Dawn Sears was, by far, the most talented female country singer, who never hit it big (radio play or awards). She not only had a wonderful voice, but she had a delivery that so few ever develop and yet wish they could. My dad was a musician and singer, and I grew up going to dances on the weekends, and listening to a bunch of talented people jamming into the night, in someone's living room. If you grew up that way, then you get it, and this music takes me back to that. So much talent on that stage. Listening to them, keeps me up late, because I can hardly stand to turn 'em off. Thank you Jumpers for sharing your amazing talent.
@@johnb5309 it sounds like you get it. I feel sorry for people who love music but never got to experience what I did. It is beyond wonderful. I've watched the video of Dawn singing Sweet Memories with John Huey playing steel, more times than I can count. It gives me chills every single time. It is one of the greatest versions of any song ever played, bar none. They did what most people just dream of doing, in the way they touched listeners.
Wow...what a smoking band of musicians and singers...and major props to the sound recording, camera and lighting crew... Excellent...through and through..! America NEEDS more of this music...!!
I would give all I have to be with you my American friends! In this magical place, in the United States, with all this music singing in my heart ... My whole soul has been American since childhood. If this is the Divine will, I will one day come to meet you and share these beautiful melodies ! God bless the USA! Blessings from France
Stumbled across this looking for some country music was blown away by the talent on stage I played in a country cover band and can only wish we had that much talent I understand that Dawn Sears and John Hughey have since passed what a sad loss to the music world may they rest in peace
I love how they genuinely appreciate what each other brings to the table. There are real looks of admiration for each other's contributions. Just so amazing to see - deep collaboration rather than petty competition.
It;s been a LONG time since I've heard a band of this caliber. Each musician is top notch. They work extremely well together. When one solos the rest play rhythm! There's not a bunch of distracting "hot licks" taking attention away from the soloist. What knocks me out the most is the violinists/fiddlers have synchronised bow strokes. Usually one only sees this level of professionalism in orchestras. I'm absolutely blown away. If I still lived in Nashville Id be at the Station Inn every monday night.
They haven't played at The Station Inn for quite some time now, as the venue just wasn't big enough to support the burgeoning crowd. The festivities have been moved to the 3rd & Lindsley Bar & Grill, and if I lived in Nashville, I'd likely be there every Monday night as well!
"When one solos the rest play rhythm! There's not a bunch of distracting "hot licks" taking attention away from the soloist." That's Bluegrass tradition.
I don't think you could really replace any of them. Dawn really stands out due to her ability to move you emotionally with her voice. I think Nashville was scared to promote her because it would raise the bar too high and they didn't want people to expect it. There are several good female singers in Nashville and they can hit the "big notes". None of that really matters after you EXPERIENCE someone singing with the passion and emotion of Dawn Sears.
Such talented musicians! They are a joy to watch and listen to. Not only are they great musicians but they obviously enjoy playing off one another in turn! Such fun!
Amazing to watch such talented musicians just having fun. Aren't we lucky they share with us. Sounds better than anything I hear on the radio these days. RIP Dawn and John, thanks for sharing your talent with all of use. We're better for it.
Wow, wow, wow. I love Jazz and Country and this is like the best of both. As Kenny Sears called it, Cowboy Jazz. Lots of talent on that stage. God bless these musicians!
They are the BEST. You can really see the love they have for their music and each other. I was happy to stumble into this video of the THE TIME JUMPERS FAMILY REUNION.
What great talent this show has. Dawn Sears, John Hughey and many more all on one show. Nothing of today matches the quality of the entertainer here. Thanks for posting this.
Wonder what all those young tight butted little girls that are topping the charts today think when they hear someone like Dawn sing? Country music has all but disappeared and I know that singers like this won't be around any more. Miss that lady!!.
I was lucky enough to have seen John Hughey live at Radio City Music Hall as part of Dickey Bett's Bluegrass Band under the name: The Great American Music Show! Vassar Clements was also showcased! What a great concert!!!
You can tell how talented they are as session musicians by how tight this is for a live performance. It sounds like a studio session. Just incredible talent.
We were in Nashville a number of years ago and we were enjoying the music at Legends. John Huey was playing steel and I went up to the band to reqest "Kindly keep it country" and they all looked at each other, but John started playing it on steel! He and his lovely wife joined our table of 4 and visited us throughout the evening! I am so thrilled to have met them and enjoyed his talent at close range!!!
Every time that I hear these “studio magicians” It just blows my mind that people like that who know what they wanted to do and went for. Me I can’t make up my mind what to have for breakfast. Imagine how good they could be if they just practiced a little more.😂 Big fan of country family reunion. The only problem with that is that the stage keeps getting a little emptier each year. Rest in peace to all those that have passed.
Great comment you made here! It's all about love,,, in order to do ANYTHING well,, you MUST love what you want to do in order to excel at it! I'm an example myself,, when I decided to learn to play guitar. I had early on listened to a few guitarists, Dickey Betts (Allman Brothers!), Johnny Winter, Robben Ford, and Larry Carlton~!~ Once I heard them play guitar, that was it~!~ I would get goosebumps listening to Dickey Betts, and especially Larry Carlton~!~ I still get the chills listening to Larry, and Dickey play~!~ And so, the love began~!~ 40 years on, and I can play with musicians like the Time Jumpers, and jazz bands/quartet's ~!~ When I play people always tell me the same things:" Wow you gave me the chills",, "Your playing is so sweet and emotional", " You have such a unique style". It's all about LOVE~!~ PICK YOUR FAVORITE THING THAT MAKES YOU HAPPY,,, AND STICK TO IT LIKE ~GLUE~!!!!! Good luck to you~!~

What a blast watching each musician unleash ferocious virtuosity. Next time I hit Nashville, I am gonna roll right up to the Station Inn on Monday night, in hopes to catch the Time Jumpers.
+Wayne Clark - Just got back from my first trip to Nashville. For some reason, the good man above told us to go to 3rd & Lindsley for dinner and drinks on a Monday night. And guess who's playing... WOW. I think 3rd & Lindsley is their "regular" venue now. At least that's what we heard from others in the crowd. Still can't believe we were able to get tickets. And only $20. Unreal!! Absolutely worth every second of the 3.5 hour wait after we got inside! Can't wait to go back.
Dawn Sears had such a beautiful voice. First time ever heard her was when she was singing backup on Vince Gill's Just Say Hello. And what more can you say about John Huey

Good old country music at it's BEST~!~ John Huey the very best pedal steel player! RIP!
Wow, this is why I love Country music. The group is absolutely fabulous.

Rest in Peace Dawn Sears and John Hughey

Love The Time Jumpers
How cool to see Dawn perform Jeannie Seely's song in front of Jeannie Seely! Gotta love live music in Nashville!
Thankyou so much . What a great video for all time. So much talent. Thanks again !!!
What an amazing group of musicians. And Dawn Sears singing “Sweet Memories”, it doesn’t get any better than that.
I think I hold my breathe the whole time she sings that song. It's so beautiful!
