      Hello Raj.. Thanks for the info. One quick question that is not mentioned. In page 2 of TD1 Fed form, in the additional Tax to be deducted section, if we mention $ 500 towards additional tax to be deducted in the form, will the employer deduct $500 per pay check or $500 one time deduction or $500 to be divided in 26 pay checks if employee gets paid bi-weekly. Thanks in advance for answering this question..

    Hi Raj. I have a question for you. When you quit your old job mid-year and start a new one do you still complete a TD1 form as if you never did one in your previous job? This is not 2 jobs running concurrently...just leaving one job to start another.

    • @invest4k
      @invest4k  Před 3 měsíci

      In that case, most likely your previous employer has used your basic income credits in the first half of the year, better to not fill the form or select that option, otherwise you might end up paying some tax at the end of the year.

    How do I know if I class as a resident, I will be on my IEC visa, I am only planning to stay for likely 6 months but a year max, from your video I got the impression I’m classed as a resident but I have read articles that suggest on a working holiday visa you are a non resident in this vid I got the impression I’d be classed as a resident

    • @invest4k
      @invest4k  Před 5 měsíci +1

      If you are planning to stay for more than 6 months and you are on holiday work visa sort of situation, it is tied to being able to return back to home country and so you are non resident with such visa. Its easier to declare residency with study permit or multi year work permit, your case is conditional so better not to declare canada as residency

    Hi @Raj, I am on a work permit. In the For non-residents only section on the form. Do I check any of the boxes at all? If I don't check Yes or No, does the amount still remain unchanged, or is it mandatory to select No as work permit is considered as temporary resident and that would mean I would be entering 0 in the total claim amount.

    • @invest4k
      @invest4k  Před 16 dny

    • @invest4k
      @invest4k  Před 6 měsíci +1

      Hi, I am glad its helpful.
      1. No, it doesn't, only charges by UBC directly will be counted, online courses doesn't count unless UBC is charging the amount and not edX
      2. Follow the other TD1ON video, all provinces have same details just the numbers change, read your document and fill accordingly.
      I hope it helps, please like the video :)

    Hello. My accountant didn’t give me a specific answer. I just started my job today. When I fill out the TD1, I’m confused about the tuition because it’s 2024, but I haven’t started the school year yet. So, what amount should I put? Should I put the amount on the tuition tax credit form or the amount after OSAP pays? Also, for the T2123, should I put the full amount of unused tuition tax credits? What does that do? I already filed my taxes for 2023. Does anything change for this new job I’m starting in 2024?. Can i put the total unused federal tuition tax credit on the td1?

    Do you have an information video based upon your kids going to college and transfering their claim of tuition and such ??

    • @invest4k
      @invest4k  Před 6 měsíci

      Hi, transferring is very simple just use your kids tuition amount for the particular year or wait for t2202 form at the end of the year and claim in taxes. As long as they are your dependent, you can claim.

    • @erinsutherland1195
      @erinsutherland1195 Před 6 měsíci

      @@invest4k I was told, just recently, by Hand R blcok that you have to have a certain amount of income in order to make the transfer equitable. They said at least 20,000/ annum in order for it to work or else there is no point.

    • @invest4k
      @invest4k  Před 6 měsíci

      Yes, they are right because that tution fees can be claimed only for taxes and not as refunds. Which means the basic credit is already 15000 for 2024, if you make less than that, you don’t pay any taxes anyways, if you paid any taxes the credits helps you to get that taxes back, with 20000 you will get taxes back for that 5k which will be using credits and giving you tax refunds. I hope it helps.

    I worked as cashier from august 2022 to January 2024.

    So, I have to mention my tuition fee in 5th Line ( from 2022 to 2023) ?
