When the spo1 compact exists it makes cz Shadow 2 compact purely a aesthetic buy but kimber raising the price of a gun $400 just to have a rail is just upsetting
I see what you mean, I have both the P-01 Omega and P-01 standard I have upgraded both with milled for red dot RMSC foot print.. I will be buying the Shadow 2 compact because there is a trigger upgrade for a flat trigger unlike everything else I've found for the P-01. I have CGW pro kit with hammer and "flat" faced trigger upgrades..... can't hold a candle to my competition CZ shadow 2 flat face trigger and CGW internals.... i just need it in a carry size now
Nice! I've been looking for a good comparison video on these since I do have the CZ, but found that the Kimber was spec'd so similarly. It looks great!
I own a CZ Shadow 2 compact. The trigger on it is way too light for carrying, and Cajun Gun works will tell you the same! The safety is way too mushy and much too easy to knock off safe. It needs extended safeties like the Shadow 2 full size. Anything that will fit the Shadow 2 full size internally will fit the compact. About the only thing that won't fit are the grips... If it had about a 4 to 5 lb trigger in single action it would be much better. Nobody will say they have springs to fix the mushiness of the safety. You can buy the extended safety levers that are the same ones that the Shadow 2 full size use if you can find them... CZ WILL TELL YOU THE GUN WAS BUILT TO FIT IN THE IPSC BOX. But they also want to sell them for concealed carry.
. I would say that You can throw extended safeties, and a CGW increased Pressure Dentent spring, on the CZ and the secure safety problem is ended. I carry it Cocked & Locked No Problems, and I'm used to carrying 1911's for years.... The CZ is just so much lighter, and shoots so much better than anything in its class... I cal it a competition carry gun. The Bottom line is if you shoot better with the CZ, then that's what you should carry... It could mean the difference between coming home or not.... Just Sayin'
I have both. Have not added an optics to the CZ but do have a Holosun on the Kimber. I bought a kit from Kimber that has the optics plate and co-witness sights! How cool is that! A thing to take in consideration is that the Kimber is noticeably to me lighter to carry. Neither gun has failed after hundreds of rounds.. The video mentioned the CZ had less recoil but might be because the Kimber is lighter? Both are excellent guns!! FYI, I have a number of KImbers and a CZ Tactical Sport.
Damn this is a hard choice. When I added a bigger safety to th CZ it cured the deficient safety it comes with. That KDC is freeking AMAZING, I shoot them the same. Just too darn hard to choose!!
Answer this for me. I see a cheaper version of the kds9c rail pistol but it is a 10 rounder. If i get the 18 round magazine i should be good right. Its like 1325. The barrel length is 4 inches tho. I live in GA so capacity is not an issue here.
Great video. I have been considering the P01 and sending it out to get a slide cut or just going with the CZ Shadow 2 compact. Since you have both with do you like for carry?
Same. Got to hold it today and it's definitely a tad thicker than my S2C. I got medium hands and I felt that the s2c I could grip it firmer and wraps around better on my hands. Kimber looks Great in person and it'll light as heck.
Can get a Kimber custom lightweight with 2 extra mags, holster, mag holster, range bag for $820 currently. Just picked up a shadow 2 compact. Nice little gun, haven't gotten to shoot it yet due to weather.
I am a CZ guy, but the Kimber has a firing pin block (drop safe) where the Shadow does not. I would carry the Kimber over the Sahdow, and I hate myself for saying it.

I have both and shadow 2 trigger is way way better than my sp01 tactical! There both great though! Shadow is expensive thought too
They were only about $200 difference from what I saw...
@@rickstatler5581 I only paid about $750 for my sp01 but my shadow cost $1299. Maybe your talking about that lumber in the video

CZ shadow 2 compact is the way to go. For the $500 difference, you can buy a Holosun 507comp and two extra mecgar magazines.
I have decocked the CZ thousands of times using two fingers without any issues. A decocker is not needed.
You should compare the DWX compact to the KDS9C. I think that’s a better comparison. Nice video guys.

Both are awesome options, currently carry the KDS9C and absolutely love it.
Great video. Literally 2 of my dream pistol's that I'd love to have in my stable.
Great video, lots of detail. thanks for the review.
Thanks for watching!
2 good guns. Great review!

If you are fine not having a decocker on your Cz then there is no doubt the shadow 2 is a better gun.
@@ChamberOneTactical Thanks!
One point to consider is that extended safeties are available for the CZ if that is your biggest problem with carrying it.
S2C ALL DAY! Only thing i want done is night sights. I dnt like red dots on all my pistols.
I dnt use the safety. So that dnt bother me.
I prefer the kimber but 5he price is ridiculous, and the grip is pretty thick.

@@Voltis-5 yep first think I noticed was how lite it is. Then having medium size hands those grips we're huge.
@@johnbuntin7188 if I could change out the grips to a slimmer size it'll be my next purchase or the BUL Armory SaS
So basically put on some Lok palm grips CZ and problem solved. lol 😂
The shadow build and finish for the cz shadow 2...
Nice looking pistol but Too high a cost for the kimber…not to mention addtl money for the plate.
Can get a Kimber custom lightweight with 2 extra mags, holster, mag holster, range bag for $820 currently.

Can also get the gen 1 kds9 for around 1k
La shadow 2 es la mejor del planeta
you can decock the compact
Has no decocker.
@@Speed-shooter Correct, but it can be done manually.

I believe the KDS9 is series 70
@@deanriley4700 You are correct. I assumed that all of Kimber stuff was using their version of Series 80.
Choosing 2 different pistols does not equal a clear winner!!!
You can't decock a Shadow 2 compact? Yikes.
You can't decock a 1911? Yikes.
i manually decock mine every single day, no big deal...
