- My Roland Juno 106 returns and it is like a brand new synth !
The 106 just got home from the "synth docktor" - My step-Brother Richard Henriksen.
And he did a wonderful job with my Juno 106.
This video is just made to share my happines to get My Roland Juno 106 in ship shape again.
NB ! There seems to be to much reverb on my return tracks to the video recordings.. I did not hear that when I recorded without headseth that was routed the same as the recording..so it´s a bit overkill.. but.. I will survive, and I hope you do too :-)

@@GlennMainMusic I just had to have my voice chips replaced. And for what it cost me I debated if I should do it or not. But I went ahead and had the repair done :) It's worth it to me.
@@mixc8 I did the same with my Juno-106 a few years ago. The after-market voice chips cost half the price of what I paid for the synth, but to me, it was worth it.

That synth and that reverb sounds great! Espen Kraft kept his after a studio clearout and I can see why now.I really regret selling my Yamaha SPX90 years ago! It had a fantastic reverb.

Hi, awesome video mate! Just after I bought mine two years ago my 106 was at the synth doc for almost a WHOLE year :(. Corrupt voicechip, both chorusses corrupted, HPF not working (and no replacement available), broken pitch/mod lever, buttons not working etc. etc. I almost cried when I played it the first time. But just like you said, when it came back it was transformed from a howling Shih Tzu into a bass heavy Beast. I haven't found much use for the unison mode though. Seems like the only thing that's a bit crappy about the 106.

106 with a bit of reverb sounds great. I bought one with sound bleeding through to fix, (electronics engineer). Even with the fault you can hear why it's such a great synth.

I bought Deepmind 12 last year, I think it has some Juno 106 patches included?? Glen🙂😅
Oh yes , I believe almost every release back in the 80’s used the Juno 106 / Juno 60 / Juno 6. So the chance for “Gove it up” has that sound (I guess you mean the intro cord sounds) is much lightly 😃😃😃

Yes. All caps on the powerboard & a lot of the caps on the jack/chorus board.

The reverb I use (sometimes over-use) in this video is the “Valhalla shimmer” reverb 😃😃😃
How do you like your red ms-1? Does it replace the SH-101?
I love that synth. I’d never had the original although I tried it lots of times when I worked at a music shop when it was released… but that’s a loooong time ago 😂😂

I think the Behringer sounds great! And for $200. Holy cow. My only concern is, it will break down in a couple years. 😂. I used to own some behringer rack effects in the 90s, though I didn't have any huge issues with mine, I heard others did.

Is that difference in volume or 106 sound is really stronger?
It’s a volume thing… but the 106 is an analog synth… so it might be that it’s a bit more “punchy” 😃😃😃

IDK dude, I was still hearing some noise.
It was actually the noise from the Juno X 😃😃 I checked the recording… and on the juno x you can choose the amount of it.. and that line was “open” the whole time 😂😂🙈🙈but it is not 100% quiet… but very close 😃

There is a little noice on chorus. Sorry.
The noice is as close to nothing as it can get compared to the “original noice”. And I just had to check the recorded tracks on the video.. because I got a bit curious myself… and the wave files shows that it is minimal 😃😃 So it’s good enough for me 😃😃😃

Maybe ? I don’t hear that.. but if you check it with a soundscope or check the waveform I guess ther will be some noise… but for my case it’s not noticeable enough to ruin my experience 😃😃😃😃
@GlennMainMusic it is hard to get rid of.. I have a Rev2, and it's terrible for it. The best I have done is use a little box that filters it off.

🙈 Oh yes.. I do have KORG Kronos , MS20 , MS2000 , Some Begringer , and A good old TX 7 😂😃😂 But I must say that Roland model has always been my “favourite” over the years 😃😃
@GlennMainMusic I have the Gaia, the SH O2, The Roland Jupiter 50, , but my favourite brand is the Access Virus range. Have to say the Gaia is the best synth for emulating distorted guitar sounds

I own both, Juno X all day. Unless you REALLY want an OG. Otherwise, having an X gives you warranty, more sounds, way more sounds, 4 parts, more user storage, FX, much better sliders. Really, the list is massive in favour of X.
