  • Reggie "Fieldy" Arvizu started drinking when he was 5 or 6, because his dad gave him the booze! His room was decorated with all sorts of beer symbols. After he began his rock music career, a lot of his life was women, with one night stands to groupies. He became really mean, and he could be triggered easy to become violent. See his story about how he came to know Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, and how it changed him totally!

It is amazing to view this.
Korn helped me while growing up. I remember I said I'd be thankful and a fan until old. When I decided to believe in Christ, I realized I had to make changes. One of them was to stop listening had to Korn. It was difficult for me, but I did. Now, 5 years later, I'm facing diffcult times. My faith was shaken. A Korn song popped in my mind, looked them up again. Their music still helps, differently. I find members are Christian. God has used them to help in a weird way.

I grew up with Jon , Reggie, and Brian......and they have come along way & I am proud of them. I hope Jon starts following God, and the sooner the better. When Jon was younger,........HE NEVER EVEN SMOKED A CIGARETTE!!! He has always been a quiet & kinda shy guy, and when he joined his first band, he had to drink his courage juice , and the more he drank, the crazier he would get & everyone would love it! He is such a sweet person, I would hate to lose him :(

I am a former Korn fan who came to Christ back in 1999. Much of what is being called "Christianity" in the west today has little to do with what Christ actually taught, but is based more on psychology, postmodernism, or a mixture of both. There are far more true Christians in China right now, where they are continually persecuted for their faith. 100 of them where recently arrested in a house church raid. That kind of persecution could soon come to America, and I will not be surprised if some of it comes from within the professing church, considering what Jesus Himself said in the following verse: "the time is coming that whoever kills you will think that he offers God service" (John 16:2).
I do not find that verse to be far fetched when I consider the anti-Christian hostility that is already coming from the worldly, apostate church. Some of their responses to true Christians sometimes verge on rage. A Christian radio host that I have listened to named Brannon Howse has even mentioned that some of them have written to him saying nasty things like, "I wish a fatal accident would happen to you". The true Christian church in America may soon be forced underground as they have been in China, but not the compromising church.

Where is everyone getting the wicked from? I listened to Korn and its not evil or against God.
Just because something doesn't praise the lord does not mean it is wicked. Also, all the people on here telling others that they will burn if they don't do exactly as you have done is stupid.
Everyone has their own personal relationship with God. Let them do it how they see fit. This is what turns most people AWAY from God. You yelling about how you're so righteous, get off of your high horse and be kind like a TRUE christian should.

This is where the term "lost" comes from, because we become "lost" when we commit our first sin, and our spiritual connection to God is broken and we become "found" or "saved" when we become Born Again! If a child's body was to die before he committed that first sin, then his spirit would go to heaven!

So many people are saying that Head and Fieldy are serving Satan because they're in Korn, which people say is an evil band. But that's just not true. Today, if you look at Korn, the only thing about them that could be considered "bad" is their song lyrics. That's it. None of the members of Korn are hardcore partiers anymore, none of them do drugs, none of them sleep around with women, none of them worship Satan, and none of them are against the Christian faith. The lyrics in their songs are lyrics about human feelings, and I would say 99% of the people who listen to their songs do so because the songs help them release their pain and anger and sadness. Yes, some of the lyrics are foul, but certainly not all of them are. And on top of that, a lot of music fans listen to music for the MUSIC, not for the lyrics. So I'm positive that a lot of Korn fans don't even pay attention to the lyrics most of the time. Brian and Reggie are not serving Satan, and they are not in a Satanic band. They are in a place where they can be a light to many people, including the other members of the band.

