- With the release of Bumblebee, the sixth live action Transformer movie somehow we take a look at the first game from the series, The Transformers on the Commodore 64 from 1986 and Transformers Devastation from 2015. One of those is great and the other one is a terrible game from 1986.

Jayfive276 yes but if you’re literally a plane then a fear of heights is basically the same thing. You need to be up high to fly in plane mode

Fear of flying is fear of flying, fear of heights is being anywhere significantly above ground level. i.e. being higher up while being the torso section of Superion.

Devastation is a beast game. I loved it and was sad a sequel never got developed after seeing the after credit scene in the game. The animation is beautiful as well. I wanna go replay it now
The ending is a reference to the Combiner Wars toyline that was part of the Prime Wars trilogy. The toyline also had a cartoon series on go90, but it's considered bad. You can watch it if you'd like to. The trilogy had two other installments dubbed Titans Return & Power of the Primes.
Prime dying in the G1 movie didn't bother me as a kid, because I'd already seen him die once in a really stupid way in the G1 comics. Ordering a human to blow up a bomb implanted in Prime because he accidentally killed some NPCs in a virtual reality computer game. No, I'm not kidding.

Budiansky's early stuff like Warrior School was great but he went downhill. The UK comics were thankfully far superior and had some bold storytelling.

There was a Commodore 64 Transformers game by Activision's David Crane (Transformers: Battle to Save The Earth) where you would deploy multiple Autobots to different locations. This is probably why that wiki page for the other game mentioned that you control them "one-at-a-time". He didn't do his homework, though, as he had both Hot Rod and Rodimus Prime as separate characters in the game.
Where I'm from in this country called England we have a 50ft golden statue of bumblebee in our capitol city. He's a national hero to us. Ask any Englishman they'll tell you

That 2004 game is probably about transformers armada series where they were fighting over minicons, not energon. Also they replaced bumblebee with hotshot for some reason

The DS transformers game is incredible by the way. Scan and transform into anything you want in a wide open-world space. It was absolutely awesome
If you had First Aid (the ambulance) you actually had Defensor's arm, not his foot
Defensor was a Scramble City style, so any limb could be any other limb.

You guys should check out the Transformers 2007 ds games. No word of a lie, both autobot and Decepticons narratives are better then the 2007 movie, with the Decepticons narrative being really good. Downright chilling Starscream.

What a TOTALLY SHIT COMPUTER SYSTEM. Thank the whatever flys around the sky protecting Superman from religious zealots that this monstrosity called a Zed Exxxxx Spectrum didn't come out in the states. In the 80's just prior to owning the NES, my dad was a huge computer geek and was a pro on the Apple II systems. Hell he even drug me and my brother to the program cracking (they would get a ton of guys, all in the US NAVY too lol, who owned games or programs, then crack the copy protection, and trade each other copies of brand new games). I honestly didn't know that games were even sold in stores until after we got the NES system and cartridges were the medium. 5.25" floppy discs with notches cut out the sides and handwritten labels were what I had, thousands of, my dad still has ALL OF THEM ... rotting away, never to return to the light of day.

Umm actually G1 refers to all the Transformers from the series and movie. They just killed most of the original characters bar Soundwave, Jazz, Cliffjumper and Bumblebee.
