    2003 f250 6.0 hottest spartan tune, meth injection, pull a 10k lb trailer regularly... 340k miles. Saved up for head studs back in 2008... STILL waiting on mine to blow...

    I have a bone stock 2007 6.0 that now has 200,652 miles on it, and has never had a single problem, other than replacing the turbo. I think the 05-07 6.0's are a good reliable truck that can last a long time... the reason people blow them up is because of tuning, and running the shit out of them causing to much pressure for the motor to handle, thus blowing the head.. if you want more power, then you need to upgrade your truck to handle it, period..... but your truck is a beast, take care of it man.

    Good looking truck man, I've got an 07 6.0L and love it. Just make sure that your maintenance is 100% on point. Everyone bitches about the 6.0L but you keep up with your maintenance (oil change every 5k with filter and fuel filters every 10k) and you'll be good. Also like the other guy said below, make sure that you get a new battery, bc if you let it get too low it will take out the FICM which will/can take your injectors with it. Also if your check engine light is on for the EGR after the delete, get an SCT tuner and turn it off and it wont throw the check engine light at you. I saw that you have gauges, since you're tuned, watch those bad boys like a hawk, they''ll give you a heads up about stuff starting to go bad before it tanks completely. Nice truck for sure man! If, unfortunately, you do have anything go bad, look for the DieselTechRon videos, they are gold.

    I know the 7.3 is a reliable engine, but the 6.0 was made because the 7.3 couldn't cut it for emissions. Ford completely scrapped the 7.3 concept and went from scratch -hence creating the 6.0. The 6.0's aren't bad at all. The reason why they would be blowing up from the factory was because Super Chips wanted to do an endorsement deal with Ford and the 6.0's when modified diesels were barely in view. But because the 6.0 was already maxed out for power and the endorsement deal with Super Chips and Ford caused the engine to run richer than usual, it resulted in the EGR's clogging causing the usual damage done to the trucks. My girlfriend has the 6.0 and it has never had any mechanical issues other than what her mother had done to it (running over a parked car drunk, running it out of fuel a few times causing some injectors to be replaced) and that was pretty much the only problem with the truck. It currently only has 119k on the ODO and it is completely stock other than the repairs mentioned above. Every once in a while a cocky teen will try to race her and she will win. But I prefer Cummins anything and I do like a Duramax, but not Chevy. Also, when the 6.4 Powerstrokes are built, it's hard to beat them.

    • @bwop2017

    • @Stonks93
      @Stonks93 Před 7 lety

      Bradley Korth oh ok so egr delete is a portion of the bulletproofing. My knowledge on these powerstroke diesels isn't that great. Do you think you could get away with just the egr delete?

    • @bwop2017
      @bwop2017 Před 7 lety +1

      in my opinion you should delete every diesel from factory settings, that's what hurts diesel engines and that's why ford had trouble finding the perfect diesel engine, the EPA and emissions standards are the reason why diesels aren't reaching their full potential. A Lot of this is my opinion, everyone has one, If it was me i would do studs, gaskets, and then delete, but that my thought.

    I have a 6.0 f450 service truck stock it's a great truck will pull anything and gets awesome mileage but I do alot of preventitive maintenance I wouldn't recommend this truck if your poor or not a diesel tech. I'm not bad mouthing them but they are a very high maintenance engine good luck bud all in all you have a great truck just stay away from that tuner or your gonna be pulling those heads😈

    I'd love to own a 6.0 to see if they are as problematic as they are put out to be. What motor don't have its own set of problems? Lb7 duramax is bad for injector problems, Cummins is bad to have vp44 injection pumps go out on the older 5.9. Either way you go you'll have a problem somewhere down the road no engine is gonna go a million miles with zero problems, metal against metal is gonna wear out. my 03 7.3 has got 216k miles on her. Only problem ever given was a bad water pump and a battery went. I'm sure somewhere down the road she's going to shit the bed tho lol. Other than that she's been great. Fuel economy ain't to good tho.

    I'm a ford guy but u said a bullet proof 6.0 is as good as a 7.3 but you don't have to bulletproof a 7.3 so therefore a 6.0 will never compare to a 7.3

      I second that a 6.0 will never compare to the 7.3 powerstroke!! I am a cummins guy but i would own a 7.3 any day its an amazing motor that will out last any fucking 6.0! or 6.4 or 6.7!!!

    • @MntAverest
      @MntAverest Před 7 lety +4

      Levi Muehring a built 6.0 will beat a built 7.3 any day. You can make more power and torque with a built 6.0. Stock for stock the 7.3 is a way better truck and way more reliable.

    They sell for dirt cheap prices at dealer only auto auction,anything with a 6.0 and 6.4 don't bring money.My dad sees this at a dealer only auto auction in Mishawauka,Indiana he goes to a lot.Jasper Engines and Transmissions has at least 3 pages of upgrades they do to the 6.0 powerpuke.The 6.0,they do the headstuds and forget about the bottom end.Ford put in too much boost from the factory and will have a rod through the block with no warning at all.

    If you can get one under 200k and can get as much maintenance/work history as possible to make sure the previous owners took care of it… it’s a solid investment

    I'm a Ford guy, and I would take a 6.0 over the 6.4 any day. That one was the worst. The 7.3 and 6.7 are definitely the ones to get.