1 Cor. 10: 21-22; You cannot drink the Cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: you cannot be partakers of the Lord's table, and the table of devils. Do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? Are we stronger than He? If he is going to truly follow Jesus Christ and all that He is, he cannot stay with Korn. I was a Korn fan for years and other metal, rap and rock. When I got saved the Lord had me to leave it left it all. I believe he did get saved but to stay in that life hurts his testimony, and hurts his walk with God

+Jayme Oman I threw away my Korn CD's because the messages and lyrics were too negative. But God gives people time to develop them, and growing in your faith and in the spirit can be a lifelong task. That depends on the person and their problems. But I agree that Korn at least should change their lyrics. Not agreeing with them is not enough since you play them night after night.

God is, in no means religion. He's our Father. And when you look at a relationship between a father and son, The father Loves his son more than life itself. You can not impress the father when He's already impressed. When you focus on God's love for you, desires in your life will change without effort. That's what happened to Brian "Head." He understood that WE ALL are made right by God. And all God wants is to restore Himself with us. I can Love a God like that.

"And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am." - Jesus. He came to bring us together. He came to bring us home. He knows we are not worthy. He knows we are not worthy. He knows we deserve anything but the tranquility of Heaven. But he came for us anyway. No other deity - Mohammed, Buddha, Krishna, etc. has done this. Jesus has always been the true living God of love, and on Earth he was a lowly humble man that ended up becoming the most written about person in the world, and the person who has changed the most indecorous people into the best of things.

I had a scary incident happen to me, I was saved but for awhile I turned from Jesus. So I was watching crazy youtube video's about people who died and went to hell and came back. It scared me, just happened this last weekend. I had my cousin come again to help me find Jesus again. I have doubts, I want to know that I believe in my heart that I accept Jesus. I keep searching for an answer. I am reading the bible, I am scared. I want to repent. I did the prayer at the end of this. I know you only need 1. I can't shake this fear. I ask for Jesus to rid these demons that give me this fear. I know you aren't suppose to have a feeling. But I just don't know what I'm suppose to think, or feel, did I do it sincere? I blanked my mind and I read it, I just don't know whats wrong with me.

Hey dude, i know how you feel i used have doubts about my salvation. I relied alot on my feelings and at some point didnt know it i was truly saved. But that was my feelings, not Gods promises. I know the evil one will use anything to keep our lives the least productive for Christ. Tries to give us discouragement in telling us your not good enough or you never knew Christ to begin with even if we do. The point is we arent good enough, no one is, "all have sinned and have fallen short of the glory of God" Romans 3:23. As Isaiah write are works are as filthy rags before God. We have broken his law and since God is a God of justice and holiness, justice must be done in punishing people who have broken Gods law. But God is also a God of love, he had a plan, and that was Jesus Christ. Im sure you know the greatest story. Jesus Christ as it describes throughout the bible such as John 1 was God that came to live in the flesh. He was God but at the same time brought Himself down to our level and was the only one without sin. "For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are--yet he did not sin Hebrews 4:15. And in doing so he was able to take the punishment we deserve for our sin and Jesus willing took it upon himself through his death on the cross. Then he rose from the grave 3 days later and conquered sin and death proving he is who he said he was and that we may conquer sin and death through him as well. 2 Corinthians 5:21 says "He who knew no sin, became sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God". But we have to respond, if we reject and think there are other ways to salvation or believe we need something more than just what Jesus did, we cant really come to be saved and know Him. What does the bible say? John 14:6 Jesus says "I am the way, the truth, and the life, no one comes to the father except through me. It is trusting in all that Christ had done through the cross and resurrection, and trust in that alone while turning and wanting to follow God instead of our sin (repenting). "If you declare with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." Romans 10:9. Now im not against people saying prayers to recieve Christ into their hearts, I actually think that is great. But its not the prayer itself that saves, its trusting in Gods promises, trusting in what Jesus Christ did. We wont be perfect right after that, and we can still fall into sin. But if we have truly trusted with our heart in Jesus's sacrifice as payment for our sins alone you are saved. One thing you just have to recongnize first is that we are sinners and we dont deserve Gods mercy, we sin everyday and sometimes dont realize it. But God still loves us and proved it by sending His Son Jesus Christ for us when he didnt have to. Romans 5:8 "But God shows his love for us in while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us". It is and open invitation to every single person, and God has ways of reaching every single person, but will we trust him or go our own way? Just remember it is what Jesus has done and not our own works that saves, good works do play a part in salvation but that is after we are saved in which God works through us good works giving proof that we know Him. And you cannot lose your salvation, read Romans 8. I know this is long and i hope i helped at all if you have any other questions feel fre to message me :). "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God not by works, so that no one can boast. Ephesians 2:8-9

