- Retro Rewind added 8 new tracks along with a very hard CPU mode. This new Mario Kart Wii mod has its own channel plus auto-updater which are almost complete.
I will add a download link once the new version is publicly released. It's the biggest update to date and everything will be featured in the next Retro Rewind video.

I recommend waiting on downloading the channel because the biggest update to this mod will be featured next video and made public in the near future. It features UI updates never seen on any distribution and opens up a lot of potential for the future with how it is being coded so lots to look forward to :)

Zpl needs to add the Mario kart arcade tracks, it’s not truly every track in Mario kart history without them.

Believe it or not he has haters. There is this guy called mkgamer2 aka supermariogamer that constantly bashes him and calls him ZFL and there are more people like him. They mostly dont like his art style and some think his tracks play bad and are just for casuals@@LiamDeege

I wish there was a mode for this where you have to unlock the courses like grand prix. It always felt rewarding to unlock the cups
Fun Fact: The version of Tokyo Blur featured in Retro Rewind is based on Tokyo Blur 4 from MK Tour.
Every city track from MK Tour has three variants that take different routes, the three routes were then combined when being ported over to MK8D BCP. However, Tokyo Blur (and New York Minute) has a fourth variant in Tour that combines the first three variants (but not the same way as how the BCP did it). Tokyo Blur 4 goes: Tokyo Blur 1 --> 2R --> 3 in a single lap as opposed to one lap per route. If you look up Tokyo Blur 4, the route is the exact same as in Retro Rewind (the only difference is that Retro Rewind does 3 full laps while in Tour it is a 2 section track, the halfway point being under the Kaminarimon 雷門 [Thunder Gate] A.K.A the Red Gate structure in Tokyo Blur 2 [or lap two in the BCP]).
That yoshi island track legit looks like an official track.

@@EmilAhvenainen Troy used a lot of Xenoblade music for his custom music in 2012 and 2013 whenever he played custom tracks or in the background of all montages he made around that time.

ive been enjoying this game offline on emulator. Daisy zipzip is very fun and the track selection is great. I love kamek's library so much, especially on 200cc

Hybrid drift is ESPECIALLY good on inside drift bikes, because you can instantly drift to the other direction without a hop making you lose grip. VERY useful on courses with a LOT of tight turns.

I'm sure someone else has already commented this, but that Tokyo Blur route you were doing was Tokyo Blur 4. A longer route that brings together most of the other routes. The only other city with a route 4 is New York Minute

true path of an ultimate mario kart experience: decompile mk8dx, implement all of the previous games' racing engines into it, along with every version of every track in existence, then make a menu for selecting the gameplay type (which engine to use) and then get sued by nintendo

Hello Troy.
I gotta say, the thought that MKW is evolving yet again, it makes me wonder sometimes. What can't we do with it in eternity? I've had crazy ideas before. Actually it makes me happy, because this is the game. This game is genuinely legendary. It's survived for so long, even long after the game company cares for it.
My biggest dream was getting it to a state like this bringing it to a new console. I wish nintendo would work with people. Not everyone can experience it like they can on a console.
I'm just thinking out loud here. Maybe in a world without sin can this happen. It'd be nice to see people actually working with people. What can't mankind do? 😊
This game has been with me well into my adult life heh. I owe a lot to you. Maybe i can meet you in heaven too. I still await the rapture. The news that's coming out, it's genuinely biblical.
Troy. You should do a video on cool things about old tracks like how peach garden has the alternate route shown on the track
They should make a sort of wii shop for the channels with the mkwii mods and maybe include a few other games to make it easier so you just have to download the mods

I'm having an issue rn with retro rewind
every time I try and play online, it either kicks me off it before I get in with the message "wiimmfi access denied", or I get to the character select menu and THEN it kicks me off, saying I disconnected. How do I fix this?
Can someone help me? Im using dolphin and the latest version of retro rewind (I think ) but I doesnt even have gran prix, so wich version is the one with the very hard cpus??

MKWii mods are too good, i can't bring myself to buy any new Mario Kart products..
imo i think hyrule circuit needs a bit more zelda theming, i genuinely thought it was an original custom track at first glance

This is just my opinion, but I personally don't like how the cannon on Yoshi's Island skips the beginning part of the cloud track
the real issue with the cpus is that they just dont drift. its like theyre all on automatic

6:56 did you mean versions? theres nothing wrong with being in another region
custom track packs use their own "regions" separate from the normal mkwii regions so that people playing custom tracks online aren't interfering with people playing the base game online, and they also use regions separate from each other since different packs and pack updates have differences in the tracklist. having colliding or inconsistent regions in that sense would cause a lot of problems
