Great vid! You're right about being careful about where you collect decor. :) Another place to get rocks are gravel yards. I got a 5 gallon bucket full for $2.50 and they have a wide selection as well. Thanks for collabing with me! 😄

I have been neglecting my pet turtle for 3 years ( i regret it deeply) when I first got him I kept him in a small tank with no special lighting. Your videos have inspired me to give my turtle everything he needs. I will soon be puting him in a 50 gallon kiddie pool outside,With sand on the bottom and plenty of basking areas. (I'll make sure he cant escape, or that no animal can get to him)

we rescued a musk and a red eared slider, they're probably about 20 years old and they've stayed super healthy so far. But it's time for new big tanks and some new things for them. Cheers from Cocoa Beach, Fl!

I am a huge fan of rocks for a couple of reasons. WillieEarl & BuelaMae seem to enjoy it. I think rocks provide the most natural in appearance.

For my baby snapping turtle I have no artificial decorations in the aquarium and I have lots of wild plants and rocks and drift wood I’ve found out by my creek and it looks very cool I also have pond snails and some minnows I found in my creek as well

Hi Danny! I don't know if you already did a video about the topic I'm going to talk about, but what do you do if a turtle has a cut? I don't have any vets for reptiles in my city and my friends turtle has a cut on her "arm"
First thing to do would be identify how it happened so that you can prevent the turtle from hurting itself again. Next to do would be apply a diluted Betadine solution and dry dock after application for about an hour. Turtles are tough and it should recover just fine, unless it's extremely deep.

Heyyaaa... Please tell me wat kind of tank is recommended for turtles??? I hv 2 juvenile red eared sliders. Shud i go for fiber ones or glass ones??? Also does filters clear the turtle poop??? In how many days can i clean the tank if i m using the filter????

If it was in the water in the beach, you should wash it because of the salt water. Just an idea 😁

What do you use the white hook on back of tank for.
Good question! Those are to ensure that the wood piece I have the heat lamp attached to doesnt fall left or right, the hooks will stop it
can I use Australian Eucalyptus tree (without the leaves) ?

Is plant fertilizers safe for turtles? Like for instance API Leaf Zone?
I actually am not sure...definitely look more into it, I think it should be though.

Dan, I have a clear tank for my slider. I have to clean the tank walls every water change. Do you have to do the same with your turtle set up?
Not at all!! Just glass allows for the buildup of algae more easily I find. Do you feed in the tank? Algae comes from high nitrates which may be from an influx of nutrients
@@DanTheTurtleMan_ that's good to hear. I'm considering ur type of set up when my slider gets bigger. He's about a yr old now. Yes I feed him in the tank. I put some in his fish feeder and some loose on the water and some on his floating basking area.

@@godofwarkratos feeding in tank can increase the nitrates and cause your algae problems! More water changes my friend, or feed outside the enclosure

I am not sure what state you are in but this is just a offer as I think you are in my state of Florida. But would you sell or trade any concentric terripans babies that you produce in person for albino morph species that I produce? You are more than welcome to come here in Florida to hand pick as I don't like buying much online from many but like you, I have a few I trust. If you are not interested, what is your going prices on these as I know the price range well. Are you close enough by being in Florida?

uh i found this baby turtle in the middle of the road and its back legs don't work and i didn't see the mom or the other babies can you please help this is my first turtle ever in my life i'm 17 i love animals i had about almost everything that's legal to have lol i just went out and spent over 100$ today for him the uvb and the heat light but since he can use two feet the one upfront he can't swim good so i have the water where its good for him to go under fully and swim and come up safely and he gets stuck on everything i can't sleep cause if i do the hes stuck when i wake up i got gravel for the bottom i'm on night 5 barelt any sleep since i got him HELP

Hey Dan sorry I haven't talked to you in a while in regards to my diamond back terripin I just wanted to let you know I have him to a local fish store that has many other diamond back terripins well a local actually came to pick him up he's in a tub with a concentric diamond back terripin he's doing well he's also eating many things such as snails and crawfish anyways sorry I could not give him to you i was caught up in a lot of stuff and had no time to get in touch with you to take her

We have a couple of fake plants in the tank with our turtle. He used to love just hiding in it and sleeping in it, still does sometimes. Though now most of the time he just pushes it around and try to bite it (hasn't bitten any pieces off). XD
😂😂😂They often grow out of enjoying fake plants and just try to eat em