I think he believes he can be a witness to others and the rest of the Korn group - but the problem is that most of the public will not realize he is a Christian, and then when the unsaved people find out he is, they will think it is ok for a Christian to participate in this sort of music. So it is confusing to me. I feel sure the Holy Spirit is convicting him to leave, and hopefully he will listen.

You are right, we can't "buy" our salvation by doing good works, because it is a free Gift from God. BUT we also cannot pray the Prayer of Salvation (or Sinner's Prayer - whichever you want to cal it), and then live like the devil and expect to get to heaven.

You are right in that baptizing a child is fine but it only can be done as a dedication of his life to the Lord Jesus. BUT it does nothing to get that child Born Again, because the first time he does something wrong, after he reaches the point in time where he can tell right from wrong, and willingly chooses to do wrong, then that wrong is counted as sin, and he becomes spiritually separated from God.

There is no one who is a "good" person, because we all sin, and just one sin during our entire lifetime contaminates our spirit, and our unforgiven sins will keep us out of heaven. We are conceived in our mother's womb, with pure eternal spirits, which are spiritually connected to God. BUT the first time we sin as a small child, when we are to the point in time when we can tell right from wrong, and we choose to willingly do wrong -

Baptism is not just "symbolic" it is one of sacraments that makes an indelible mark on the recipient's soul. It is the first step in a relationship with Christ. don't forget what Christ said about infants and children Matthew 19: 15,16: "Let the little children come to me, and DO NOT HINDER THEM, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these." And he laid his hands on them and went on his way.

What I am saying is that what everyone on earth produces, who is not a Born Again Christian, is influenced by demons to one degree or another. Some more than others. So it would follow that music produced by non-Born Again Christians has demonic influence in it somewhere - even though it may be very subtle. I'm talking about ALL music from rock to classical! If a person is not Born Again, he does not have the Holy Spirit in him to influence him at all! Do you consider yourself Born Again?

You are also mistaken. Accepting Christ is just a start. Christ said Follow me... so do it. Follow in his steps, do his will, praise God and be humble. This is being a Christian, it is not just saying a prayer and thinking your good. Same thing as promising to do something and not following through. I struggle with following through as well.

    - that wrong is counted as our first sin, and that sin causes our spiritual connection to God to be broken. It will stay broken forever unless we repent of our sins,, and come to Jesus and ask for forgiveness and are willing to become Born Again! There is no forgiveness of sins unless we become Born Again! This is because it's a supernatural thing that happens whereby our spirits are actually recreated and made brand new and our spiritual connection to God is re-established!

Yes you can, you can give your salvation back! God is not going to force anyone to go to heaven, if he changes his mind! Read Revelation 3:1-5. Even a reference to getting one's name erased from the Book of Life means it is certainly possible! There are no idle words in the Bible, right?

No, because the Bible tells us that we ALL have sinned and we all fall short of what God wants from us! So since God will not allow even one unforgiven sin to come into heaven, He had to make a way for us to get our sins forgiven, so we would be pure enough to enter heaven.

@jesusfreak77mary But the Bible tells us to separate ourselves from the world, and to NOT hang out with unsaved people, and this is ESPECIALLY true when you are a new Christian. This is because they can drag you down very easily, when you are a new Christian - you haven't had the chance to build up the strength of your spirit yet.

