    You may have heard of the Book of Mormon, but you might be surprised what it’s actually about.
    On the surface, it’s a 1,000 year account of a great civilization. But at heart, it’s about individuals striving to learn of and follow Jesus Christ.
    It begins in Jerusalem around 600 BC when a prophet was warned by God to flee the impending destruction of the city.
    He and his family are guided across the ocean to what is now the Americas.
    Their lives can inspire you to have faith in Jesus Christ.
    In fact, the crowning event of the book is the visit of Jesus Christ to the people in the Americas after His Resurrection in Jerusalem.
    Even though it was written over 1600 years ago, the Book of Mormon can help you with the challenges you face today.
    Most of all, you can grow closer to our Savior Jesus Christ and feel His love for you.

    Merry Christmas everyone!!! Thank you Jesus for setting me free. You are the most high. The SON of God sent here so all could have a chance to accept you into their lives, (salvation) to fulfill prophecy, and much much more. I thank you Jesus on this day that we are celebrating your birth. In your Holy Holy name, Amen.

    As christians our faith is constantly being tested. But no matter what we continue to trust in Jesus. Even though it may be difficult and we don’t understand why God is testing us his purpose is to prove that our faith is real. Since covid I fell on a terrible hardship. I lost my job for declining the vaccine. I declined due to my health conditions. I suffer from lupus, and heart disease. I’m now waitressing but not making nearly enough to get by. I’m a single mom, my husband died suddenly years ago. I’m all alone. My children are autistic and non verbal, I’m overwhelmed. I recently started homeschooling them because they were having so many issues in school including bullying. Please pray for me. I’m struggling to pay rent, struggling to buying groceries, struggling to afford the tools I need to homeschool my sons. I WANT TO GIVE UP! But I TRUST in you JESUS. Even as I struggle providing for my children. I will keep faith in God. Faith over fear. Lord hear my prayers. I don’t understand why I’m going through this hardship for so long but I trust you LORD!

      I am absolutely praying for you. I hope too that your church congregation rallies around you and is at your doorstep to help. But if not, come to the nearest Latter-day Saint service and introduce yourself. There will be help there. The ‘pastor’ is called a Bishop - meet him and explain things. We love you, Child. We Latter-day Saints have a children’s hymn that says,
      “I am a child of God,
      and so my needs are great.
      Help me to understand His will,
      before it grows too late.
      Lead me, guide me, walk beside me,
      help me find the way.”
      Thank you for sharing your painful story, ChildofGOD. 🤗🙏🏽

    I love this book. It has brought me more of God's light and love. The Holy Ghost has given me knowledge that the events of this book really happened - thousands of people across a millennium of history in ancient America knew of and accessed the power of Jesus Christ. What a sign from God that His message is for all people of all time, everywhere! And it's a fun read to feel the personalities and strengths and weaknesses of so many in the book - Abinadi's lack of disguising skills in Mosiah 12:1 make me laugh every time.

    Jesus Christ never said that anyone needed to believe that the Book of Mormon is true to get to the 'top level' of heaven.
    He never charged 10% of anyone's income or checked for valid temple recommends at the temple doors.
    Salvation is quite simple.
    Like the thief on the cross, all anyone needs to do is repent of their sins and put their faith in what Christ has already done for them when he shed his blood on the cross, died and rose again. 💕
    A broken and contrite heart God will not despise.
    God bless.

    Did you catch what the narrator said!? He said that the book was written 1600 years ago! That would mean it was written in 424 AD. Something doesn't add up. Especially if they espouse that the beginning of it is around 600 BC.

    • @dcpaulk27
      @dcpaulk27 Před rokem +3

      @@troyfuehrer5067 thank you for clarifying. It is interesting though that since the actual physical gold tablets claimed to be the book of Mormon were never tested or even studied for the language or supposed language rather that it was supposedly translated from, so how can anyone be sure that it was written in the proposed years that it was written? It would be extremely difficult to come up with any specific or approximate dates given that it is in the King James english and given the anachronisms throughout it would stand to reason that some of the dating is way off or the estimation of when events took place throughout it are all together inaccurate.. It's also odd that Joseph Smith copied translation errors that are word for word from the King James version Bible into the book of Mormon. Also, if the plates that Joseph Smith had in his possession were in fact gold they would weigh a ton and it is hard to believe that any one person could have lugged them around especially given how many plate pages it would have taken to put the whole thing together.

    • @garrettpete
      @garrettpete Před rokem +1

      @@dcpaulk27 These are good points to bring up, so thank you! Just to help better understand some of this, the writers of each part of The Book of Mormon had kept their records in an order, noting times of when they had possession of the plates and when they wrote, which helps us to understand when various parts were written. There are also very specific prophesies and teachings within the pages that reflect how long a certain event may be in the future (I.e. the coming of Christ), or how long ago they were. Regarding the material of plates themselves, as far as I understand correctly, they more so had the “appearance” of gold-wherein they were actually made of a combination of metals, but gold being one that allowed them to be more flexible and soft so that inscriptions could be made easier. I’d have to go back and do some research, but I believe that’s what I’ve studied before

    • @kendawgthemasterdude
      @kendawgthemasterdude Před 10 měsíci

      @@dcpaulk27 For time periods, it is all calculated based on the birth of Jesus Christ. For example, 1 Nephi 10 says that Christ will be born in 600 years, so we know that that part of the Book of Mormon happened around 600 BC. There are other parts that say an event happened 400 years after the birth of Christ so we know that happened around 400 AD
      Pretty much the whole Book of Mormon is filled with prophecies about Jesus Christ. Mosiah 3 is a great example, so is Mosiah 13-15, and Alma 34. But like I said pretty much every chapter talks about Christ in some way
