    I got to ride the 2024 T-cat EPS ATAC at the Arctic Cat photo shoot, amazing snowmobile and so easy to ride. The EPS is so good that you forget you're steering, it's almost like the sled just reads your mind. Engine and chassis are perfect together!

    I've rode cat since my infancy of riding. That's just what the cards held for me in my case. I have grown to love cat and separate from the skidoo rev my dad gave me (not running) that's all I've owned. I only have the Suzuki under my belt of knowledge, but that's why I fell in love with em. I had a bullet bike from zuki with inline 4 and man that thing was awesome. Reliable and peppy! That translated even more with the sleds. I kinda wish they'd lighten em up a bit which they have with ctec but I know there's that fine line of light/reliable. So I take the weight. Just wish Arctic cat would listen more to it's buyers. I wanna new cat but I don't wanna single beam. Well I'm outta luck now..... So I've been looking at Polaris which I know from jump a bad thought in the mountain segment of being reliable. They're light, I'll give em that. But it's at a drastic cost of being reliable... Cat please listen to your consumers! We can't afford to lose you. It'll be a monopoly at that point!

    My dad raced raced oval and cross country races across mn in the late 60s and early 1970s on scorpions, super stinger 340, mark 3 400 etc etc. And I dont mean like a single race a season, i mean, a hundred trophys.. a race every weekend or two minimum. Im 42 now, and when i was young, he still had the stinger. Thats what i learned to ride on when i was able to start it myself at 11 or 12. But watching his old races on old movie reels, no idea what format they are, still have them, but watching how they rode those old things back in the 70s was bananas. I see young kids freaking out over clearing a county road ditch banging with 2021s, my dad and guys at 20yrs old were clearing county roads on 1970 scorpions, rupps, artic cats, skidoos, with next to no suspension. Oval tracks equal literal catcher pads on the legs for dragging knees on thr ice, the crappiest open faced helmets. They would cut a plate and extended the ski base out an extra inch on eotyer side, and would run what he called pizza cutters on the skis to help turn it on ovals. The old stinger 340 with stock exhaust topped out on radar in 2017 at 72.4mph. Not bad with a 170lb rider on it after all those years.. its just awesome seeing how far tech has brought sleds, especially since even late 90s 2000s. I was ripping an 02 xc 600sp wondering at the time, how could sleds get any better? And chassis kept evolving, and thibgs kept progressing and here we are. And riding a zrt from that time, to a 2021 u name it, is literal niggt and day. Now go from 2021 to 1970, and is insane. But what they did back in the day, was just a differnt kind of crazy to me. Sure they werent ripping back flips, and whatever. But running the river when its half open, and ckearing county roads and approaches all day long, and riding them like we ride modern sleds to me is just nuts. He ended up donating his sleds not to long ago to a museum here in mn. Forget which one, but if you see a 70 stinger with peterson bros racing stickers on it in mn, thats my pops sled. Sleds came along ways man.

      It is just an option. I think the point of 4 stroke riding is exactly what you mention at the end though. I finally got sick of my 2 strokes, I just want to get some miles in. So far so good, but I just got mine and don't have a ton of miles on yet.
      But those options don't make it any more fun. I'll be honest, I have as much fun riding my 94 Indy 500 as I do my 17 ZR 9000. The ZR is more comfortable, faster, etc. But I could bang around a beater all day and be completely satisfied as long as nothing broke.

  • @Cletus378
    @Cletus378 Před 2 lety +8

    Fastest...maybe, maybe not. No doubt Tcat and SRX are the top of the current lineups. Only thing separating SRX from the Tcat is Yamaha's clutch. It's hard to beat a time tested, damn near bullet proof, clutch system.

    • @1Kurgan1
      @1Kurgan1 Před 2 lety +1

      But it is, I think you are saying "maybe, maybe not" to squeeze the SRX into the conversation. And that's fair, I would say they are the fastest sleds, sure the clutching is different, but they are far more in common that they don't have in common. For all intents and purposes, they are the same sled, you would cross shop them most likely for the best deal. So I would say they (Tcat or SRX) are the fastest production sleds.

    • @Cletus378
      @Cletus378 Před 2 lety

    Call me a conspiracy theorist or what have you but something is going on. I like big HP numbers. What testosterone laden male doesn’t? But I also like those big HP numbers coupled with LOW weight. At least with Rotax’s ability to make a 2 stroke that runs as clean as a 4 stroke why is all the muscle showing up in 4 stroke clothing? Back just a decade and a half ago BRP had a monster 2 stroke 1000 cc, semi direct injected beast with an advertised 172hp. For lake racing crowd why not just improve that motor, ETEC it and be on your way? Lose the weight of the 4 stroke, lose the weight and complexity of the turbo, improve the hp to weight ratio and kick some good old fashioned butt!
