i just came back from a four day trip into the bottle.. 6 gallons (23L) of 14 proof (7%)..
i don't even think this is excessive.. im not always a drunk, i go sober for months and then go on alcoholic trips that place me in DT. the ghosts i see gone away but my body and breathing is still NOT ok XD.

That's how doctors anesthetized people back in the day, making them so drunk that they don't notice their leg being sawed off.
So they don't notice? lol Do they wake up with a hang over and wonder who stole their leg?
And then when the effect wares off, brace yourself for the excruciating pain 🙂
I think it was more that they were black out drunk. They still screamed and fought back ( so you needed strong people to hold them still) but they didnt remember it afterwards. It is still used today in some cases. Not by alcohol but with different types of anesthesia. Look up anterograde amnesia. It is a bit scary. It makes the brain unable to form new memories.
They also had knowledge of morphine and stuff in the milk of the poppy plant

I learned from mythbusters, that alcohol makes you feel warmer because your blood moves more internally to protect vital organs, causing your extremities to have less blood flow and be colder. This makes sense to the different wound reactions.
I thought it was, when you're cold/freezing blood goes to the internals to protect them, drinking alcohol causes the blood to thin moving more to your extremities making you feel warmer.

It is actually well established in medical literature that alcohol has analgesic (pain-killing) properties. This video is an excellent demonstration of that fact. You are truly a god among scientists, Dr Jones.

A hot cold compress helps with pain and recovery. Also keep wounds moist whith a antibiotic and covered for a little while. In my experience it really promotes healing. Also keep taking the collagen.

Houston I go so numb when I’m drinking! I always thought I have a high pain tolerance in general and my friends didn’t understand. So I did the weed-eater challenge to the back of the calf and cigarettes put out on my shoulder one night. Didn’t feel a thing. Didn’t even flinch on the weed-eater one.
