When you watch older videos of him, he sounds like half white, half Asian; except he just kept saying "Y'all" all the time, you can hear him getting blacker and blacker as his fake accent progresses over the last 8 years, he used to have those distinct Asian tones and aspirations.
There's a broader group to appeal to this way, and seeing how hes not a very funny comedian, the path of least resistance is to just go with what works best. Or he has fake accent syndrome
