I was in the audience of "The Judy Garland Show" when Liza made her very first TV appearance ! I was 14 and she was 17. So I feel like I've been in on Liza's career from the very beginning. I will be there to the end.

Liza Minnelli is one of the best at telling a story with any song, if not THE best. She smokes like a fiend and can still belt it out. And the love between her and the audience is amazing.
We will never see an entertainer like LM again. I started seeing her in the late sixties, so she holds a special place in my heart, that's for damn sure.

Thank you so so much for posting this, Liza clearly loved appearing, and while being frail she only did one song, so she was not overtaxed and she was bathed in the love of her fans. I bet this is exactly what keeps her going. She loves performing. Everyone was very careful with her. Thank you all so much!
Liza is Liza!..despite the years of struggle with pills and liquor..She's manage to deliver stellar performances each time, for her legions of fans the world over!..She's one of a kind..An icon, a true legend!..❤

She’s still got “it”. She’s so vulnerable and sincere. To hear the goddaughter of the amazing songwriter sing this song in her 70’s is beautiful history and legacy, not to mention still lovely.

Ira Gershwin
Ira Gershwin is the godfather of Liza Minnelli and he and his wife Leonore Gershwin hosted Liza's early birthday parties at his home at 1021 Roxbury Drive in Beverly Hills.
The music was written by George Gershwin, and Ira wrote the lyrics after his brother’s death, I believe.
I believe Frank Sinatra was Lorna Luft’s godfather. Lorna is Liza’s sister, right? I’m no expert, just think so from reading.

TALENT IS TALENT ! It always hurts to see ledgends slow down, or get old. I remember when I was once introduced to Gene Kelly and his wife in the lounge of The Penninsula Hotel in Beverly Hills, back in the early 90's. It was so hard to watch him use a walker and need assistance moving around after all those decades of moving so smoothly in films. It always breaks your heart.

Was never a huge fan, but saw Liza With A Z @ the Kennedy Ctr back in 1972 and she killed it. Her years of excess have caught up to her. Barbra is older chronologically, but physically and vocally decades younger. Michael is a great friend!
Well, Liza also had some severe medical problems. Not to mention the years of heavy and intense choreography also contributed to her current frailty. People also just age differently 🤷♀️
I think she wants to do this no one’s is forcing her.

Could be from the decades of drug and alcohol abuse.
She has viral encephalitis, which is swelling of the brain, and there is no cure for it. As it progresses, she may lose her ability to speak.
She has worked incredibly hard and dancing takes a heavy toll on knees and hips. Plus she partied hard, she is also an alcoholic. All of these things take a heavy toll on her physical health. However, she is genius live performaner, singing a song and communicating a lyric isn't really dependent only on the voice.

She has viral encephalitis which is incurable swelling of the brain.
She’s had knee and hip replacements due to decades of intense choreography as well as a near death experience with viral encephalitis that ravaged her physical and motor skills. She’s been through quite a bit, physically.