It's just that non-Born Again people do not have God to help them resist those influencing demons. Exposing ourselves to non-Christian music is giving demons a way to negatively influence our minds, with both the music and the lyrics.

  • @joel10000a
    @joel10000a  Před 11 lety

All we have to do is to repent of our sins and come to Jesus and become Born Again! Jesus said in John 3:3, in the Bible, that unless a person becomes Born Again, he CANNOT see the Kingdom of God (heaven). So without inviting Jesus to become the Lord of your life (a part of becoming Born Again), then your sins will not be forgiven and your sins will send you to hell.

Tim Branson [reporting]: His name is Reggie Arvizu, but most people know him as “Fieldy”, bass player for the multi-platinum rock band Korn.
Reggie “Fieldy” Arvizu: A lot of it was women. One night stands to groupies and all of that. I became really mean, and I was triggered easy to become violent. I could kill people.
Branson [reporting]: I recently talked with Fieldy about his rock’n’roll lifestyle and some of the more difficult choices he’s made in his life, including his decision to follow Christ and stay with the band.
Branson: You started drinking at a very early age. How did that happen?
Fieldy: I was probably 5 or 6. My parents would tuck me into bed, and my mom’d be like, “I love you,” and my dad would be like, “Dream about Budweisers.” That’s what he knew.
Branson: And that kind of set you up, didn’t it?
Fieldy: Had my big Budweiser pillows in my room. I was destined to be a partier, I guess.
Branson: So your parents both were partying all the time. How did that affect your family?
Fieldy: It starts out, they start drinking and partying. Towards the end of the night, it was always the same thing. There would be dishes flying, screaming, yelling to violence to abuse. It’s like they loved each other, [but] that’s what happens.
Branson: Alcohol and drugs has a way of doing that.
Fieldy: Yep, brings out that other side.
Branson [reporting]: When Fieldy’s parents divorced, that other side blew up. He was heartbroken. So he did what any teenager might do to block the pain -- he shut down.
Fieldy: I was like, this is not going to hurt me. That’s what I told my dad. “I’m moving in with you. Let’s get a keg, and let’s throw a party and make music,” and I put a wall up to not feel the emotions. That’s when it became full-on drinking and a way that nobody’s going to hurt me. From that moment on, I never had a sober day.
Branson [reporting]: Fieldy formed the band Pierced with some high school friends. He started using speed.
Fieldy: When we were in these younger bands, they were like hair metal bands, you know? The whole image was to be really skinny, like a Q-Tip, big hair, little stick body, tight pants and all. If you take these speed pills right here, you won’t be hungry. So I started getting into that. I went to jail a few time, but looking back I should have been in jail like every day. I just didn’t get caught.
Branson [reporting]: Pierced fell apart, as did other bands that followed. Then, in 1993, Fieldy and friends came up with a new name, Korn. With a new sound and a new lead singer, the band took off and so did Fieldy’s party life.
Fieldy: I had my nights of being in hotel rooms and destroying them by myself, crying because I’d wake up in the morning feeling so bad from partying. I’d be shaking. I’d wake up and throw up in the morning. I’m like, “Man, I can’t handle this.” So I would just take some Xanax or Adavan and let that kick in and I’d just be wasted again. It’d bring you so down, then [I would] smoke weed after that. Then night would come, and I could start drinking.
Branson: The goal was basically to stay buzzed.
    Fieldy: All day.
Branson [reporting]: Korn was huge, playing in sold-out arenas around the world. In the midst of it all, Fieldy married and divorced twice.
Branson: You had a very specific view about women. How did you see women in your life?
Fieldy: I would bash on them, say women are just sluts, no good. I was really mean to women to where I could make almost any woman cry, any time. I guess that’s what I did to keep from getting hurt.
Branson [reporting]: Fieldy was still dealing with the pain of his parents’ divorce.
Branson: You spent a lot of time and effort building up walls around your heart.
