I know Gerald hasn't mentioned where his frustration came from, but if you go back and watch his "Sigma FP L" camera review, and he caca all over that camera, to the point there were parodies were created (check @ Camera conspiracies), I knew he was on demon time and some brands where not "paying up" or "being helpful" or "giving loaners for reviews", and he pushed, but they push back. You dont want to anger the gods, the people that pay the bills, this whole CZcams/Reviewer system is rigged, there are only a few small CZcamsrs giving honest reviews and they get pushed out cause the CZcams Algorithm machine doesn't push those honest reviews. It's all a big gig, the money flows from the top, not from the free viewers. You dont even have to put your conspiracy hat on to see what's going on. Great video.

I agree with your take on the Lumix influencers. It's hard to find honest, not paid for reviews of Lumix cameras, but Sony has always been the king of strongarming influencers. I also think the S9 looks like an overpriced, under featured POS. I also agree that for most people who don't care about picture quality on anything bigger than a phone screen, phone cameras do the job as long as you never zoom in on your subjects. That said, I have a Lumix G100, and it's a great camera, especially with the 25mm prime and the 14-140mm telephoto. I recently bought the Lumix S5IIX with several good lenses, and I couldn't be happier. I can afford more expensive cameras and lenses, but Sony and Canon's offerings don't appeal to me. I've owned mid-range prosumer cameras from both brands, and they sat on the shelf a lot.

Audiences for YT camera content get the fact that the influencer is compromised by $ - we can see thru it and form our own views, as we do with all other media we consume. As for the S9, it’s going after a valid future focussed market segment … I’d buy one, use my Z30 in much the same way this camera is pitched. And the LUTs feature is a stroke of genius IMO…just saying ;-)

MFT is little use to me. The only reasons I spend any time with it is nostalgia, and the fact that it's a lens mount used on some black magic pocket cinema cameras that are used by our church.
The S9 is so geared toward the influencer/content creator that it's just not on my radar. No EVF, no flash option, poor supply line support, tiny batteries, too many compromises for size and price point. So, yeah, it's a cool new niche toy that doesn't apply to me.
    Keep rockin man.

And that's why Panasonic now have some excellent full frame cameras which are currently better than the Nikon and Canon lower price options. For some reason they are undervalued. They have the best IBIS for example and great video features with much better ergonomics. I don't even use them but I'm looking at their cameras now especially for video. Nikon has been behind Panasonic in full frame frame mirrorless until recently but it's only their higher priced cameras which have finally come up to scratch. The Z6III needs to be seriously good or they will actually hand more market to competitors like Sony or even Panasonic for that matter when it comes to video. Canon aren't quite up to scratch either yet.

Companies like Sony and Canon have rapid camera release cycles. Many influencers are reluctant to persuade their followers to move away from the 35mm format. This hesitation stems from the potential challenges that may arise from the slow introduction of medium format and micro 4/3s cameras. As a result, influencers may end up producing less content and generating less revenue.

The S9 is a vlogging camera. Made for those who want to just do vlogging videos and talk to the camera. They have no intrest in doing profissional work all they want is to promote themselves and make CZcams or Tik tok videos. Its not for profissionals that do client base jobs. I have watched vidoes by those who shoot weddings and client work with the S5ii. I have often said before the S9 came out Lumix don't make camera for vloggers they make them for film makers. Of course the world has become vlogging and most CZcamsrs today just want to talk to camera instead of actually standing behind the camera , hence why Lumix brought out the s9. The S9 can also be linked to the lumix lab app. Where you can do some small editing an add luts. Soon they will probably have it so you can edite vidoes in your phone to then post straight to social media. The S5II is a great camera. Better than Nikon or Canon at the same price point. Sony is technically ahead with some things but handling ad quality of Sony's is bad. They fail. I use Sony mainly because up until recently, Nikon and Canon were many years behind and they are still behind. I would move to Nikon especially if they get their act together with the Z6III which they absolutely need to do or they are in trouble. I have lots of old vintage Nikon lenses and they are spectacularly good. Will you invite me if I fight, piss on floor, get drunk, poop in your house during your party with your friends and family?
Regarding LUMIX I don’t agree with you. Lumix is not even 20 years old and was previously a point and shooter. With the m43 they entered in the interchangeable cameras. So they are only around 12 or 14 years in the interchangeable camera business.
Don’t forget that Leica need Panasonic to provide them the technology. Leica cameras are made and mostly by Panasonic.
Regarding the camcorder business this is not the Lumix division but another division. Panasonic is still market leader in the professional broadcast video market with Sony. Don’t confuse broadcast with the Cinema market. Most television stations uses Panasonic equipment in their studio and mobile studios for live. What you are referring with camcorders are the consumers camcorder that is not produced anymore by JVC, Sony, Canon or Panasonic. For all 4 brands the professional departments produce camcorders for the professional market to be used in ENG (Electronic News Gathering) environments. Camcorders like X -H2, X-H20 and others from Panasonic are market leaders in the ENG environments. In the broadcast space Panasonic is leader. Have you ever went to NAB show and watched the Panasonic booth. They always have the biggest and loudest booth as they are the marketleader. At IBC in Amsterdam they also have the biggest and most visited booth.
Al live events broadcasted are done mainly with Panasonic studio cameras and Fujilm lenses. Fujifilm is also big in broadcasting lenses. Don’t confuse broadcast with Cinema world. In the Cinema world Panasonic is small compared to Sony.
Photographers does not have idea of the video market, which is divided by Cinema and broadcast. Sony and Panasonic both wants to be in all 3 markets, mirrorless, Cinema and Broadcast. Sony is doing good in Cinema and mirrorless, but not in the broadcast. So don’t count that the Lumix brand will disappear.

