I, am NOT, going to lie: I was 100% the target demographic for this show. That target demographic being: kids who like animals and don't really care what's on tv as long as it has a cute animal.
I found the pupper absolutely adorable, and that's all the reasons I needed to watch this show
Good thing I watched the Disney Channel series including this one when I was a kid. If I saw these shows as an adult today for the very first time, I'd definitely hate it with all my heart because they look cringe. But since I saw it as a kid, I can't help but cherish the memories I have watching these shows 😂
I was that demographic
This show was also funny as hell
Yeah, I was also that demographic. Lol!
Hfjdjd same
I like how the kids are so worried to hide that their dog can talk to their parents cause they think they might take him away or something and then when the parents finally find out he can talk they’re just like “Huh, well isn’t that something” and nothing happens😂
It proves they were over worrying
Well it’s been happening all these years so…😅🤷🏾♀️
Also me when I think my mom will overreact: turns out she’s very nonchalant about it😂
That always happens in situations like this.
Kids assume parents are gonna do this but realize that it’s not a big deal, it’s shocking for them but they ain’t gonna do that
@@malayshamorgan3918so that part is technically realistic 😂
Yes and no. The dad did consider for a while giving him up bc “that’s where he belongs” but the kids convinced him to work hard to keep Stan
I really enjoyed this show as a kid. It was so wholesome, and there's just something about a talking doggo that i loved. I used to tell my own pets that they could talk in front of me and I'd keep their secret safe for them😂
I was 100% the target demographic for the show, that's pretty much why i enjoyed it too lol
Same.
You need to watch Wishborne, that's the og show this crap was a copy of
This is so cute I love it
Actually, apparently Kuma only portrayed Stan in a couple of episodes, before being replaced by another dog, Mick, due to disputes with Kuma’s owner.
For those curious: Kuma died in 2018 just before his 17th birthday, so he definitely had a long, fulfilled life. ❤
Mick portrayed Stan mostly throughout the whole show
May God bless em
I was just about to comment this.
Is that why the fur around the eyes looks different
some people gotta take note how alex complimented the red head child without being creepy

Dog with a blog is nostalgic, but seen Alex roast it gives me so many memories and just makes me know how bad it is
I swear he would treat getting called a dog like a slur or something. You ate LITERALLY a dog ??
Agreed, it's weird, but has an odd type of nostalgic charm to it.
Thats with most films/shows of our childhood 😂
How is it nostalgic? It’s not old
Agreed
I'm not ashamed.
This was/still is one of my favorite Disney shows to watch for pure nostalgia moments😊
For me, all Disney Channel shows from 2000s to late 2010s are my favorite just because i grew up with them. Although some of them don't really hold up for rewatchability for me lol
@@4deleDaz33m some don't but some really do hold up like Lab Rats, Gravity falls, Pen Zero part time hero, that fish show with that was like highschool drama or whatever, mighty med ect
This show was my 6 year old life
I do love this dhow
same, this was the last disney show I watched before growing out of the channel so the vibes and nostalgia is peak. Even if the only reason I watched was because hehe funi dog
Dude I STILL laugh my ass off at this show. Stan is the BEST wisecracking animal sidekick in my opinion. And for a Disney show, they did a fantastic job CGI-ing his face. I've seen horrible examples on other shows, but he looked great.
I mean, did anyone see the Cupid episode of Wizards of Waverly Place? Jeez GOD that baby's talking face was demonic.
I’m embarrassed to say this was my favorite Disney Channel sitcom as a kid just because it was the only one that somehow made me laugh😅
Edit: I want to let peeps know that Alex’s video DOES NOT make me feel bad at all and I genuinely enjoyed it. I’ve been watching his content for a few years now and know to take his commentary as jokes (heck, I even make fun of shows I like). My embarrassment comes from negative reactions that happened YEARS ago so I expected the same thing in the comments. As such, it really pleases me to know that there are others out there who enjoyed watching it too.
Agreed, I'm unashamed to admit that it actually got a few chuckles out of me! 😂
My sister was obsessed with that show, and she still loves it so
I meannnnn it happens XD
Why are you embarrassed it was amazing it was my favorite Id do anything as a kid to make sure I’d got the tv when it played
Well this is the only one with a semi-unique concept
I actually genuinely enjoyed the show. Yeah the jokes are corny but they still made me laugh also both Avory and Tyler had a lot of emotional growth and maturity.
Tyler embraced the fact that he's a bit of a nerd and put effort into getting good grades and securing a future for himself (even graduating early), Avory developed an interest in fashion, art and chewrleading and allowed herself to loosen up more. It really felt like these characters were growing up
I rewatched it recently and yeah it's incredibly corny. If I didn't have a bunch of nostalgia for it I probably might find it unwatchable
Anyone remember that awful Nickelodeon sitcom _Fairly Odder_ ? It doesn't feel like a sitcom, it feels like a parody of one. Like they put the genre before the characters, like what _Teen Titans Go_ does, and that's why it's hated. I've seen every single Disney live-action sitcoms and none of them even remotely come close to the likes of _Fairly Odder_ because they're actual sitcoms, not parodies of one.
same
I love the show too. I agree with ya , I felt the characters learning and maturing.
I watched the show for the first time in my early 20s so I don't even have any nostalgia for it, but I agree, it was surprisingly enjoyable. I think Disney sitcoms in the 2010s were at their best when they didn't take themselves too seriously, like Mighty Med and I didn't do it which are both very underappreciated shows. Whenever they tried to be more dramatic or emotional (like Liv and Maddie) it mostly fell flat for me. But this was a show that was ridiculous, and KNEW it was ridiculous. Kinda like Pair of Kings, in that it's so stupid and goofy, but that's exactly what it was trying to be, and the writers didn't try to make it into anything more but rather actively EMBRACED the silliness!
I have to admit the line "knowing you dont want the ball is the first step to enlightenment" made me laugh unholy
It's actually a good show. Also the dog that played Stan isn't dead, it's the dog that played him in the first few episodes that died
15:46 Stan was originally portrayed by a dog named Kuma, the dog that was born in 2001. But he was only used for the first five episodes and replaced with a dog named Mick who was born in 2010.
So, 2 dead dogs?
@@choppa8985 Well, this just became very dark 😳
@@choppa8985 actually Mick might still be alive because some dogs live up to 20 years….

