- DIY VANBUILD # 14: Mercedes Sprinter Air Suspension - SPRINTEK KIT install
This week we install the SPRINTEK Air suspension Kit in our Mercedes Sprinter. Our Sprintek kit will ensure once we add our build weight to the van, it keeps riding at the factory Mercedes Sprinter height, that Mercedes set it to from the factory. This will help improve the Mercedes Sprinter height, handling and fuel mileage. Keeping our Mercedes Sprinter van riding tall and looking sharp...
Follow along by subscribing as we build this 2019 Mercedes Sprinter Van into a overland, off grid, self sustainable roaming machine, step by step....
Thanks for watching, see you next Sunday.

Jeff your a 3 bag man ....
Special
Greg Lautner one of a kind sir!!
Who the F disliked this ?!
Very informative video !
HAHAH there will always be haters! Good thing on CZcams is Engagement is Engagement!!!
So if the air fill was routed to the back of the van and you also added an sight level making sure you have 2 valves, you could air it till it was level as its pretty rare that the sag is even or that the weight distribution is even in a van...
4:28 Yay !!
I am excited to see this finished project. Well done Sir!!
Dan Biggie you and me both!! Thank you for watching!
Wow Jeff “custom built” great step by step 🔥 very informative! See you next Sunday 🌟
Dimity Long thank you, wasn’t sure on this one could have went a couple different ways with it. 😂
Glad you enjoyed thanks for watching.
Looks like it was a challenging build project but you persevered
Was a lot more work than initially anticipated, have done this numerous times on past trucks I owned but the 2019 4X4 Sprinter had changes that the air bag manufacturer had not accounted for... Should be easier for anyone else now if ordered through the Sprinter store as they have it corrected since my job...
Maybe you should put some locktite o the bolts?
I wonder if the rear airbag system will be helpful in leveling the van once camped? Appears so, but you're not interested at the moment Jeff. Now wondering in a future video after you'll make a change to two shredder valves to add more flexibility. (And an on-board air pump.)
Good job
Thank you for watching and commenting!!
DId you consider keeping the air lines seperate so you can raise one side only ?...easy leveling system when parked !
Monitor your rear frame closely and watch out for cracks around the top mount.
Thanks for finding the fit problem with the 2019+ 4x4. I’m trying to figure out if my falcon adjustable shocks with external reservoir will clear this beauty. Mine is the 2020 Revel. How is the ride? Soft or firm or stiff?
How did the air bags work out? Did it help with sway and wind at all? I’m thinking of doing the Agile Fox kit but this looks like it might help
Question... why cut that flange and not completely remove it? I see a bold holding it in to the entire assembly... just wondering!
The flange is part of the bushing attached to the sway bar.. Coudn't be completely removed!
Also, where are you mounting the final air line access?
Hey Julia, check out the trailer hitch video, I show exact placement and install procedure there. Thanks again for watching!!
3.52 Why not remove the flange and flip 180? or put the right side on the left, left on the right side?
Very valid question, I have no intentions of putting the bump stops back on and to remove the flange I would have had to drop the sway bar off the van then reassemble... This was much easier solution with zero downside!! Thank you for watching and commenting!
@@DaresDrives yip, but that hag-saw gave you a workout ;]
@@kennethcroll6972 haha yes you are very correct about that. But with only one person it was the easier route, I think?
You had to work hard for this one but at least your life wasn't at risk (due to ladders) haha... You did a great job of making this into a tutorial video that would be easy to watch step-by-step for another conversion job. Unfortunately, with the clean dubbed instructions, we don't get to enjoy your personality as much
Kurtis Wagner haha yeah just under a jacked up van that’s on gravel. Much safer!! 😉
I really do appreciate that feedback, this was a hard one to edit due to project hiccups. Decided on “practical” value over sharing the struggles. Not sure if I made the right choice. Haha.
One more bad news for this airbags are actually breaking chassis apart. Search youtube.
Nice
I don't like where speartire is
Arthur Quinn thanks for watching. Why the spare tire? Its tucked up and out of the way, seems like good placement to me.
@@DaresDrives it will get rusty
Arthur Quinn yeah I guess that could be a thing. At least it is only the spare tire. Haha.
