  • You have always wanted to know how to make a real Greek Nescafé Frappé Coffee? Watch this tutorial and you will know. // Sound: iMovie iLife sound effects "breakbeat"
    Edit 2 (2020)
    A greek #Frappé #Coffee is older than the now somehow famous #Dalgona Coffee.
    Edit 1
    Some Greeks at the comments below may have another view wich are the basic ingredients. Like that you need 2 teaspoons coffee and not 1.. and so on... But the truth is, make it the way you like to drink your coffee. If you are a person that enjoy everyday a strong black coffe, go an put 2 teaspoons (or even more if you want). But if you are usually drinking a soft coffee with milk and sugar, it will be definitely to much for you stomach..
    And btw as someone mentioned on the comments: the original frappe was made with a shaker, but today we are using the mixer (it's a lot faster ;).

    I visited Mykonos in September 2017, with my mother and my grandmother. We three tasted the Greek frappe coffee. It was yummy.
    Now, I made myself a Greek frappe coffee, I mean, decaffeinated... and I enjoyed it.

    Important thing about making a good frappe: if you want to make a perfect one, you should pay attention to where your Nescafe Classics came from because it is quite different in various countries, although it is sold in seemingly the same cans. The thing is, it should be spray-dried, NOT freeze-dried as it is sold in northern europe, because it will taste worse and the foam will not be as thick as should be.
    Source: wikipedia, also tested by myself.

      Magda B You need to try harder during shaking or you added less water than nessecary. Maybe with a mixer like in the video you ll get better results.
      My suggestion is at least 2 spoons of nescafe and 3 to 6 spoons of sugar, depends on how sweet you want it to be. I put more than 6 :-P
      Also the biggest possible glass helps, i use the Irish pints of 0.62 lit :D

    • @Pikrodafni

  • @natasa_tai
    @natasa_tai  Před 11 lety

    Hi,
    thanks for your question.
    Maybe the frother is not "strong" enough -> as an atlernative you can use a shaker (like for cocktails), put all the componets in the shaker and the ice cubes -> next step shake until you have a great foam.
    Or maybe the relation between water and Coffee is not right.
    But most likely is that your frother has not enough power.

    I make these at work and it's literally not even a minute. Also a blender works just as good as a mixer, which by the way you never mix till it's solid. That'll create a foam barrier, it makes the drink weak and ruins the sip. You could use a simple syrup aka bar syrup instead of sugar also. The best milk additional is almond with honey or goat milk by the way. I personally never use milk but I have made it with it and it's okay.

    Best foam is made with a more powerfull table mixer. For a hand mixer the mixing should be done in exactly 10 sec and with a table mixer in 5 sec otherwise you will not get the wanted foam which is responsible for the taste. The foam should reach precisely the mid of the glass not lower or higher

    If everyone complaining can do better! Why not make a video so we can compare?

    How can I get that beautiful series of foam with milk? I tried it once but failed obviously. It looked like an iced latte.

    If you want only one teaspoon you should use a smaller highball glass otherwise if you do it like the video you will end up with a watery unpleasant coffee with the sugar overtaking the coffee flavour

    If the glass is wet you never put the coffee first. It will stuck on the walls of the glass and it will melt when you mix it. Sugar always first...

    Do not mix until it is solid because all the coffee will stay on the foam, just mix until it is creamy

    Please redo video, where the single-use plastic straw is not pictured. This can change perception of millions of customers in Greece and Cyprus and other counties, where people drink Nescafe daily and create tons of waste.

    Hm, I'm not sure, but I think the elextric mixer could be a little too big?
    Why you don't test it out and tell us how it turned out?

  • @kpghost7505
    @kpghost7505 Před 4 lety

    The foam should not be so solid, it should be thick but able to spill slowly if you turn the glass upside down.