Damn i actually really liked this show as a kid, I was surprised to find out a lot of people hate it.😂
I think most people who liked this show are the ones who first saw it as a kid, myself included. Just like other Disney Channel shows, the shows hit different once you've grown to be an adult 😂
Besides, idk what so hateable about it, it's just a big family with a dog that can talk and make a blog, what's so offensive about it for hate watching 😂
@@4deleDaz33m yeah I loved this show as a kid but haven’t seen this in years.
Same! I love this show and watched almost every episode as a kid!
I loved it I feel Disney had a mild second wave of good TV in the early 2010s like this lab rats liv and Maddie were all really good shows they were running
Pretty sure Jesse was still playing at the time
I loved this show so much as kid man 😭
Whenever it was TV time and Dog with a Blog was on, that was my go-to show to watch and sit through. Being a kid with fresh eyes, the jokes were the funniest things I’ve ever heard. Never failed to crack me up no matter how corny they were ❤
It still gets a chuckle out of me to this day, and I remember crying when I realized the show ended
Amaze.. _tear_

The little girl is pure talent, she does have a diverse range of expression
I remember SOBBING and WEEPING and being INCONSOLABLE when this show ended, I truly loved it so much, it was like saying goodbye to a family member. I don't care if it was bad or questionable, it will always hold a brilliant space in my heart❤

Feel the same way bro loved this show when I was little
I felt the same way when I found out the dog who played Stan died in 2018
Me but with Wishbone

I’m glad a bunch of people in the comments also thought this show was good and it was also their childhood. When dog with a blog ended I was a bit devastated because it was definitely my favorite Disney channel show at the time and I remember every Friday I would look forward to watching a new episode of dog with a blog. I think about a year after the show ended is when I stopped watching Disney channel shows so it really defined that era of my life
Agreed, as muh as we like to joke about Disney, their shows back then were actually kinda decent and enjoyable imo
@@Ditto.007not as much as the shows before 2010

Yeah it was one of my last few shows on Disney channel I watch regularly. I watch Ravens Home sporadically but that’s cause of nostalgia
I have no shame admitting that I loved this show growing up and yeah soon after this show and some of the other shows I loved watching on Disney channel like Jessie ended I stopped watching Disney soon after. I honestly feel like around this time period they stop producing good kids shows and all of the shows I cared about stopped airing. I was honestly surprised to see how much dog with a blog was getting clowned on when I got on the internet. 🥴 Now that was actually a shock.
I honestly loved it! Avery's relationship with Stan was one of my favourite things about it and the parents were fun too
The mom was absolutely hilarious and i will die on that hill
i was a background actor for this show and the dog was really cute and it was very well trained

Based on how he described Avery and the situation of the last episode, sounds like he didn’t watch it all
At most he watched the first & last episode of each season
This was my favorite Disney show as a kid and looking back on how absurd it was actually makes me love it even more 😂
I absolutely loved this show as a kid, because of how insane it could be. I still vividly remember one of the episodes where Avery makes this dress for art/fashion class or something and the whole family somehow destroys it but all their stories end in them standing dramatically over the grave they made for the dress wearing dark robes like a cult.

