  • “There are probably some Conservatives waking up … thinking perhaps it would be better if the door was flung open and Suella Braverman was no longer in the Tories.”
    Suella Braverman’s calls for the Tories to embrace Nigel Farage is a “massive distraction” to Conservative candidates, says Jo Tanner.

    Since private school fees aren't being paid by myself or anyone in my family, don't care. It's an issue of like 5% of the total population of school aged children and tax breaks for luxury schooling of the few does not help the majority. I'm sure it must feel like a large issue when you're a reporter, it probably affects your children, or a politician, ditto, but in a country where children are going to school hungry it's obscene to care this much about a subject that affects so few.

    • @cupguin
      @cupguin Před 3 měsíci

      @happytimes6113 Doesn't change how few children are involved. The overwhelming majority of children are not going to be part of the chosen few who are given access to the best schooling in the country. One or two exceptional children gaining access doesn't prove the system works, it shows how broken it is. The fact that the political class overwhelmingly takes advantage of a broken system for their own children, as well as journalists, is why no one is ever allowed to discuss dismantling the system. It benefited them, it benefits their family ergo the system must not change or knows what chaos might ensue. Some pleb from a state school might get a good enough education to become PM. Or all the best paying jobs might not overwhelming end up being the domain of the 5% that went to a posh school. That's practically anarchy if you're a parent paying for your child's inevitable success.

Otherwise they can be sent to Rwanda as they advocate for asylum seekers, just as Prittys parents were and economic immigrants as Bravermans parents were. Nigel Farage is more skilled than the Braverman and Patel should Join Kier Stammer, who is Labor leader just in name, but has got nothing to do with the real labour party and its values. They are both to the right of centre, Farage far right, similarly skilled in choosing policies that target certain category of people to gain voters. They should unite the radicals and form a party called Fringe Flipp-Flopps with Boris at the helm and let Corbyn, the only and real Labour lead the labor party.
