More than a proud dad, I'd say that's the joy a nerd gets when someone is amazing at the thing he's passionate about. Think about it: you spend years learning to sing, studying music, leading beautiful operas... and one day you meet someone you'd absolutely love to sing with.

@@pabloliva87 When Floor sang that first song, it probably put Henk more at ease with the show. I am sure he wasn't expecting anyone on the show to be a fan of opera, but Floor was specifically a fan of Henk's. I am sure he felt humbled.
He later said he was particularly moved by this performance because his mother used to sing it when his parents were still together. Of course it was a wonderful performance, but also it brought back happy memories of his childhood.

@@MP-yf3sy I've seen several interviews within the last year or so saying the same thing...she doesn't really like singing in the "true" opera style (lowered larynx, bigger vibrato, etc) that much. So anyone pining for more operatic vocals on the next NW CD will be like the Norwegian Blue, pining for the fjords :). So watch them prove me wrong lol.

@@Pepenez It is close to the German spoken in the northern parts of Germany but we, in the southwestern part are more familiar with French. But in the written form you can definitely find many similarities so as a German you should be able to read the context out of a text.
@@dazlak69 agreed, I live in the North East part of the Netherlands and I am a dialect speaker. For others outside this region it sounds like a Dutch/German mixture and the fun thing is the Germans across the border are speaking a similar dialect, so we can understand eachother perfectly. Not a big suprise since we are 'lower saxon' too. I guess it is safe to say that a lot of dialect speakers are able to understand Dutch and German on both sides of the borders.

Actually that is not entirely the case Henk Poort already said in the intro he considered it redicilous that is not a household name yet. So atleast he already knew who she was. However it is pretty clear the rest did not.😁. Funny detail she was also the very first to sing on this show. Don't you pitty the person who has to follow up that performance?😂😂

My favorite Floor's performance so far. I see her in her natural habitat!
It's a German song. Even though I'm German I had to look up the lyrics. She just reaches notes so high that it is hard to understand. But once I read the lyrics, I was blown away... she basically sang with hardly any accent at all. Amazing performance for a non native speaker.

@@42earthling dat valt te bezien hoor, aan het Nederlandse Metal publiek ligt het zeker niet, die weten dat we geweldige zangeressen hebben. Maar net wat je zegt er is te weinig podium, en op de radio is het veelal autotune zangeresjes die bij lange na niet in de schaduw kunnen staan van een Floor Jansen of Simone Simons.

Te bedenken dat daar misschien ergens in het publiek een jong meisje stond die later bekend zou worden als een van de beste meest veelzijdige vocalisten.. dit was naar ik begrijp de inspiratie van Floor om in een metalband te gaan.
Ik denk dat er vooral negatief naar gekeken werd en misschien nog steeds word, immers gothic, zwart, duister, depressief en dus als negatief opgevat terwijl het juist zo mooi is om in te zien dat net zo wezenlijk deel van leven is als dat wat als positief opgevat word, zonder water geen maan, Yin yang, één beweging, verschuiving van balans in kracht.

@@vblomb i.m.o. Live wel (en ik heb ze alle 3 meerdere malen live gezien en gehoord; ok Anete maar 1x en dat was echt genoeg). Maar ieder zijn smaak. Maar ik ben wellicht bevooroordeeld want ik vindt Floor echt verreweg de beste live zangeres die ik zelf gezien heb.
@@L.T.L.T.L.T. ik ken floor al wat langer van revamp en after forever zo ik weet welk talent floor heeft en dat heb ik live gezien.en over smaak heb je gelijk daar kan je nooit over twisten om dat ieder zijn eigen smaak heeft qua muziek ik ga ook naar echte opera;s dat kunnen we niet vergelijken,maar mijn main blijft metal van trash tot symphonic
