I honestly can't believe that Molly had to go to that extreme to prove that she is blind. What kind of world do we live in were a blind woman has to take a polygraph test to convince people that she is actually blind.
She didn't "have" to take a polygraph test, she did this for views and I think it was a dumb stunt. It makes me question her maturity, although she is only 24 and her audience is young people.

What I find incredible is she wasn't American from the get go. She was Canadian, she got the dog from Mira....they don't hand out dogs like candy. They ask for proof of your blindness from a doctor. That's apart from it being pretty clear in her video's she's not faking it.

Well he did verbally explain what he was showing or pointing to on the chart so I think he meant that he was going to explain it and show it to the audience but saying explain probably didn’t occur and most people don’t change speech like that regularly because most are sighted

That’s caused by a completely different disease she was also born with.. it doesn’t have any effect on her vision! When she was born her head did the same thing, but as she got older it quit. So now just her eyes shake!

That's what is tough with my left eye. I can still see color (for about 30 minutes) when I look with just that eye, which means I can count how many fingers there are. Because you tan hand is an entirely separate color from the gray background, and I can see two slits of gray, in between the three tan splotches of color that are raised. But ask me to read anything or even guess who is who if you all have brown hair, and I can't tell you
You can even tell if she’s blind by watching closely at her eyes. They quiver when they look straight at the camera, as they cannot focus.

It’s so stupid tbh that people fake illnesses. A lot of people I used to go to school with used to fake having cancer etc to be able to get sympathy from others. But the fact that you have 6 blind children is insane, they must make you so proud
People would probably fake blind because they’re desperate for attention but I feel like most of them would go back to living as a sighted person once they realise how many advantages they would have to give up if they were blind and would see that most of the time they wouldn’t be getting the kind of attention they were looking for (instead of sympathy and friends, they’d most likely receive countless personal questions, being talked down to, being underestimated and being talked about to other people right in front of them, instead of people speaking directly to them).

From what I understand, when Molly went through the worst of her bullying she was in middle and high school. Kids and teens that age are going through a lot and often lash out at anyone who is different. It sucks, but they honestly don't understand the impact their actions can have. They may understand that it's wrong and hurtful, but they aren't thinking long term.
Sometimes these people never grow beyond that, and sometimes they get angry when people who are "worse off" than them end up being more successful.
There are also people out there that WOULD fake an injury or disability to gain sympathy and success, and people who assume that everyone is faking or exaggerating their struggles because they've done it or been fooled before.
People suck sometimes, but everyone has their own struggles and hardships and their own ways of coping. Its hard to empathize with something you've never experienced and it's easier to say it can't be that bad or that someone's faking than to accept what you don't understand.

It is disheartening to hear how many people think that you are faking being blind. It just goes to show all the research done on how people stereotype and perpetuate stereotypes of what they think a blind person should look and act like. Blindness is a low incidence disability and people who are not educated about it should not be making these comments.

It hurts me because i lost some of my hearing in both ears as a baby (mild-moderate hearing loss in both ears) and i needed hearing aids but never got them and people think I'm faking it.
It hurts me inside that people think people with disabilities are faking them.
It's ROUGH, especially when it's an "invisible illness". I have moderate-severe hypermobile Ehler-Danlos, and when it's below freezing out, I walk with a cane to the bus stop, because if feels like all the collagen, scar tissue, and osteoarthritis in my knee(two surgeries on my left knee, absolutely no cartilage left, but plenty of arthritis and scar tissue) turns to concrete, so I need help in cold temps. But in warmer temps, my joint moves more freely, so people that have seen me on the bus with a cane, but walking around my job(which is indoors, and heated) think I'm faking. Some days it takes me twenty minutes just to get out of bed, my joints are so stiff and painful, especially my knee. And just tonight since it snowed today and was super cold, I am having trouble walking just to the bathroom, my knee hurts so much. Sure, I get that people can't see the inside of my knee(which, I actually have pictures my orthopedic surgeon gave to me on disc from inside my knee for both surgeries, so you can on my FB haha), and I get people are curious, but outright accusations are shit. I don't use my knee as an excuse for anything. I still work, I do my best to stay mobile, and I just live with the pain. I have for nearly a quarter of a century now. Trust me, I WISH I were faking my joint issues. It would be less painful. :(

I've never ever doubted your blindness. I'm not legally blind but I do have terrible eye sight and you and I both have big pupils. And it's obvious you're blind by the way your eyes move.
