This sublime gem was criminally overlooked by radio programmers in 2010. It’s a shame that radio is so resistant to playing music by artists - even superstars such as Janet - after they reach a certain age. Some, including Beyoncé, have been able to overcome that, but even some of the catchiest songs she’s had since reaching her mid-30s have gotten little airplay. I’m glad she got to No. 1 on the Hot 100 with “Break My Soul” at age 40 though. I’d LOVE to see Janet have a return to major airplay. That should’ve happened with this song and with certain standouts from the “Unbreakable” album such as “Night,” “Broken Hearts Heal” and “Should’ve Known Better” or with her Daddy Yankee collaboration “Made for Now.” I’m hopeful that an odds-defying comeback to radio and therefore to the upper reaches of the pop and R&B songs charts will happen for her. By the way, I saw her in concert on 5/24/23, and she was AMAZING!
