The review I have been waiting for. I back the main man up here and say this bike is awesome. I have one and love every minute of it. The hardtail is value added and not a subtraction.
Love my Purple Ramblus updated wheels and dropper post lever! It helps my mental game, as I battle cancer with this beast!

Great review, by far the most thorough take and easy to understand. I’m glad I got my Ramblas when I did. I thought it was difficult to come by before, this positive review is about to make twice as hard to find one at local shops 😂

Yeah CZcams was not being nice. But it worked its self out after a few.
My bike shop said they were getting one in within the week and I up and bought one of my own anyways (to fair they were getting the M and I knew I needed XL).

I am really looking forward to putting a lot more miles on this bike over the summer to see how it holds up. But so far it is a great bike.
We found the rattle was from the battery cover. I took some foam tape and stuck it to the back of the cover and it cleared up most of the noise.

I too have this bike and was able to use the stock rims with tubeless ready tires and covert it. I went with the Michelin Wild AM's and love them as I have used them on my standard hardtail. Great overall bike but I however had to swap out the cable housing, cable and dropper post lever in order to get my dropper post to operate properly. Way too much slack shoved into the frame as I quickly found out upon inspection, causing kink in cable. But she's butter smooth now and really enjoying this bike. Turbo mode is EPIC!!!

16:31 I ordered on. Going with new tubeless rings and higher me maxis tires. A 2.6 in the rear . Dealers and CZcamsrs say no stock rims cannot be taped/sealed.
I own one and love it, but yes the bottom bracket clanging, can be Annoying. Great review. 👍
Love my Ramblas. The light mount is a bit weak, and should have been made of CNC aluminum. It's the one area that can't be upgraded easily as it has a different mount from even other Aventon models. Mine broke under normal use. I also had some slight issues with the dropper clutch after breakin but nothing big deal. Love the bike!
I do wish they had designed fender options into the design.
I test rode this on Tuesday. It was a great, fun ride, and that turbo really does blast off. However, the gear levels to shift are funky. Both go in the same direction, but it's not as intuitive.
SRAM is different if you aren’t use to it. I rode Shimano for years and the 1st time with SRAM I was like how does this work.
It is a bit odd at first and so much louder than anything else I've ever had. But so far, I love it.
Can a rear rack be attached to the Ramblas?
It doesn’t have mount points so you would have to get one made for a bike with no rack mount points.
@@RunBikeMike if you added one that attached to the dropper post would that cause grief? I have one that just attaches to the seat stem on my Specialized Hardrock mtb.
@troup1998 if it is below on the part of the dropper that doesn’t move then it should be fine. Just don’t over tighten it.
The rattling from the motor is unacceptable for a bike that costs this much. Period.
You’re one of the few people who’ve tested the Ramblas and the Summit. Right now, I ride a velotric T1 st and I’m considering another bike. I’m split between this and the summit. My bike use case is a lot of paved and some light trail riding. Mostly paved though. I thought I’d like the higher speed of the summit but now I’m considering that I might actually prefer the mid drive. If you needed one bike to do everything which would you choose?
I would go mid drive but it is a very personal decision. I do a lot more mtb riding than road. The summit hits 31mph so it is very quick. But the Ramblas mid drive is super precise for technical trails. Plus the components on the Ramblas are much higherend.
If you’re truly looking for one to do it all, I would pick a mid drive over a rear drive just for simplicity of changing flats. Especially if you’re commuting on it.
I am waiting. The rattling is not acceptable. Not tubeless ready? Nope. Should have popped on Sram GX. Then you can fast shift. But the rattle and tubes only? For mountain biking? They know it's a bad call. Passing for now. Excellent review. I appreciate your rattle comments. And more importantly, seeing the bike on some rocky tech. You did not mention handling of 60 lbs. Even with the new color, I would unpack it, and have buyers remorse.
I fully understand. The weight is no big deal. It feels much lighter than its actual weight. The other color is available now but qty is low and from what I was told is limited. I might put GX transmission on it but that will be for a later date. Wheels hit at a higher importance than shifting for now. I am glad you found the review useful.
Follow up. Tannus liners. That would help I think to stop flats?

Aventon doesn't build their own frame and motor. These are made in China and contracted through 3rd Party manufacturers. Sure, did Aventon help design them, absolutely. But to say they built them is misleading. Also, this is how almost all manufacturers have their products made so it's not abnormal. Very few manufacturers actually build their own products.
They do own the factory for their frames. They design them and build them in their factory. They work with a motor company to make a custom motor just for them.
