Storm was the best thing that happened this episode. Split episodes or not, it was well made.
Just for anyone who doesn’t know, the adversary is a variant or version of the shadow king. It is a form that he takes that has been recon in most recent comic books.

I feel like one thing that is constantly forgotten when channels critique the pace a show may take or how the dole out the stories is that the storywriters and artist do not dictate when and how long the series can go for. This isn't One Piece in Japan when the creator has free reign to create the art in their vision. Disney is given them this amount of time with no future guarantees outside of a second season which may be it's last.
What they have been able to do in the timeframe given has been amazing and I am loving it.

This panel definitely needed Black voices to touch on the subtext. I think yall missed some of the symbolism of Storm regaining her powers. Storm has spoken about having identity issues since the original show(also in the comics) and being torn between multiple worlds. It is also important to remember the Head Writer and Showrunner of Xmen 97(Seasons 1 and 2) is Beau Demayo a gay black man. So he is exploring a lot of subtext many might not be picking up on. Demayo even referenced George Floyd "I can't breathe" when Ororo is in the coffin. Storm's powers reignited because she came to terms with her own identity of what it means to be a Black woman who is also a mutant. Losing one's center because of the pressure of constantly fitting into this neat box in society. While being so unsure of yourself to the point of wanting to be something else. She regained her powers because she faced her fears head-on and realized who she was. That she is more than the suffocation of societal pressure, her traumas, and fears. She obtained the actualization that she is the lightning, she is resilience, and she is the Storm.
Evan should do more of those little short films like “special lunch” and the little promo, that was so enjoyable 😊

Since I've taken up gardening recently I understood what Erik was saying lol. A tomato plant has a main stem (sacred timeline). It has side branches where it is still in the same universe or plant. But when a branch grows out of the armpit area, suckers, it becomes a new plant that can be detached from the main stem. Suckers are new universes.

Love the video, but missing a black voice! Especially considering this episode leaned heavily on a black female character. There’s a white nerd voice connected to every video and I’m looking forward to regularly seeing a wider variety of perspectives!

I definitely wish I could voice how dope the story arc for Storm was. 1) Forge was the cause for all her pain (gun & the adversary) and she still fought through both & loved him anyway.

Also, I found it odd that they were on Deathbirds side with her challenge to Lilandra… They say she doesn’t get to be with Charles AND rule, but that’s like saying you can’t be president, prime minister, Prince, or whatever if you choose to honor your love with someone from a different racial or national background.

If they stick to the comics it will be revealed that Apocalypse is the puppet master behind Mr. Sinister. An I think we are seeing the seeds being planted for the introduction of Onslaught as well as the Age of Apocalypse.
If you pay attention to how Magneto and the X-Men are talking, none of them ever said Xavier was dead. Other people would say that while talking to them. They all know he's in space, but they don't know whether or not he survived because no one has reached out to them.

🎉🎉❤❤ hey guys so I’m a I’m taking another rewatch episode six and what I am picking up from the dialogue between storm and adversary is that adversary has been messing around with for quite a while and now that storm is there it’s like fresh meat for adversary, cause I’m listening to the conversation I’m listening to whatever saying to so that’s basically where I’m at. It’s it’s all there in the conversation. You just have to listen to what they’re saying and how they’re saying it.

Adversary is many forms in the comics. One form is the Shadow King. Adversary is a fear demon he can't be destroyed . Roma had to help the XMen beat the Adversary

i just rewatched the original series and i think everyone forgot that during the season 4 apocalypse arc when apocalypse was essentially erased from time, sinister escaped through time before the psychics erased apocalypse. so basically this sinister is just the continuation of apocalypse plan from the season 4, 4 parter(which by the way at the very end of, charles has a conversation with magneto while standing.)

It baffles me that no one has even considered Stryfe being involved....
Maybe Sinister did use the attack to kidnap mutants. Sinister kidnapped Morph after he was "killed" by Sentinels.
And Apocalypse doesn't want mutants to rule the world. Apocalypse is as far beyond mutants as mutants are beyond humans. There is no freedom from Apocalypse, there is only freedom through Apocalypse.
I think they wanted to show where the other X-men were in their own lives when they found out about genosha…which sadly brings them all together again
I dont think Professor Xs’ most powerful gift was his but rather his ability to teach thus bringing them to a class room
Calling it now episode eight we’re going to see onslaught versus Apocalypse! Apocalypse is using the psychics to communicate and using psylocke and sister Deathbird in on this as well!

I am definitely team "Obi-Wan felt millions of souls cry out in anguish and suddenly silenced", as far as Xavier's visions. No one sent the visions to him; he's a powerful enough telepath / psychic that he'd be sensitive to something affecting that many mutants at once.

Re: Animorphs, it was the Ellimist using the Animorphs and pitting them against Crayak (not Cyttorak) and his Howlers. Anyway, nice shoutout to a relatively obscure property with AMAZING characters.

My theory after watching this episode. Sinister is working with Apocalypse. Gambit is now a Horsman, Death. 💀
It honestly feels like Sinister and Apocalypse are in cahoots. They're trying to purge out all the boring/lame powered mutants and having only the strongest/best combat mutants survive and this was their way of ensuring it. Sinister gets better selection of genes to pull from and Apocalypse gets to rid of all the weak mutants. Everyone wins (except for Genosha of course 😅)

About Time Travel:
I don’t know if the original took timeline changing seriously or if previous timelines still exists. I hope they do take it as any altered timelines will still remain and that the new timeline of they’re going to try to avoid or minimise the tragedy that they do still remember the loses and sacrifices that had occurred in the branch timeline.
I can't wait to see Jessica's thoughts on this one

I don't agree with them this time. Storm always had a lingering doubt and was subconsciously worried about using her powers in the originally series. Then, in episode 2 she talked with Madelyn about her worries and fears showing she always had a mental block of some sort in her mind and was always holding back her powers because of what could happen if she didn't and people's reaction to her. It wasn't messy at all. It was her story but Forge was her guide. Also, the energy from his device worked but it was her mental block and doubt that kept her powers at bay in episode 4 which is why it didn't work.
Now, she overcame her demon, the Adversary, her manifested fear and doubt in physical form and came back stronger than ever. Her journey felt earned but to each their own, I guess.
This was literally lifedeath. They also broke lifedeath up so it felt that some time had lapsed between the two lifedeath parts to show it had been a while so it wasn't all just rushed in one episode.
I completely agree with you. I thought they did a great job with covering the lifedeath storyline.

Charles didn't have a vision of Magneto's death. He'd definitely see it if it happened, so I'm assuming Magneto returns. Possibly in the season finale as a villain to humans again.
