Deodato travels around the world without his own band. It's clear from some of the live performances on CZcams that he doesn't always get the backing he deserves but this was ideal. The guitarist in particular plays his heart out and deserves the Deodato "that's great, man" look he gets at the end of his solo. By the way, who else noticed the butterfly land on the guitarist's ear during his solo? He did well to shrug that off without missing a beat.

He's all over the top of the guitar. One of the best performances of Super Strut I've seen.
This guitarist is the best jazz/rock/fusion player that I have ever heard! His soloing in this performance is utterly astonishing!

Daniele Gregolin really came through on guitar for this performance - everyone did but he was exceptional in his role! I just picked up a clean copy of Deodato Prelude and Deodato 2, this week! My friend had no idea who Eumir Deodato is, so I showed him "Super Strut"....suffice to say, he's now a fan!

Con todo el sabor de la época HIPPIE, y meneando la melena, este SUPER STRUT de el gran EUMIR DEODATO se voló la barda, (Yo veía los Hippies bailarlo) allá en mi rumbo, afortunados fuimos de haber visto esta época en mediados de los 70 s, tenía yo 14 años hoy en 2023 cumplí ya 61 años de edad, pero no por ello dejare de bailar y ver a mi gran ídolo brasileño. Toda la obra de Eumir Deodato es extraordinaria. Precursor de la fusión jazz- funk. Super Strut un tema que siempre me transmite energía y alegría desde que la escuché cuando yo tenía 10 años de edad, allá a mediados de los setenta.

Saw Deodato for the 1st time at Baruch College Auditorium in NYC around 1976/77...WOW!...The energy coming out that band was a sight to behold, and listen to...His first 2 Albums are Jazz Fusion Masterpieces...John Tropea,Billy Cobham,Will Lee,etc.etc...50 years later and I still listen to them...What a great melting pot music was back then...I'm grateful I was around to listen to and see it!
First heard his music in high school (1974) & to this day still have my original LP’s of Prelude & Deodato 2. That’s when I knew I liked jazz. Still listen to his music in my playlists. At least you got to see him!
I fell in love with this song since it's original version in 1973. I bought the CD, wore it out until it skips, but I will reorder. I would blast this song on my long commute home.
Indeed I can tell you this is one of the greatest guitar solos of all times no doubt about it.. And I'm telling you I have heard the best rated guitarists of rock, heavy, blues, jazz...
That's a pretty strong opinion you've got there. It's a great example of electric guitar solo. I'm curious if you have any specific reasons why it's better that all of the other amazing guitars solos that have ever been recorded. I'd love for you to share (all of) them. =)

Asi es, Radio espantoso!!! Era una de las emisoras de radio del video juego GTA Vice City y pasaban esta cancion. Gracias al GTA conoci a este inmenso artista alla por el 2003. Despues fue solo disfrutar del resto de su musica. Hace poco vino a argentina y pude ir a su presentacion, exelente!!!!

direi nettamente superiore al mitico Tropea...sono passati tanti anni, la tecnica chitarristica ha fatto passi da gigante, Gregolin ha un tono eccezionale ed una grande tecnica. Perfino una farfalla si posa sul suo orecchio a 6:09 per manifestargli la sua approvazione!! Tre minuti di assolo...
e c'è da sottolineare che oltre il grande Deodato ci gli altri che sono musicisti italiani e per noi è motivo di orgoglio, almeno per una volta.... bravissimi 👏👏👏

Veritablement un chef d'oeuvre, alors je confirme, ça c'est de la super musique, le soliste nous rend fou, ce mec, il est super, doué en 73, il aurait remplaçer Tropéa. Deodato n'a pas pris une ride, quant au batteur, il doit etre d'origine Suisse, son solo nous transporte dans une autre galaxie. Merçi les gars.

This really sounds as good as the studio version, considering the small band. I mean this beats all hell out the so-called music now. In fact, I am so glad that I grew up in a time where instrumentals were as popular as vocals. I am glad my dad (rip) was a jazz muscian, who taught us to appreciate great music..real music.
