I like the expanded tricks of the later games, but the overall physics, slides, and maps of this game were the best.

Skate 1 had the best feel by far imo. The camera angle alone…lighting and overall sounds of the game made for its own identity which I became obsessed with as a kid. Def my favorite one.

Yeah the Sound Design is killer in Skate 1, the physics worked great, and I love the sensitivity of bones breaking in this game.
They are all great games but skate 2 and 3 back were admirable but questionable as adding and removing previous features.

Finally! Everyone always talking about Skate 3 but the original had so much more style. The map, the low camera angle, the music were all reminiscent of skate videos, throwing down on lines that you could find in the environment. Love that game

I looooove simple skating in Skate, it’s so satisfying. I like mega ramps and infinite lines etc… too, but it just doesn’t capture what makes real skate videos so endearing to watch, so creative with the environment even if there isn’t much to work with. Great video !

Going from Project 8 to this at the time was mind-blowing, it's honestly still the best feeling game
After not being able to play it for years, the other day, I finally started playing it again at a friend’s house on her Xbox and dude… the nostalgia is insane. I remember asking my mom to go to Walmart with her for groceries JUST so I could play the demo in 8th grade. When it finally came out, I thought it was the most revolutionary thing ever. Effectively killed all interest in Tony Hawk games for me. Lmao

The clothing was so good in skate 1
Original sanvanalona was so beautifull and color rich. I did not like the color change in skate 2 but but the gameplay was much smoother. I wish is that they remake skate 1 with skate 2 gameplay and skate 3 off board navigation. That would be the perfect skateboarding game in the history

The first skate. will always be my favorite. I played the demo everytime my mom dragged me to Walmart and was so insanely excited when the game finally came out. As much as I appreciate the features of later games, nothing beats the original. There’s something about the strict physics that makes it feel so much more immersive. Doing simple lines and tricks and trying to make them as steezy as possible ate up DAYS my freshman year of high school.
1:05 Mannnn... I ripped the shit out of the Skate 1 demo. That skatepark is forever legendary and nostalgic

The OG Skate is still my no 1. It just seems smoother & I don’t know exactly why, but it just feels like the purest & most true to real street skating out of all 3 Skate titles imo. Skate 2 is my no2 because 3, while fun just seemed a long way from the more realistic & pure feel of the OG Skate. All that take it down a tiny notch (a very tiny notch) & is the quite blatant miss step & the common sense ability to come off your deck to walk & jump when stuck by the press of a button,but apart from that “IT’S STILL NO 1” in my best KRS’ voice, Those that get it,get it.

The skater to map scale was the best the skater and detail size felt the most realistic. Skate 2 started to feel cartoony. Also I like the overt hyper realistic colors in skate it’s kind of like bf3.
Bruh I’m saying like skate 3 I’ve skated every single spot way too many times. Skate 1 the map is more populated with spots and it feels bigger. Like if I play skate 3 for 4 hours I basically skate the whole map. If I play skate 1 I could play for 8 hours and still miss so many good spots. Every random alley has something. Every street has something to skate.

Skate 1 was directed toward real skaters. Skate 2 kept it kinda real but got goofy with hitting pedestrians. Skate 3 took goofy too far and they got rid of that realism feel. Skate 4 gonna be extremely goofy 😂

The thing that stands out that I don’t like is the floaty feeling like there’s zero gravity . I like skate 3. But seeing the skate 4 pre alpha I want that so bad

@Neo nope. Just a totally different experience. Tony Hawk games were about the arcade style fun, while Skate tried to go a more sim route
Skate is alright but I hate how the controls is forced on the player.
MLB the show has stick controls for pitching but at least in the settings the payer can change it.
I strongly believe players should have more settings.

No way. Skate 3 map was so unrealistic and bland. And what do you mean 0 peds or cars in skate 1? There's tons of them?
Uhm did you forget that you can turn off pedestrians and cars altogether while in freeplay mode? The normal setting in Skate 1 makes the streets seem kind of scarcely populated, but you can easily crank up the percentage of cars and people up a lot higher. Playing with max. population density can be a real challenge, but fun as heck!
@@wizard932 indeed. I recently got into the original skate game on the xbox streaming thing on PC and it baffled me how much better the map was in a 2007 game. just pure city and suburbs

flying everywhere in the map? I think you watched the wrong video. Check out this vid - czcams.com/video/_8gCp1F0V74/video.html - this is definition of flying all over the map. All of these tricks in this video are possible even the size of the gaps. Realistic skating doesn’t always mean bad skating at small town local skatepark with beer.
Such a shame they changed to a more arcade styled the new skate game looks wack compared to this
Yeah, it sucks. Especially considering a lot of the appeal when Skate 1 first came out was that it wanted to change things up from the arcade-styled Tony Hawk entries. No disrespect to THPS and alike titles though.
