I was born and raised in the UK yet, when I visited for the first time at age 11, I was not shocked. Money is NOT everything. Maya was rich in heritage and the love of his family and community. Hope he never replaces that with western values.🖤🖤

Trudy, with regards to the birds that don't fly away, here's how it works. When you get them for the first time, you remove some of their feathers, so they can't fly away. You put them in a coop, or some kind of a home where they sleep. During the day, you let them out to walk around your compound and you feed them there, as well. When their feathers do grow back, by then they consider your home as their home. So even when they fly around, they always come back home. And then when they have baby pigeons, those too consider it their home and they also don't fly away. A similar concept is used for homing pigeons, which was a natural version of email - so to speak, esp during times of war.

Wow, what a humble beginning. I was almost in tears listening to you share how you grew up and how much love there were in your family. Your faith in God. Your life story will inspire many. Some of the greatest started from the humblest beginning. Keep on keeping on. #estherpinkm.

No need to shed tears for him. You can tell he grew up a happy child surrounded by love of family. There are many people who grew up in lavish surroundings with not an ounce of the love Wode Maya had growing up.
Thank you Trudy and Wode Maya for showing us your village life growing up. It is very lovely and inspiring.

Goosebumps when you watch that pounding of the fufu, oh my heart beat! I think it is the type of trust you have in each other just like your gymnastic or circus partner. One mistake by any side can be deadly

Maya your humble beginning was what shape you into the man you are today. Be proud. It's gave you ambition and drive to succeed for a better life and compassion to want to help your family and people in need. I think you're very special.

Hi Trudy, to reduce the stress of pounding fufu, you can get local grander/grinder the type we used in the market to grind beans or peppers.
I wish you and your lovely boyfriend overflowing blessings.
