Star Wars was always meant as a tribute to older sci-fi serials and pulp comics, so this works perfectly with 50s aesthetics. The only difference would probably be that Luke would be 35, since youth, especially during the rise of "teenagers" were seen as too rebellious to contribute anything of worth.

Oh yes, i remember these classic star wars movies well, when they came out in 1952, it was opening night, i had just got my new winged tiped galoshes and i talked dad in to lending me his desoto, so i could take my sweety gloria to the drive in.... but seriously, i was actually born in 1969 and never got to go to a drive in, but its nice to imagine😊😊😊

Just one problem: Star Wars wasn't called "A New Hope" when it was first released in 1977, it was just called Star Wars. The Episode IV: A New Hope subtitle was added for the 1979 rerelease. And Jabba the Hutt wasn't seen until Return of the Jedi.
And Yoda didn't appear until ESB.
