clays with my beretta a400 sporting.
    I think its the weight difference. The beretta is a bit lighter and i also have a mossberg 940 field that i shoot with that is even lighter.
    The issue i have is i got a torn left bicep and the over under stresses my arm with the weight.

    Very interesting video. Comparing the data on websites of Beretta and Miroku, the weight for the Miroku MK38 is 3,5 Kg. On the Beretta website you find a weight for the 686 Silver Pigeon Sporting of 3,6 Kg. The facts do not refere to your expierence. So I have to try Beretta and Miroku.

    ....Bought recently a brand new silver pigeon 686 to replace the cheap & basic Vercar "churchill" hunting gun that I use for clay shooting....the difference between them is huge, & i'll describe it like that : the vercar is like a brick & the S.P. is like a hammer, both can hammer a nail, but the SP is the right tool to do it.😉

    I once made the mistake of buying from a gun shop without trying the gun first. I was naive and the bought on price rather than proper gun fit. I haven't made the same mistake again and I recently bought a new Browning B525, after trying a Miroku, a Beretta and a Blaser. I bought the Browning because it was the best fit, and as a result, I've never shot so well in my life! I therefore have to say, in my opinion, that David is 100% right!

  • @dave_724
    @dave_724 Před rokem +1

    i’ve shot all 3 and wouldn’t own 1 of them again without naming it it’s finding a gun that handled the way you want most guns don’t fit me so buying a gun that fits doesn’t always apply if your above or below average height you’ll have to have it fitted i like a fast handling gun with low recoil my ideal gun would have 32 or 34 barrels there aren’t many makes that offer light weight barrels in that length the MK38 is just too much as an all rounder it takes a lot of effort to shoot it.

    • @dg20120
      @dg20120 Před rokem +1

      Absolutely. The Citori didn’t fit me well. There’s nothing wrong with the quality but I’m short and small framed so my eye was too low. I still didn’t shoot much worse with it than I typically do with my semiautomatics. The Beretta I picked up in the store mounted much better for me. I plan to find a range where I can rent one to test it out.

  • @sha6mm
    @sha6mm Před rokem

    I’m looking at Browning 725 Sporter but I’m not into ported barrels, I am also considering a Beretta 694 Sporting but I heard they are cracking forend. I plan on using it for Trap Doubles as I prefer a Remington Auto’s for Trap Singles & Handicap and for Skeet shooting. I also worry about barrels regulation shooting to same point of impact. So is the 725 or 694 the better choice ?

  • @the45er
    @the45er Před rokem +4

    The Browning Citori is a double-barreled shotgun of the "over-and-under" or "stacked-barrel" type, with one barrel above the other. It is marketed and distributed by the Browning Arms Company in Morgan, Utah, and manufactured for Browning by the Miroku Corporation in Nangoku, Japan. -- Straight off a Googled "where are Browning Citori's made?" In essence, Miroku and Brownings are fundamentally the same gun. Insignificant differences.

    I dont think you can compare " medals" when you compare these 3 guns. Beretta runs away with that category. In fact, neither of the other two even come close to making something like the DT11/ or any of the sidelocks beretta makes. You are basically looking at the BEST that miruku and browning make while the beretta is mid range ( maybe lower). Your bias towards Miruku is unfounded. The Miriku is NOT by any stretch of the imagination the best gun on the market.