I am honestly glad that everyone in the comments enjoyed the show as me😭😭 cause the way bro was describing it made it feel like it was worst to ever come out
The episode where Bennett had a job offer or something and Stan/ the kids overheard him and Ellen talking about money, buying a boat or new addition to the house, but they though they were having a baby remains one of the funniest episodes of a tv show I've ever seen 💀
I remember this show fondly. I liked it as a kid, but never really got to watch it completely. Sometimes, when it came to my mind, I got to wonder how it actually ended....yet never could I have imagined the real ending, like, wth were they thinking.
Fr tho, this show was way more corny than I could have ever imagined. I mean saw a yt commentary video of someone saying how annoying it was but damn, never in my 15 years of living would I expect this 😭 but ig that’s just 2010s Disney channel as a whole.
As a kid who was OBSESSED and a complete nerd for animals, this show was awesome for me
This show alongside with Good Luck Charlie, Austin and Ally, Jessie and more basically raised me better as a kid
I remember being OBSESSED with this show when it first came out. I guess my 8 year old brain just thought that a talking dog with a blog was the coolest thing ever XD
This was my favorite show and I was honestly really sad when it ended. Honestly though, at first, I thought it was boring and was kinda like 'wtf' at the title too but then I watched and grew to love it. There was just something so entertaining about it and I would still watch it now though I'm older
This was probably the last Disney show I watched before I became to old for it. I enjoyed it. I remember my mom talking about how much it annoyed her 😂

Dog with a blog is great, it feels like the shows that are labeled as "the worst" on disney channel are always the ones that I end up leaning towards
I think I appreciate this show more and more considering what Disney Channel has become right now
@@4deleDaz33mwhat do mean, a handful of the recent shows of the current years by Disney have been bangers. Disney channel is in a good place in my opinion

I remember watching the entire series when I was in middle school and I loved it, still holds a special place in my heart and I even find some of the jokes funny now might rewatch it for nostalgia purposes soon lol
It baffles me people didn’t like this show. I loved this when I was a child as it showed me that not all families were perfect like every other show I watched. The only bad thing about this show I don’t like is it made me sob because I wanted a pet and never (and still never) got one
I hated this show as a child ngl(I was 12 when it came out). At this point in time I felt like Disney was going downhill and would watch only a few shows here and there.
This looks like a carbon copy of Good Luck Charlie. Even the girl in it played Gabe’s bully/love interest.
This show was great. I can't believe he compared it to Jesse.
@@jakesorrentino7230maybe thats why i enjoyed Dog with a Blog a lot. Good luck Charlie was probably the best Disney sitcom.
I feel like a couple of the dads got some muscle while working for Disney channel. The dad on Good Luck Charlie got a ton of muscle too. They probably actually had consistent schedules for the first time in a while working for Disney and were able to find time to exercise more often. It seems like Disney is pretty organized when it comes to filming their tv shows from listening to some of the Disney podcasters.
I still remember when Bob got in shape on Good Luck Charlie that Disney marketed the heck out of it in those “Coming Up” trailers.
I enjoyed Wishbone as a kid but he was a smart doggy. 😆 and the dogs and cat from the first Homeward Bound. They did such a good job with that, I laughed, I cried, I sobbed uncontrollably and then my tears and laughter joined in delight at the end. They really did a number on you. 😅

Immediate click -- I LOVED this show as a kid xD. As an adult, I have so much respect for the voice actor of Stan... I think there's a reason I'm still quoting his lines even in my 20s. As a kid, the actor perfectly mimicked what I thought a dog would sound like (in terms of cadence and delivery)
Love the new expressions and animations. That one with the chair was fabulous
One of my favorite shows growing up, glad to see it get covered
I really wish the parents knew the dogs secret from the start tbh, it was pretty boring without them knowing and when the dog talked to the parents in secret it was heartwarming like finding out why the mom doesn’t like animals.
Would’ve been interesting if the whole family knew and the parents would talk to the dog about things, and they could still have those heartwarming scenes since the dog hides behind a robot costume.
The thing that pissed me off though was the ending, why would telling your secret not attract people to come to your house? And the government can still go to your house and kidnap you, the ending made 0 sense and felt rushed.
I suppose if you jump the shark in your finale then you can’t come down
I’m gonna be completely honest as a 12 year old slowly growing out of Disney Channel at this time in that 2013 to 2015 era this was one of my favorite shows because it was so bad it was good whereas some of the other options were just boring.
With the exception of Jesse, which I genuinely liked, and that era had the last season of shake it up, which I enjoyed.
That was a riotous wild charge of laughs, this one. Thanks a lot, Alex!
This show will always have a place in my heart, even though I only saw a few episodes as a child.

