An extraordinarily detailed floor clock with bookmatched olive ash burl gracing the front and sides of the unique swan neck pediment, and a carved urn finial and finial support add the finishing touch. The Hampton Cherry finish is distressed for an aged appearance. The elaborate dial includes raised brass Arabic numerals, cast center and corner ornaments, and a moon phase with exclusive Presidential Collection hemispheres.

Where can I purchase the chains for them and in what order do I set the weights? 😂

Did they stop using brass hinges and brass coated chimes, on president models? I believe the Adams has those features

Really depends on the model. This particular one is finished in a “antique “ look. So it will not have bright brass hardware.

Thank you, Do yo think the older model Adams, like the one pictured in your video, would need a new movement off the bat, one is available in my area, just trying to figure that price in with purchase price?

@@PopPop017 not necessarily, the biggest factors will be age and the surroundings it lived in. IE… lots of dust, pet dander, cigarette smoke.stuff like that breaks down the oil and causes it to become abrasive, which in turn wears it out.
Unfortunately it’s not a straight forward answer, do to all the factors in play.
If the case and all the hardware is in great shape it’s still worth it .
Figure a new unit installed is probably going to cost you around $1000 - 1200.

Hi I've just got my clock that I inherited home. I dont have a key to wind up the mechanism yet but I designed one and is 3d printing right now. I would just like to know how I can find out some information about it. It's a Sligh model 0836-1-AN built in 1989. It's not a fancy model but I cant find any information from a google search. Any insight would be appreciated :)

Do you have any grandfather clocks with a 16 hammer movement in it you can show?

Hey. I've just learned that I'm inheriting a grandfather clock. Do you have any tips for moving them? Is it okay to lay a clock down once the weights and pendulum are removed? How should it be carried?

      1. Take weights and Pendulum off
      2. If Chain drive: tie dish towels around all the chains, hold bottom of chains, slide dish towel up till it is against the bottom of the board the movement is on. ( the idea is to keep pressure on the chains so that they do not come off the gears)
If cable drive: tie dish towel around cables to keep the pulleys from banging on the case and glass.
      3. Pack black chime rods hanging in back of case with paper and/or foam to keep them from rattling. (These can snap off with to much vibration )
      4. Make sure mechanical movement is secure on board.
      5. Typically they can be transported laying down or upright.
This is for a more modern clock. If it is a antique or tubular bell more info will be needed to help you.

Thanks for showing the chimes. Do you have any Westminister clock like the Howard Miller Neilson?
