I have trained in many martial arts styles including muay Thai, karate, taekwondo, ninjutsu, Wushu and Jeet Kune Do and I have to admit after seeing this movie I realised I have alot more to learn. As half Japanese and half Chinese I was really moved by this fight scene. Donnie Yen certainly deserves an award for this role and what's even more cool is that he was trained by a descendant of Ip man in preparation for the role🙏❤️❤️

Wing Chun is purely defense, very rarely would you ever use it in offense. The only way to use it in offense is if you're like at Ip Man's level of proficiency or high-tier level. This style is all about calm and patience even in intense situations. Wing chun doesn't make you lighter or be able to manipulate a little bit of gravity, a shaolin style of kung fu is added to it like we see at 3:14. He also does a shaolin move in the 2nd movie when he hops on that wooden table board without support.

i-pee man... Fitting name for a dying martial art. It looks good, but sadly it's more like dancing these days. All these kung fu type people get utterly destroyed nowadays by proven disciplines. It puzzles me when I see them shocked from getting even a light punch in the face.
