- I do my best to run through safe isolation and a full set of testing on a radial circuit. With a look at filling in the test results.
I am not a teacher! This is not instructional just an effort to help and probably full of mistakes so buyer beware lol!
Hope it helps one or two out.

Very well explained, I’m doing my AM2 this year. Thanks for the help!
Thank you again appreciated. Making more sense as I work my way through year 2 at college.
Thanks and keep on trucking!
Always a joy to watch
Just two points, firstly for safe isolation you should probe onto the least dangerous terminal first ie onto neutral then onto line / of line of neutral onto earth onto neutral of neutral of earth onto earth onto line, the earth conductor has always been and always will be called the earth conductor it is only college teachers who call it the CPC 😁and the cable is called flat twin and earth NOT pvcpvc twin and cpc. Also you don't have to null the test leads but you will need to deduct the leads resistance from the test result
Great video mate. Well executed. Thank you.
Lol thanks sean. I was doing my best to talk in modern college talk. Its hard because like yourself I have spent years calling it twin and earth.
Done my best mate. Its hard as hell trying to remember stuff on camera. Not comfortable at all for me these kind of videos as yet!
@@electrician247 yes I know what you mean, but I think you did a dam good job
When l did my AM2 l had to remove the cover of the light fitting and test for voltage there... l failed this unit the first time because l forgot to test for voltage by switching the light switch on....
Thank you.
Maybe not relevant to AM2 on fixed installations, but when making safe it might have been worth mentioning that even equipment that is supplied via a plug in supply, lock off can be achieved using a box for the plug. More common on 3 phase equipment in industrial environments maybe.
Very good point. I didnt want to make it to instructional. More encourage people to learn the process etc.
I did cover locking off on another video and mentioned plugs. Its hard to remember everything lol.
Thanks for the suggestion, appreciate it Alec.
