Wow. This video was a masterpiece. I thought this was going to just be another fun video from my favorite lego youtuber, but it really made me think. I remember how ecstatic I used to get for each and every lego set I bought, and even though I still love lego, it's just not as exciting. It goes to show how as we become obsessed with collecting everything that we lose sight of what makes lego great in the first place. I miss when buying a twenty-dollar lego set was the best feeling in the world. Genuinely, thank you generic stud for reminding me to be greatful for what I have.
As a child I was always told I had too many toys. I always declined that I had enough and would get so excited even for a 10 dollar set. I always loved it and appreciated it because it was such a great feeling. Now though,I truly realize I had so much as a child. And I didn't need much more. I had everything I could want. I had all I could ask my parents for. I am currently just, in tears.
The video really took a different turn there at the end... really left me thinking. Totally agree with you, buying & building so many more LEGO sets now as an AFOL really has taken the novelty away that I used to get as a kid. The sets aren't any less special, but now I can spend a few hundred a month on sets when before I had to wait for special occasions or holidays..

Dude, I didn’t expect this. This was actually really touching, as I, like you, am in this phase of collecting old sets I’d always wanted. But you really hit the nail on the head in the end about why LEGO meant so much back then. The fact that why it doesn’t feel like it used to isn’t just bc of the company’s integrity, but rather us as more mature buyers, really hit home.

I love that "The Dream" is something shared amongst lego fans. I've had a handful, usually about power miners and ninjago. Its crazy how some toys can massively affect someones life
I remember when i got my first ninjago set i immediatly built it and i was so happy, i miss those simpler times, thank you so much for making this video that brought me back into my childhood
The dream lego set of my childhood was The Ghost (from SW Rebels, the show I still love). Now I am building a massive moc of it and it just feels so great to finally own something in lego I always wanted. Totally can feel your joy!

The Lego Dino line from 2012 remains one of my favorite Lego lines till this day. I know we have the JW sets now, but without those unique yellow vehicles and tiger striped dinosaurs, it’s just not the same.

This video reminds me of all the Lego sets from the past I've always wanted or have bought second hand. I feel bad that I didn't get into Lego properly until age 9. I can relate to that nostalgic feeling.
This video made me go on the verge of tears, hero factory, ninjago, toy story, all of these lego These lego themes were such classics us children have never felt yet. Maybe one day they will come back from the dead.

This was a next level video. This is something I think about a lot but never know how to describe it, but you managed to put it into words perfectly. Very relatable.
I actually had a weird Lego dream like years and years ago and it was the ultimate edition of the fire vs ice Chima set which had loads of sets in 1 box which I believe only 2 were made for the final magazine’s competition and the dream was basically about me ordering 1 out of the 2 quantity and then saying “this will make up for the Chima sets I missed” and then building it but then was disappointed when I thought it really happened when it was just a dream
I think this made us all appreciate lego so much more than we have before. Honestly, it kind of made me sad, realizing that we don't have time to appreciate sets, because were so busy collecting. Were not making the most out of what we have. You know it's a good video when it makes you think.

I definitely think your right on that generic I grew up in a not so rich family we couldn't get alot of things so when I woke up on Christmas morning or opened a gift on my birthday I was extra excited to see a lego box because it was a rare sight to see those in my house and it doesn't feel the same now I can get them pretty much whenever

I wanted to buy the series 2 hero factory sets, and as soon as I could I got all 6 heroes, with boxes and instructions for £60. I was so happy when they came in the post. Like, never how I've felt before getting a Lego set
I remember seeing the original Lego avengers Quinjet on the shelves as a kid….still don’t have it. Also one of the AT AT’s and the ninjago season 5 destinies bounty, so many memories.

Wow, didn't expect the video to go that way. But yes, I recognise this. As a kid, when you have a new set, you spend so much time playing with it. And of course you always wanted the next one, but you just spend soooo much more time with your new stuff... And your old stuff as well!!! I remember just having one ninjago figure (Zane ZX from set 9440) and it was the coolest figure I had. Every time I played with my Lego, he was the big hero. Now he's just one of all of those figures...
