- Finally getting around to adding some cosmetics to the car. A big thank you to @aeroflowdynamics and @ImportImageRacing for sending me a few goodies. The spoiler is your OEM style duckbill that you can get from the factory. Its simple, sleek and really adds a lot to the white. The hardbrake cover is equally as impressive. Once you get past all of my terrible installation techniques you can really appreciate the color and feel. Its definitely more cosmetic and I think it looks great sitting next to my @PERRINPerformance shift knob. Overall, the build is slowly coming together. I do want to add more graphics and a bigger wing but for now I need to focus back on the power. At the end of the day I drive the car more than I look at it! I want to say I represent most normal people out there when they buy these products. It also tends to (accidentally) be more entertaining than it should 😂😂
Use a toothpick to pry the backing away from the 3M tape, it works wonderfully.
Next time you go to apply a new wing use guitar clips. Space them evenly around the adhesive before placing the lip on the trunk. You can easily remove the guitar picks after starting the bolts. Made it a lot eaiser for me!

Nice vid as usual. You should have a contest on how many times your going to hurt your fingers in a instalation vid .lol I think you need a new pair of pliers also .Get a pair of vice grips will save you a lot of pain .And maybe a good pair of gloves 😮😅

Did I miss something? If the other wing allowed water under it, wouldn’t this one also? Did you seal up the extra 2 holes to prevent moisture from getting into your trunk?
*Maybe put plugs in from the back.
*When lining up the wing, I wonder if you painters taped the bolts in from the back then pushed the wing down onto the bolts so the wing would be centered as close as possible before too much of the double sided tape touches car. Just a guess, I’ve never done one.
It didn't allow water underneath it completely. It does have phone around the edges where the water/dirt could collect. This is where the 3m tape should help...hopefully. 😂

Which style spoiler do you like? OEM, STi wing, or BIG WANG ?
I went with the OEM since I have a base model and needed the template to drill the hood holes. Plus the OEM Duckbill has all the 3M tape pre-applied.

I'm not really into adding much aero but your ride definitely needs a big wang. I wonder if someone is developing a wing specific for the VB. Something in between the duck bill and STI.🤔

how long was delivery time?
It was pretty quick. I also did have to wait as at the time of ordering I knew that it was out of stock. I was told stock was coming in on X date and within 5ish days of that I had the part in my hands.
Great vid but next time peel back the corner of the film so you have just enough to grab once you have it lined up and bolted down, one long piece on each side would be ideal!

Someone should make plugs for the open holes so water doesn’t get into the trunk. Does anyone make them for the wrx. I’ve seen them before for mustangs.
I've actually considered putting that material that expanding earplugs are made out of. Could just cut some up and stick it in there and that should be more than enough. I've been thinking about doing it.
Although the entire time I have had the spoiler on water has not once gone inside. Gone through multiple car washes at home and I've driven it through the rain a bunch of times including one pretty heavy storm.

It's a Perrin weighted knob. About 1lb.

Well, the part had been on order since last month. Originally this video was going to happen early May. It was already planned. I've decided on what wing I want in the future so this is more of a temporary installation.
