The story about the Nobel prize is pretty interesting! Alfred Nobel (who invented the dynamite) was mistaken for dead when his brother died so he got to see what the newspapers wrote about him after his "death". And they had some pretty harsh things to say about his dynamite and how it basically made the world a worse place. He didn't want this to be the view people had of him so he started the Nobel Prize fund where each year people who have made advances that benifit humanity are awarded for it. And that is how he is remembered now, so it worked :)

The U.S. is so screwed up compared to Sweden, and Europe in general. They are miles ahead of us. People here are so greedy and nasty. President Biden wants to help college people get loans forgiven so you gave to start out in 100,000 of debt.Who the hell can do that????? So many are angry about it saying that's not fair I didn't get that. So because a President didn't do that for you no one can be helped??? Sick. This country's only for the rich. But of course many countries have their own kind of meatballs/"meatcakes"/burgers like Italy Turkey Denmark Norway Mexico USA etc.....perhaps every meat-eating nation has one they call their own invention?

Volvo was not sold as they said, only Volvo Cars was sold but still works as a Swedish company but the big part, Volvo is still not sold and they make a lot of money on trucks, engines and more. They say Sweden also was one of the poorest countries in Europe, that is not correct but we had a lot of poor people which was pretty common at this time in Europe. About Swedish Meatballs is from Turkey is a pure lie, some people belive that, but nothing is the same in the Swedish recipe compared to any similar dishes in Turkey. But Swedish cabbage rolls comes from Turkey.

How much tax you pay is irrelevant.
What you _get_ for the money you have left over is all that matters.
I pay twice as much tax as an american...
But I work 32 hours a week in a job that requires 0 education or experience and all my expenses (living in a 3 room apartment in an expensive city) is roughly 40% of my pay check.
After I payed for EVERYTHING for the whole month, I still have 60% of the money I was payed after taxes.
So... even with twice the tax, I still get about 5 times more for the hours I work compared to the average american.
You can have a billion dollars, if a loaf of bread cost 900 million, youre still poor.

The taxes are put into work... As an example, there are only 10 states in the US that are more economical to live in... We get all, for free. Some People here off course complain and have mindghosts, but that's what social media does to you, and a lack of world knowledge and experience of travelling "out of the tourist comfort zone". We are amongst the the first countries to be concidered "smoke free" (less than 5% use cigarettes, or other smoking tobacco. We use "snus") and we are spolied as brats and taking much for granted. But there is not many places that are better...

It's really a disgrace that those English-speaking videos never manage to pronounce the 'IKEA' name correctly - it is NOT 'eye'kee-ah' but 'ee-keh-ah'. How difficult can that really be? Furthermore, it's not correct that meatballs came to Sweden from Turkey. Meatballs exists in many countries worldwide and is definitely not a Turkish 'invention'.

@@Vinterfrid those with an ignorant brain… are you saying I’m ignorant because I don’t think pronouncing IKEA correctly (in the way we do in Sweden) is such a big deal and that I find that to be a very small issue (if even at all) compared to all the things going on in the world. I am Swedish and I’m pretty shore Ivar Kamprad if he was still alive would have no issues at all with people pronouncing IKEA “wrong” or different. He would just be happy that they are talking about and shopping at IKEA. And about the meatballs.. Sweden actually admitted on their official Twitter account on 4 of April 2018 that yes. “Swedish meatballs are actually based on a recipe King Charles XII brought home from Turkey in the early 18th century”. Although I would say that Swedish meatballs are nowadays influenced by Turkish meatballs but very much Swedish and a completely different thing than Turkish meatballs. Both of them amazing but very different. Acknowledging that meatballs originated in Turkey does not make Swedish meatballs any less good or any less Swedish. People have traveled and immigrated to new places and different countries for as long as there have been humans. So of course we have influenced each other and learned and shared with each other.

In Sweden every time you go see a doctor you pay 25 $ and when reaching 130 $ you don’t pay anything more for the rest of the year - the rule is maximum 130 $ for public health care during 12 months.
Same with medication - when you reach 250 $ you don’t pay anything more for your medication for the rest of the year.
Staying at a hospital is 12 $ per day. So yes, one doesn’t need to worry about being ill in Sweden and I am so thankful for this - definitively makes it worth paying the taxes!
