  • The Southern California road trip continues.
We pick back up with Mike Lynch and Mario Ordoñez-Calderón in Downtown LA for a taco tour with James Beard Award-winning author, Bill Esparza. They sample local flavors from three different Mexican states: Sonora, Michoacán, and Yucatán. Three stops, three states, three amigos.
After tacos in Downtown LA, it was time for some snowboarding at Big Bear Mountain Resort... but the weather had other plans. Mike and Mario's sprinter van couldn't make it through the blizzard, so our camera crew hit the slopes with local pro, Mike Gray, while Mike and Mario soaked in some sun in Desert Hot Springs.
The following day, our group reconvened at Cabot’s Pueblo Museum to learn about the history of Coachella Valley’s early settlers. Then, they got their adrenaline fix by ripping around ATVs in Palm Springs.
Our story ends back where it all started in La Jolla, where we capped off the adventure with a leap of faith at Torrey Pines Gliderport.
