Finally watched it this is an inspiration to all young Zambian even Africans that it is possible ... As a young Zambian I've been inspired by it ever since I heard about the Zambian space program
The movie and the actors are great, but it' s nothing to laugh about. On the contrary. Matha is an albino and therefore in constant danger of death. Due to superstition and prejudice, people with albinism are excluded or even killed because parts of their bodies are said to have healing powers. In the film it also becomes clear in a small sequence that she has no other choice: "So then tell me where else to go." I think she knows that it won't have a happy ending, but it's better to be on the moon or dead than to live under those circumstances.

The real story itself is amazing, (and in some ways quite amusing).
And it happened back in 1964, not 1969. They were incredibly ambitious! They never got the $$$ they needed though.

Zambia got its Independence on the Same year , and i guess space Exploration wasnt an urgent Problem to Be financed By the fresh post colonial govt

I wonder if the far left is going to cancel this film or at least parts of it. It quite effectively spans the realm of the real and the imaged. There is this genuine conflict between the conscience of the young woman and the mindset of her clan. The film is worth revisiting.