Fieldy: That was a full-time job for like 20 years. One heartbreak, 20 years. I mean, most people I think get over a heartbreak in a like a year. But 20 years destroying myself? It’s a vicious cycle. You’re living inside a tornado spinning. It’s fast, and it ends up killing you.
Branson: Did you ever come to a point and say this has gotta stop?
Fieldy: I don’t think I did. I always made a joke out of everything. If my hands are shaking and I’m throwing up, I’d make a joke. “Hey, everybody watch this.”
Branson [reporting]: It was no joke when Fieldy’s father was diagnosed with cancer.
Fieldy: To me, my dad was kind of like a superhero. There’s no way this could happen. Even to the point where he got sick and [I] had to move him over to the top doctors in the world, I’m like, “They’re going to fix it. I got money. They’re going to fix it. I got the best insurance in the world. He’s gonna be fine.”
Branson [reporting]: But he wasn’t. His father died with one last wish.
Fieldy: He wished that I’d be saved.
Branson [reporting]: That’s because years earlier Fieldy’s father had become a Christian and so had his wife. So, when she asked Fieldy to pray the salvation prayer at the hospital, he did.
Fieldy: I just did it, because everyone was freaking out. It didn’t mean much. I was so out of my mind at the moment. I came back to the house, and that’s when I went through a deep dark moment. I just started thinking about everything -- from what I’m doing to myself to his death to what I’m leaving behind. I don’t know. I couldn’t take it anymore.
Branson [reporting]: That led Fieldy to a sincere prayer of commitment that changed his life.
Fieldy: I had chills throughout my whole body, almost like a coldness. I was crying. I tell a lot of people that you can do the prayer with your brain, but that’s not going to do anything. You have to do it with your heart. When I accepted Christ, now I’m like, “Okay, I’m going to pray for some of these things that I’m a slave to.” It went in steps. So that I was set free with no withdrawals. No craving. I stopped everything down to weed to the pills. I just stopped.
Branson [reporting]: Over time he became more aware of his need for God’s forgiveness.
Fieldy: I’d walk into the bathroom, put my face on the floor and just say, “Forgive me, man,” because some of the things I did were so bad. I just knew He said, “I forgive you, son.”
Branson [reporting]: Fieldy spent a year apologizing to everyone he could think of that he’d hurt. The hardest person to apologize to was his girlfriend at the time, Dena.
Fieldy: I was going to be heartbroken if she left me. I was like, I’ve really got to take a chance here of her leaving me after I tell her I’ve been cheating on her. I took the chance.
Branson [reporting]: Dena was furious, but she forgave him. The two married and started a family. As far as his career, he’s still with Korn. I asked him about his decision to stay with the band. He believes it’s for a good reason.
Fieldy: There’s just so much power of being used in Korn. I can reach so many people and know what I’m about, not what Korn’s about. I want to try to follow the Bible the best I can, because I know it’s going to give me the best life.
Branson [reporting]: Now that he’s “got the life” and has written a book about it. He says his message is really pretty simple.
Fieldy: People think, “I’m not good enough to have the Lord come into my life.” People have got to know all you’ve got to do is know what Jesus did for you. He died for your sins, died on the cross and came back three days later. If you ask Him into your heart, it’s for life. He’s going to be with you forever.

His only way back to God is for him to VOLUNTARILY confess he is a sinner, and voluntarily commit his life to Jesus and become Born Again! If the person does not do this of his own accord, without being coerced into it as the Catholic church does with confirmation, then he will not become Born Again, until he does commit his live totally voluntarily to Jesus! God is not going to force, trick or coerce anyone to come into heaven.

Sure many might get saved, by metal christian bands, but how many stick with it? NO ONE will get to heaven who gets saved, and then turns their backs on Jesus! Go read Revelation 3:1-5. It plainly indicates that a person will have his name erased from the Book of Life if he stops believing what he originally believed about Jesus, when he first became Born Again! Getting to heaven is a process, and is NOT guaranteed, unless you stick with Jesus!
