I think what I like the most about her is she doesn't try to make fancy word play. She tells stories with her poetry but she does it with SUCH a unique voice. it's like she's singing.
I love how she can take simple experiences from her life, and transform them into amusing poems, that don't sound like poems at all. They sound like stories your friend would tell you, or ones you would hear from grandparent. I. Love. Sarah. Kay. :)
The little girl watched her like she had once watched someone when she was little. My favourite element in Sarah's poetry is how she portrays the tiny things in history repeating themselves. The parts of the machine change because they've grown rusty, to be replaced by shiny new ones, and thus, the cycle continues and history repeats itself.
Sarah Kay's words give me so much hope. I can't explain the feelings I get when I watch her performances. I'm in tears this time. Sarah's poetry saves me.
1:35 "Time goes to Montauk to take a break" and 2:04 "Time stalls in Montauk" both dovetail perfectly with other things I've heard about this strange place: Montauk. I think the imagery does well to convey the subjective impressions a child has of a place and how it changes over time. In this way, I have also been to Montauk, my own triple Moscow.
@TheAspergerGuy Depends. This is a place, from what I understand, which hosts poetry slams. On the occasions during which there is a slam, there will also be an audience. As for the always part, that's just something we hope will happen.

Wonderlust to growing up in life but the giggling of the old lady should never miss us in life!! Wonderful!!

"That summer, I learned how to be alone." I remember that summer. That's the best way that thought and that feeling can possibly be said. Thank you.
She is such a storyteller. I love it!
Sarah Kay is just incredible! It was such a pleasure meeting her in person and having a chance to have her talk to me! Very inspiring poetry.

She definitely deserved a bigger applause than that.
Her poetry is like a cross between Norman Rockwell and Longfellow.
