I headed that if it rains on your wedding day that it is good luck! When my hubby and I got married in Hawaii right after we got married it rain for 10mins then stopped, but that does happened in Hawaii, we also had a perfect wedding. I know exactly what you mean by not expecting to love your wedding as much as you did. Our ceremony was in my church and the reception was at the Golf Course. I knew because of photos after, everyone would already be at the reception when we got there. Last minute I asked to go by the reception before we went to the church so I could see it empty and I will never every forget the feeling walking in and seeing how perfect and beautiful it all was. We had a horrible storm that day and it hailed for a good part of it. 10 minutes before we left the hotel it stopped and the sun came out and I was able to take outdoor photos with my parents and bridesmaids and as I started to walk down the aisle you could hear the rain and hail start again. We had 1 little hour of sun in the exact perfect time and 14 years later I can honestly say not one thing went wrong because the rain didn’t affect us at all, it was background noise. Congratulations to you both, enjoy this special time together. It’s easy to think “We’ve been together for so long this is nothing different, but it is. It’s very different ❤️
