- Falcom's music is truly one of their strongest aspects. Every time I think back to the times I played this series, it's always accompanied by memories of certain songs. So I feel like this is the best way to show my appreciation to the series, a massive countdown of all my 100 favorite songs in the entire series, up to Kuro no Kiseki 2. From the most relaxing, to the most intense, to the most upbeat and inspirational, to the darkest and most gloomy, this list covers it all. Feel free to listen to it as you would a normal playlist, and share it around with anyone who might be interested!
Also, yeah, this series lives rent free in my head.

A hard list to make with a series that has 1000+ different musical pieces including remixes and different arrangements, but you did include a lot of my faves (Just in different places). Unmitigated Evil is my fave boss theme though. Azure Arbitrator used to be it, but I just really love the main melody of Unmitigated Evil and how it's very triumphant and bombastic, but passionate and chaotic too and a perfect theme for the fight between Van and Gerard. I'm also a sucker for the neoclassical stuff. Unmitigated Evil could legit be an Yngwie Malmsteen track. You can never go wrong when it's a Jindo compositions with Masaru Teramae on guitar.
As for some faves I would've included which you didn't...The 'super arrange' version of Fateful Confrontation called 'Maybe It was Fated', Exceed from Cold Steel, the Enforcer theme is one of my fave pieces too, but I think the super arrange for that one which plays during McBurn's fight in CS IV is the best version. Unfathomed Force, Perfect Steel of Zero, Intense Chase, Deep Carnival, Step Ahead, Belief, To Grasp Tomorrow.
Just a handful of incredible tracks IMO. Falcom Sound Team JDK are the best in the business, that's for sure, especially when everyone's list and faves are so different from each other, it just shows how much amazing music they have which speaks to all sorts of different people.
I chose not to include arranged tracks or anything that wasn't in the main official OST for each specific game, otherwise this would have taken a lot more effort and time to make.
Unmitigated Evil is definitely an amazing boss theme, and yeah, if others made this list, none of them would be the same. There's so much great music across this series that pretty much any top 100 is valid.
finished. i love this list and agree with almost all of it except that it's missing hard desperation (kuro) and I miss you (cold steel).
Both good songs. They didn't really hit for me as much, but it's just proof that there's so much great music in this series, even beyond my list of 100 (150 if you count the honorable mentions).

Amazing list, was really nice to listen to it while I worked. All 100 themes were great.

How has this been up for over 25 hrs and only has 171 views. Thats a crime! Im up to #24. Burning Throb and Rise of rhe Grendel and Inevitable Struggle would be higher for me but im loving this list! And your trails content in general. Working thru Kuro 2 rn so almoat current!

Okay but for real, the only reason people would ever click on this video is if they search it up beforehand. This is still a niche series, and only the absolute enthusiasts would go for a video like this lol. I do expect the view count to grow over time at least.
Aside from that, I'm glad you are enjoying the Trails content. I don't have any plans to make anything else at the moment, at least until Kai comes out.
With "Spiral of Erebos" all the way down at the bottom, I have to assume this list is in "no particular order". I know, "opinions", but I can't fathom someone putting that song at 100.

I actually found some of the boss music in Reverie to be so mid that I downloaded almost all of the awesome boss tracks from older Trails games onto a thumbdrive and played whatever track I wanted for the boss fights. Seems like certain talent in Falcom were definitely released and the music tracks have suffered. I think I'll be keeping my USB for the foreseeable trails future >_>
Yep Jindo's "Heavy Violence Match" is the only good one imo. "Perfect Steel of Zero" is alright too, but that's about it. I've heard that some of Reverie's music were songs that were previously unused for past games, but I don't know how true that is.
@@LowestExpectations Ah, I can see Perfect Steel as something intended for one of the final bosses in CS4. I'd actually recommend people try my thumbdrive tactic, it adds so much more gravitas to certain fights and customized enjoyability picking appropriate boss fight music instead of just hearing the same one or two subpar songs constantly. Although you obviously don't need to do this for the last boss in the corridor. You let that track rock with blasting speakers.

Reverie has to be my favorite Trails game and the OST is a huge factor and facts @ 4:19:51
The main menu "Now, at the Beginning" is my no. 1 favorite Falcom track
Nice. It's a good track. Interesting thing I keep hearing about Reverie is that some of the music were tracks that were unused from previous games. For it to still have such a good OST in spite of that is just testament to how consistent Falcom's music is.

And apparently the community 'dislikes' Singas pieces in previous games but seemed to enjoy his work in Rev

I finished Sky SC today and I can confirm, Merciless Savior is a masterpiece of a song. Side note: I'm quite disappointed Loewe died. Thought there was a lot of potential for a new found friendship with Joshua. Weissman can stay dead though!

At least Loewe's death makes sense for his character imo. He probably thought of himself as a dead man walking considering everything that happened to him and the villains he got involved with, so he was willing to throw himself into mortal danger to prevent something terrible from happening (Weissman winning).
@@LowestExpectations It is almost unbelievable how many weird technical issues I've had with my computer playing these games. So yep, I'm taking a break but I will play The 3rd eventually.
@@theozziepotato Huh, that's strange. Only technical issue I can remember is the game freezing right after I beat the final boss of SC (which is funny I mention this because something similar happened on stream yesterday lmao).
@@LowestExpectations I actually downloaded Steam just for these games. A few random issues I had:
Widescreen broke somehow
Game randomly closing
Steam updated and all the files flooded my desktop
I had to redownload the game for some reason??
Desktop shortcuts broke
@@theozziepotato I have no idea how something like that could happen, but I bought them on GOG and had no issues, so maybe it's an issue with Steam.
As an Ishibashi fan I'm happy with the top choice. My list would be a bit different since I'm a big Momiyama and Ishibashi fan, but I commend the time and effort put into this.

I was thinking about the Merciless Savior as an option for #1, but in the end I predicted Silver Will. Great list!
My personal favourite is The Whereabouts of Light (full vocals version) but Cry for Me, Cry for You and Merciless Savior are very close.
All great choices. I only have "Cry for Me, Cry for You" in the honorable mentions because I'm not a big fan of most of the vocal songs, but "Whereabouts of Light (Hoshi no Arika)" is my favorite of them. Merciless Savior was a no-brainer for #1 for me though. 😉

Also yes, I know the ''trance'' part probably refers to the genre of music, but it could also mean you're in a ''half-conscious state'', befitting of when it plays.

That's the thing about Falcom music, most of it is so good, pretty much any top 10 or 100 is valid. It's all just down to preference.
