27 year TBI survivor here from a bad car wreck on 3/31/97... I was in the Hospital for 26 days and in Physical Therapy for 18 months... I struggle with repeating myself, poor multitasking skills, poor short term memory, poor temper etc... I attempted and failed at several careers-( Special Education Teacher, Car Salesman,911 Radio Dispatcher)... The Combination of TBI issues,PTSD issues and Career failures led to increased Depression,Anxiety and Suicidal Thoughts... I FINALLY have a somewhat decent quality of life... I FINALLY received SSDI-( Social Security Disability Income ) after 15 years,4 appeals and 3 attorneys... I now drive part time for a Car Dealership and Build Model Cars as a Hobby... These activities bring my life meaning, help me deal with my TBI and PTSD issues, and improve my self esteem ...

Why is neuropsychological testing design in such a way, that the Phd neuropsychologist who administers and interprets the testing is not able to tease out the differences, due to a lot of symptom overlap from ADHD, PTSD, PCS, or brain damage caused by the TBI or exasperated pre existing mental health conditions? 🧠🤕

the helper people--doctors, counselors etc.--are worse than the injury and the disease. horrendous.

3 severe traumatic brain injuries at 16 life support 7 days comatosed, paraplegic etc.
7 years initial rehab. Now 23 year s into a refractory commorbidity existence. The truth if it all is no one in the world knows enough about our brains how powerful and how life changing they are. My line was drawn in the sand and there is nothing else i can do this is my life which torments me the most knowing im not the person who lives in this body im not the person i was and what he was about. Im just a waste of space on a pension and living in negative resolve. I hope everybody is well and that you try all tthe drugs and treatmentts provided because tthey do work for some people. Tthankuou goodbye

Gardening is what they makes their residence do in British military rehabilitation centres, as it's calming. Also learning an instrument requires the brain, to be able to be better at problem solving and even better for you than just listening to music. So just watering the plants I chose and seeing them grow because of that brings me great joy. I've just started learning Bass Guitar to 😁

I suffer from this. The only thing I have done that works or should I say help manage things is just the correct meds. And this is after intense therapy. It doesn't fix it but it helps
