my 79 had the gold stripes in the trim its called a chyenne for gmc and silverado for chevy package
The trim covered up poor masking practices on the GM Factory 2 tone paint, it served no other purpose.
It wasn't factory , only 1977 had the gold color in the trim , it was for golden anniversary for Chevrolet trucks
in 81'my k5 was solid black with red interior and yes it did have the gold painted trim. still have pictures of it.

I lived in WPB Florida when Burt still lived on his ranch, and I was friends with his neighbor and seen him from a distance a few times.
I took a girl on a first date to the Burt Reynolds Dinner Theater in Jupiter Beach. That was the only time I met him, but I seen him on his ranch a handful of times in the early 80's. He definitely had a wig master in the early 80's is all I'll say.
His neighbors son worked with me at Florida Power & Light.
One day this guy was telling me a story and it started with a bunch of kids with evil on their minds that drove a 4x4 through Burt's exterior security fence. They simply drove around his ranch destroying shit.
Now Burt had a pet deer, and he had like a small petting zoo on his ranch.
These evil kids killed the deer and took it with them. All Burt found was alot of blood from his pet.
These kids if I remember right got caught, and prosecuted, thank you Jesus.
That's all I know about Mr. Reynolds, and at this time he had been the Bandit for several years.
That Trans Am you got in the deal, is one of my favorite cars on Earth. It's not my top pick, but it's in the top 3, I would say.
#1) Daytona 500 Superbird 426 Hemi Dodge Charger.
#2) 1969 Mach1 fastback Mustang with a 351 Cleveland.
#3) 1978 6.6 Trans Am.
Then Cuda's, Roadrunners, GOD'S and so on.
I'm 59 and know you ate close or older, I remember those same days.
We buried the speedometer on a 1970 Roadrunner with the 440 Mag. 6 pack, running from the law, in Tennessee, in the 70's.
The cop turned his lights off and went the other way.
But my cousin probably owned the only Hemi orange with black racing stripes, 1970 Roadrunner in Tennessee at that time.
They sent him a ticket in the mail for doing over 100 mph in a 50 mph zone.
They didn't know we were doing 150 plus, but it registered 150 and we went past that mark on the speedometer.
