Hey, guys! Today we are organizing a massive pantry for the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Charlotte. This humongous space provides snacks and baking supplies for 28 families that are staying at the house while a loved one is receiving treatment at the local hospitals. I hope you enjoy this extreme kitchen and pantry organization. I hope it gives you some inspiration for your space!
I was so excited to give back and tackle this space... with so many people touching it every day, it was in need of a true transformation to help everyone in the kitchen and at meal times.

In 2018, I had my premature baby boy. He was 2 months early and it was Easter week. We had to stay in NICU for a while and it was the worst most depressing time in my life!! On Easter day, staff at the Ronald McDonald house went to every single NICU room with an easter basket for every baby. The basket had goodies for the babies and parents. It was such a beautiful gesture that brought happy tears! It meant the world to me that my preemie got to celebrate easter. It might not be a big deal to some but for NICU parents those gestures make an unforgettable impact!! I'll forever be grateful. 💕

My mother died almost 42 years ago after a kidney transplant in Nashville, Tennessee, when I was just 16. During the week that my parents were in Nashville, my dad stayed at the Ronald McDonald House. The good people there took excellent care of him, and when I arrived after my mom passed, they were so kind and caring to this 16-year-old girl whose world had suddenly turned upside down. I’ve never forgotten what a blessing the organization was to my family at such a time, and it was a thrill to see how they are still caring for families when they need it most!

VERY well done. The only thing I would add/suggest for ease of use would be battery-powered motion detector lights on many of the shelves (especially the lower ones). The units have such cavernous cubbies that not a whole lot of light seems to get in. Little motion detector lights adhered to the under side of the shelf above would go a long way towards making selection easier.

It reminds us that there are so many generous, wonderful people out there who donate, not only money, and goods, but also their time, for such a worthy cause. That includes you, dear Kathryn. Job well done...

SIMPLY ADORE YOU Kathryn. No measuring device has yet been created to measure how much. XO XO XO
PS. Friends, remember the dates on foods like pantry items are 99% best by, use by, or SALE by dates. Manufactures have tested the product for that duration that is stamped and assure the quality, taste, performance is up the standard they strive for. Doesn't mean the foods are expired, bad or spoiled. Some instances where fats and oils will go rancid, they are still safe to consume, beyond those dates but will just taste a bit off.
In this instance, I appreciate that the mission is ensuring the families are served THE BEST. Flavor, familiar tastes can provide comfort and these families deserve all the stimuli of comfort they can absorb. XO

Ronald McDonald house has been such a blessing to my family more than once. My husband and I spent 4 weeks there with our oldest son and then on and off for over 4 months with our youngest daughter (both were preemies). Fast forward 25 years and my daughter and son in law stayed at RMH for 3 months when their son was born premature also. I don’t know how we would have made it without RMH. So many times my husband and I didn’t have extra money to keep eating out (even with discount cards for the hospital cafeteria) and it was so wonderful to come in and find that volunteers had cooked a meal that day and the food available for snacks was such a blessing. Those times were very difficult. I thank God for RMH.

They are in the Children's hospitals as well. When my son was in the hospital here locally they had a family room ran by the roland McDonald's house. They had drinks, quick make foods, snacks, tvs, tables, books, games for the family to be able to spend time with thier child ans not be on the hospital room itself. They are an amazing organization. If you can't find a McDonald's house in your town check your local Children's hospital They probably have a huge family room there. Being the parent who stayed at the hospital with my son 24/7 they were truly a blessing.

It was so much cheaper than staying in a hotel and eating out or at the hospital, and it was definitely a lot more homey. Plus you were around other families going through similar things. My family stayed in a RMH in 1982 for my little brothers hospital stay. Then years later I stayed in RMH for my son’s hospital stay. I’m so very thankful that we couldn’t afford hotels near the hospitals because the emotional support offered saved me and my family from from breaking down. It’s not just a place to stay. It’s a place that helps keep the pieces of you together when you are at your most scared, vulnerable and exhausted.

Our church had an Awana group that collected items for the Ronald McDonald House in Orlando. We filled up 2 vehicles and delivered to the RMH. We had a tour of the RMH and saw their needs.

RMHC Has been a HUGE help to my family and I am so very touched that you were so kind to donate your time, expertise, and spreading the light of it on your platform!
RMHC were there for my family when my twins had been born 2 months premie after a very difficult pregnancy. While in utero, my twins had developed TTTS (Twin to Twin Transfusion Syndrome) Were Twin A was giving all of her blood to Twin B.
After their early birth, we were able to stay at the House while they were in the NICU. They were the absolute support we needed and was everthing to my husband and older to kids who were at the time 8 and 7 years old (the age of our twins now).
RMH gave us the ability to stay close in a stressful time and allowed us to focus on our premie twins until they were healthy enough to go home.
Ty so much again for your wonderful gift with this video. Ive heard of some really heart tearing stories from other families while there and we do our best to help out whenever we can still to this day. ❤❤

I had vasa previa with my second pregnancy. My placenta was in two pieces with a veil of blood vessels covering my cervix. As I was high risk it was necessary for me to be in a larger centre to carefully wait until our baby was big enough to deliver safely. I stayed at RMH Winnipeg for weeks while my husband and two year old were five hours away at home. They would come to visit me on weekends. It was great having a space that felt like home to enjoy family time together. I ended up having an emergency c section after I started to bleed. My son was early but he was a fighter. RMH was key in my son’s survival. If I wasn’t diagnosed and I delivered in our home town there was a 98% chance he would have died.

Yay, RMH!!! What a blessing they were to my family when my youngest daughter was born with special needs. Many days on multiple occasions were spent in several different RMH locations, and it was our privilege and pleasure to “repay” this amazing charity by providing meals once a year for a long while. I know having an organized pantry will bless so many families as they face such difficult moments in their lives. Way to go, Kathryn!!!🎉

Thank you Katherine for highlighting the amazing work RMH. I stayed at RMH twice while my youngest son went through a brain tumor which took his vision and multiple bouts of meningitis, about 35 nights total. I will always donate to RMH charities. I will always throw any change I have into the donation bins you can find in McDonald’s drive thrus. It is so easy to donate and the money is handled so well. The facilities are great and the volunteers and staff are amazing. Doctors took care of my son; RMH took care of me.

Thank you for working with Ronald McDonald House. Like so many, I had contributed to RMH never thinking we would use it ourselves. My family stayed for most of March 1995 in Iowa City. They allowed us to be together in the most horrible time of our lives. God bless you and all who help RMH. I would also encourage you and all of your followers to donate to St Jude’s and then pray you never know the people who you have generously helped.

Watching this video just makes me love you even more. Even though he didn't make it I'm happy to know I got to see a place like this helping others in one of the most difficult times of their lives. David Shelton Barfield will always be our biggest hero. He endured so much in his 6 years of life. Thank you for helping them get a more organized pantry💜

My life was upside down and they were so kind to me and my family. I still have some of the blankets and clothes they gave to us. So this holds a special place in my heart. ❤

The Ronald Mcdonald House helped my parents when my little sister was born. Her lungs collapsed and she was life flighted off to the children's hospital. My parents were told she would likely not make it. They stayed at the RMH for weeks before the doctor's said she made a miraculous recovery that shocked them all! I was in middle school at the time but will always be so grateful for the aid they provided to our family! ...Thanks for helping them out! I will always donate to them when I can!