The S5II is great. It's interesting that some people commenting on here and possibly the video creator himself seem to have little knowledge about that camera. I'm considering using Lumix now. I use old manual focus lenses so I don't need the latest autofocus which Panasonic have fixed now anyway but I looked at the older S1 which an amazing camera for silly second hand price. The IBIS on the Lumix is superb as well. I think the problems with this S9 launch are actually created by these very talking commentators we see in this video rather than the people that went to that launch. The fanboyism in photo/video is hideous. I can move to any camera since I'm not invested in lenses. I see Lumix as actually the best option at the moment. I'm sick of Sony's low quality and failures and if Nikon don't do a serious job with the Z6III they will be in trouble at the lower end of the market. Photographers seem to have no clue about video either which is where Panasonic is really good.

From a marketing perspective, Panasonic is on top of there game right now. It seems everyone is talking about the so called dead on arrival S9.
As ya'll know, I'm a 35mm film photographer so new gear doesn't matter to me too much for my own work, but I do look forward to it non the less regardless of brand because I am a camera sales man at heart.
    That said!
My television is a Panny, my Blu-ray player is a Panny and guess what!? The sensor in my Olympus EM-1 and both Nikon D700s are Panny sensors.
    WHY!?
Because I LOVE the color science from Panasonic. Not so much modern Panny cameras though because they use Sony sensors. I'm all about Panny sensors regardless of which camera brands are using them. A shame Panasonic no longer makes their own sensors. Mr. Albert Jimenez knows what I'm talking about.

whatever he is, that rant/ video generated so much buzz for lumix. I even started watching S9 videos and Im a fan. Im liking that camera more and more. I like to root for the underdog sometimes.

@@Vahagraphy I’ll probably get one in a year or so because I can’t justify trading in my sigma fp for it.

@@Vahagraphy I think you are right about this and many people may look at Lumix now. I generally disagree with the tone of your video though. Panasonic have a very good full frame cameras with the S5II. It's currently better than Nikon or Canons offerings at the same price. Nikon has to come up with something extremely good with the Z6III or they will be beaten by Sony and in fact even Panasonic but it seems that Panasonic is a bit invisible in photography since they are known for video. I looked at an older S1 recently. That is a great camera for the silly low prices it goes for second hand. At the lower end of the market Canon and Nikon have still not got their act together. I would move to Nikon from Sony but they simply have no truly competed yet. I actually hate Sony. They are bad quality. Bad UI and high failure rate but technically they have led the market with mirrorless.

Do you know really annoys me Is the money day spending on these trips?Everyone could be a reduction in costing the camera camera.Think about it.They're spending all this money to promote their camera. And that just pushes the price of the camera up.I will never buy a lumix

what make me more angry, these kind of contents make people do a bad decision of their next camera. it’s not a bubble gum or potato chips, it cost 1500usd. this amount of money nothing for someone but i’m sure it’s huge deal of money for most of people

So you are angry at lumix because they do these trip events to market their new products but are a shill at sony and the other brands when they do it? This is a new way of marketing cameras or are you too dumb to understand it?

All the camera companies do this, so you would not be able to buy any camera if that is the case. It is cheaper to do this then spend millions of ad spend on tv when they get all this press on youtube.

Oh man, like your videos, but it’s total BS. You’re as a Nikon lover should remember times when people were saying Nikon had 2 years left as a company. I personally think s9 is cool little camera. And L alliance didn’t do never all this money to shut the business down, there’s more than Panasonic.
