This was one for the ages! I finally got out to go camping behind a sign. It took quite a while to find the perfect sign, but it was worth it! There was no view from the highway eastbound lanes and very minimal exposure on the westbound lanes. Basic backpack and general gear. I had a hammock, to use as a bivvy in case of rain, but the weather was pretty good.
Hunkered down and had a blast!

The only reason they got discovered was that they showed their presence to the girls that cut the grass for the city and then they would call it in as a complaint. We used to tell them how to behave more stealthily next time. We’d have them move on and they we’d tell them that we would be busy for the rest of the shift so they can sneak back in.😃👍 That’s life.

I’ve done this all over France, Spain and Italy either on a bike or a scooter. It’s a lovely freeing way to live in warm weather. The trick is to start lookIng for a quiet spot about an hour before dark and only set up a tent in the last few minutes of light, with no torch. Up at first light and off to a cafe for morning coffee and toilet, and wash underwear in the basin. Dry clothes on the back of the bike as you go. Coffee and croissant at a French cafe, in a little market town, with early morning sunshine lifting the mist off the river and the whole day of exploring ahead is one of the great joys in life.

There's a fine line between camping and being homeless. There is also a fine line between tailgating and drinking beer in a parking lot or behind a sign. You walk a fine line.

Steve your excitement when you first got behind the sign was like a little boy at Christmas.

You need a ghillie suit Steve for the close encounters then you can just play dead and pretend to be a bush.

@SR MATLOCK Haha, I like fishing in lakes that have no fish. I get to fish without being bothered by catching one.

Oh people notice. They just don't care. As long as you tend to yourself, don't make a scene and don't make a mess, 99% of people will leave you alone.

Phil Young christ I really don’t get these “I hate my spouse haha life with a spouse is hell haha am I right haha the punchline is I hate my spouse haha” jokes. Ugh. Why get married if you hate your spouse. You should check out his other videos. His wife stays off camera but she joins him and seems to be a really awesome lady who encourages him in what is clearly a passion hobby. AKA the exact opposite of your joke.
