After I graduated in B.S in Electrical Engineering I started taking Stanford Algorithms Specialization after reading algorithms book by grokkings. I just finished the first course and couldn't bring myself to continue the rest due to my lack of knowledge in algorithms and the specialization isn't for beginners 😅 UC San Diego seems good for beginners. Thanks Greg for lighting up my old passion for computer science 😊
Yeah, the Stanford one is TOUGH. Hope there's better luck with this one!
Thank you Greg for updating us with such important stuff!
You're super welcome :)
thank you so much !
Very welcome 😄😊
That indeed was helpful😉
Great!
@GregHogg I think this course is no longer available for the general public. I'm saying this because, whenever I look at this course webpage, it is showing a popup stating "It looks like you haven't joined CU on Coursera". THere is no enroll option too, I think this course is available for people enrolled in CU. Please correct me if iI'm wrong and help me.
Thank you so much Greg. I have two questions:
first: this course have the same level that the MicroMasters Program in
Algorithms and Data Structure of EDX?
Second: can you make a video of the MicroMaster of Big Data (University of Adelaide)?
1. MicroMasters is probably harder. 2. Sure, I can take a look at that at some point :). You're very welcome!
Hi Greg,
Thank you so much Greg. I am planning to take up this specialisation.
I wanted to ask if I will be to program the assignments in C++?
Hey, you're very welcome. Yes that's one of the allowed languages.
Is it good?
What happened to the course?
Is the course good for CP in codeforces??
Is this course suitable for beginners? I know the surface of the subject but never really had the chance diving into it.
It is suitable for beginners to intermediate I would say
Hey, Your video is so helpful. I wanna ask you this course requires discrete maths so should I worry about it.
Yes, I would know some mathematics going in.
hahaha Why do you keep doing these reactions on the thumbnail? Good video as always!
Hahaha gotta make data structures look exciting you know!
Hi - I'd like to take a course - i dont have formal cs background. But I have to use stuff liek graphs for work - and i'd like to learn this from scratch - and not just form the point of view of interviews. Wont be interviewing in the immediate future - is this course good for that? I took Jose portilla
s udemy course - but it was just focused on interviews.. He's a great instructor but I want to learn it for applying it at work.
Yes this course would be good for that
hey can you clarify my doubt?
if i enroll for the Data Structures and Algorithms Specialization am i accessibile to all the 6 courses in it?
or i should enroll for each course again and again?
Enroll is to get the certificate if you complete each of the courses.
@@GregHogg so if i buy the Specialization and if i complete all 6 courses..do i get 6 certificates?
@@pawanphanishwar9270 Each course might give a certificate, but you really only care about the whole specialization certificate
@@GregHogg thanks 👍
Will there be any deadline for completing the course ?
Soft not hard
Is it possible to start without learning discrete math ?
Yeah go ahead
is it better than Algorithms Specialization from Stanford?
It'll be a little less rigorous. That's the main difference
@@GregHogg so what is the best choice between them in your opinion?
@@georgesalib5661 Probably this one
is it in python?
Multiple options. It could be
Is this course taught in python?
It could be, there's a few you can choose from
@@GregHogg Thank you. Does that mean if I finish CS50x or CS50p this would be a great follow up course to take?
