- "Don't" is a song performed by Elvis Presley, which was released in 1958. Written and produced by Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller,[1] it was Presley's eleventh number-one hit in the United States. "Don't" also peaked at number four on the R&B charts.[2] Billboard ranked the ballad[3] as the No. 3 song for 1958.
The song was included in the musical revue Smokey Joe's Cafe, as a medley with "Love Me", and cleverly used in the key scene of the 1993 film Dave, right at the moment the President of the United States (played by Kevin Kline), suffers a stroke while making love to a mistress, inside the White House.

There is just something special about this video that i cannot express. Maybe it's just Elvis being so relaxed and having fun. I've read a quote from Elvis saying this was his favorite song that he ever recorded. He's in his element and I love to hear him speak and just talk. I also love this song and the way he is singing it in the jam session, I find it beautiful and relaxing. The world of music really lost something special when Elvis passed away 💔 😢 😔

Meine Eltern waren die größten Elvis Fans. Was soll ich sagen? Ich war 3 Jahre alt als ich den Film blaues Hawai gesehen habe. Heute bin ich 66 Jahre alt und eine der größten Fans von Elvis. Leider hab ich ihn nie live gesehen. Am 16.8.1977 dachte ich die Welt geht unter! Ich kann es bis heute nicht fassen dass er so jung gestorben ist. Für mich wird er ewig leben. Es gibt da einen Spruch den wir Wiener sagen wenn Jemand jung stirbt: Wen Gott besonders liebt, dann holt er ihn. Er muss Elvis sehr geliebt haben. Jetzt singt er da oben im Himmel und seine Tochter singt mit ihm...Don't cry Daddy...❤❤❤❤❤

He is funny, handsome, and so engaging with that absolutely magical voice. We are lucky to have his body of work to enjoy forever.
The band, no fault of theirs, doesn't know this song. Miss chords or hit wrong ones. Elvis still hits the right notes, pitch perfect. Great ear, and of course the golden voice.
They know the song but maybe not his impromptu version. All Elvis’ musicians await his conductorship… after Elvis gets a static shock they were awaiting his direction on vocal… (go to bridge/verse or outtro) Elvis then explains his direction.
This has always been a favourite version for me, it’s so off the cuff…there must be more in a vault somewhere…please God!!

This was so casual because of the cameras there, you just know Elvis was acting up and probably having a hard time taking anything seriously because of the filming lol
Everyone knows how unpredictable he was when there were cameras around.. especially his band.
It's such a crime we have so little studio/ rehearsal footage because what we do have shows just how precious those moments were.
Bts E is absolutely fascinating and watching him interact with people is always so real and steals my heart away.

That song captures the way I think most women want a man to feel about them, especially the last verse. Forever missed. Met you in Germany when you joined the Army. My dad worked for CIC in the Army and lucky for us knew the little building you were at. We were the only people there. Gave him a kiss on his left cheek as he was leaving. Same year he met Priscilla. Saw him in concert many years later in 1977. If he only knew how much he is still loved by so many.