@@gustykrakenlmaoo I remember seeing the ads on Disney channel for it in like 2014 when I was younger. I barely remembered this show before I watched this 😂
I loved this series but completly forgot about it thanks for bringing the memory back
Gonna be honest, this show to this day makes me laugh more than a lot of others do 😂! I used to watch it with my dog when I was growing up and it was an absolute blast. I’ve even gone back and rewatched it recently which brought back so many lovely childhood memories. Usually in these shows it feels like they make the parents the bad guys, or not nearly as amusing as the kids are supposed to be - but I think this show was able to come very close to how Good Luck Charlie did it, and in some ways I personally prefer it (which says a lot because I ADORE Good Luck Charlie).
10/10 would still recommend this show as a rewatch for adults, or something cute to check out with your kids!❤️
This show was my CHILDHOOD, I will always see it as amazing. Yeah, to start with the quality isn’t great, but as the show goes on it gets better and you really get to know the characters and they’re such a good weird family
So, my comedy pallette might be vastly uncultured.... but I LOVED this show. Stan the dog's comedy was actually funny to me most of the time. And this is one of the rare Disney shows where each character was solidly funny in their own right. (The brother was my least fav but mainly because I'm just not a fan of the stupid+attractive teen boy archetype). Both parents were super solid and funny. The youngest sister was HILARIOUSLY weird. The whole cast was great honestly. The best Disney shows to me are the ones where every character in the family is super well developed and hilarious in their own right. Think Good Luck Charlie, That's so Raven, Wizards of Waverly Place... to name a few. Sometimes on Disney they kind of phone it in with the parent characters and siblings/supporting cast. Or they lean too heavily on overly forced goofiness that it feels super cringe(think, Austin and Ally or Shake It Up). But when they get the whole family right it's just so good. Dog with a Blog has a random, weird premise, yes. But it works somehow because the cast is quirky and fun, including Stan the dog. And I mean quirky and fun in an authentic way, not a forced Disney way. Also, I was a whole college student by the time this show came out, but was still fully enjoying this show lol Do with that info what you will. Lol
This is by no means my favorite show but even I can agree with you. The talking dog aspect of the show aside dog with a blog definitely had a strong casting. The family dynamic is what brings me back to on occasion and is clearly the heart if what made the show worth checking out
This was my favorite show when I was like seven. I had completely forgotten about it, but like a month a go I remembered about it and have not been able to get it out of my head.
idc what anybody says, i loved this show as a kid and watching those clips again made me really happy.
Alex's jokes somehow being 10x funnier than that of the show
It’s Disney Channel, what do you expect?
When this show first came out I unironically loved it because I thought it was hilarious, but then a little bit later there was a scene where the dad just spit watermelon seeds into a bowl for an uncomfortably long period of time (however long you're imagining, it was just a little bit longer) and I changed my mind.
Ew, I hated that part, there was no need for that to be included, and it was not funny at all, just plain cringey.
Fun fact! When I was little and saw this series, I found out psychologists exists! I started to story psychology because of this series and ended up very very good early on my stage and become international.
Since I got a career and my calling due to this series, I am forever grateful to it.
This is one of the most amazing shows
The only episode of this show I remember was when Tyler made an art sculpture and Avery got made and broke it, and Avery says "How did this happen! " and Stan explains it, but goes "Oh you meant that as a rhetorical question. ", and thats how me and my sister learned what "rhetorical" meant 😂😂😂
“No one remembers.”
Oh no, I’m pretty sure everyone remembers Dog With a Blog. They just WISH they’d forget.
Finally! My dreams have come true, Alex FINALLY made a video on dog with a blog!!! My prayers from the gods were answered! Speaking of dog with blog I actually decided to re-watch the show for nostalgia and I surprisingly still kinda enjoyed it.
I loved that show. I about had a heart attack when you showed the cat episode. I completely forgot about that episode through the years and I've recently got into my old favorite show back in the day ,"I'm in the Band." Used have a big crush on Steve Valentine who played the dude granting wishes like a genie. Him and the guy who voiced Stan , Stephen Full we're both in I'm in the Band and played characters I absolutely loved! When you showed Tyler as a metalhead I though the makeup reminded me of Slash's from Metalwolf on that show, and then looked at his shirt.
