It's 2015. It is clear she doesn't try hard enough to obtain visitation or at the least custody. She is possibly unfit and or irresponsible when it comes to being a mom. I don't believe a word she says.

LITA is one of my favorite guitar Heroes and I know for a fact she loves those 2 sons of her's James and Rocco. If James and Rocco are saying that their Mother is abusive and have mentle issues,etc.....Let them bring forth proof and legal documents so we may examine them and hopefully come to the TRUTH.. Why isnt the husband James Gillette [[I think his name is]] coming foreward and giving his side. If he isnt doing anything wrong then why stay in hiding and keep the kids with him? BE A MAN and come foreward .

Probably. Nobody's actions are pristine 24/7. But her actions may not have been relationship breakers.

I think a lot of people don't give her enough credit. If you watch her reaction and interaction between her and Jim in past interviews, you can see by her body language that something was wrong. He is a very intimidating person! And in this interview, she does seem to avoid questions etc but also, maybe she doesn't want to all about it on detail because it's painful. No doubt she's not a perfect person or mother. But also, maybe she's legally not able to talk about certain things. My heart goes out to her.
It's just a guess anyway, based on what I've seen in videos. I could be wrong too lol who knows. She makes great music and I'll always be a fan
No matter what I feel for her sadness. The children are 14 and 18 so they have a say in the matter. Hard to climb out of that hole.
if you listen to the Jim interviews, it doesnt look good for lita.
This whole story is suss. A mother does not give away all custody of her kids to the father if she thinks the father is abusing them. That is the opposite of what you do. Then she runs off on all these minor tangents without any clear explanation of the overall reasons she hasn't seen her kids. She says he has disappeared for five years, and he is in violation of visiting rights but then says she signed over total custody.
She should have a very clear knowledge of what happened legally unless she doesn't care of she is lying. She has every right not to answer but she should just say so.

Shame on Opie Radio for prying so hard into this case. If she is mentally ill then they are taking advantage of her for ratings. Lita should not even be talking about this. Her ex-husband was granted sole legal which is super rare.
Yes, and for the softball questions. Where's the loud mouthed, obnoxious Jim Norton that shouted insults at Jesse Ventura literally driving Jesse out of the studio. Lita stated it was a global problem with courts discriminating against mothers, which Opie and crew let go. Then, Lita stated "some person" reported to the judge that she was speeding down the highway with her kids, and that "some person" saw the speedometer at 90 mph.
Then she admits it was a CHILD PROTECTIVE SERVICES AGENT. ... LOL!!
Lita tried to water that down which is a form of lying. What else is she watering down and lying about?
Realistically, I don't think CPS should be using speeding issues to take custody of a child away from a parent, and I believe CPS needs to be disbanded because they're constantly violating the 4th amendment rights of citizens, and they take children out of homes and put them in foster homes that abuse children.
Just that if you really listen to what Lita is saying, she's making a case that she's somewhat unhinged.

@@Mitzi73 Yes, she was speaking cautiously. Considering what her son posted when he was 18, a year before this Opie interview, she really shouldn't have been talking about this period.
One of the most common abuses women inflict on their husbands, children and those around them are manipulation tactics.
It's like she thinks she can make all these public allegations and they will somehow manipulate her sons into wanting to see her again, when all its doing is pushing them further away.
Most women refuse to have a real sit down with their husbands, ex-husbands or even their friends, and just listen to them express their grievances against them, with their mouths shut, and just listen. And then after the conversation, they refuse to stop doing what's pissing everyone off, and turning everyone away from them.
Instead, most women agree to talk so they can find some angle to work more manipulations of everyone's feelings to her own end.
That's what it appears she's doing in this interview.
Personally, I really don't care about her family problems. My issue is that there's an epidemic of women doing this that is destroying families, destroying husbands, destroying the children and literally, destroying our country.
There is no getting along with women today ...zero.
This interview is a textbook example of how women can make themselves look like sweet little angels, when truthfully, back at their homes, they're hideous monsters.
Sorry for the long rant, but I've had women do these same things to me. Not just girlfriends, but family, so called friends, female apartment managers, classmates, etc. It's really sad how mean and vicious women are today.

@@Mitzi73 Yeah, I know not all women are not that bad. I just can't seem to find one that isn't LOL. I'm just grateful that so far I haven't fathered any children with them, or married any of them. Men are doing some horrific things to women too.
It seems like at least 90% of the people in the United States today are not dating material, much less marriage material.
Just that today, women are getting a free pass on it. Contrary to what Lita said, for a court to side with the father like that, he must have some damaging evidence against her, aside from the testimony from their two boys.
I also believe the psychiatric medical field is out of control in our country.
Lita doesn't come across like she has mental problems.
She comes across like a narcissistic sociopath. I know many people will say those things are mental illnesses. I don't agree with that. I think those are personality traits that people who are evil and wicked tend to have. She's just an evil woman.
When you've been around enough people who have real mental illnesses, you start to see they put out this vibe and aura that reveals it, just like homosexuals come across to heterosexuals, and in reverse, homosexuals see the heterosexual vibe heteros have.
Lita does not have that mentally ill, deranged look or aura about her. She seems very emotionally stable.
IMO, the only thing that will fix Lita, and others like her is corporal punishment. She needs to get caned like they do in Singapore. It will knock the stupid out of her. ...just my very humble, but very offensive opinion. LOL

I'm not saying she's telling the truth but this is Family Court and not Criminal Court. It's a whole different ballgame and you feel like your civil rights are being violated because they are. The courts come to decisions that don't make sense and you don't get reasons. It is a messed up system.

Usually the court system will side with the mother unless there are problems with the mother that can be detrimental to the children. Either, she has a drug/alcohol problem or just walked away from parental rights.
No. Not at all. Look into it further. The father moved them to the middle of nowhere with sketchy courts.
What Jim did is classic spousal abuse. He got her when she was still vulnerable from her mom’s death, he isolated her on a remote island, wouldn’t let her have any contact with former friends, was a control freak. Jim has serious issues. Anybody saying it’s all on Lita has never been through or seen anybody whose been a victim of spousal abuse.
She definitely shouldn't be blaming him 100%

I don't know how this is a worldwide problem. In the United States, the problem is Judges discriminating against fathers giving the children over to the adulterous, crack smoking mother. It is true, many people, both men and women going through divorces use the children as weapons against the other. But that's not true for every situation. Until Lita presents court documents, filings and other evidence that proves she's being discriminated against by the courts, then her explanations are suspect.
Perhaps her ex is really that wealthy and that well connected. Perhaps her story is true. But the courts are so biased against men today, combined with her ridiculous & laughable statement that world wide the courts are discriminating against women ... I have a hard time believing she's an innocent sweet little thing being picked on by her ex and the judge.
Oh, by the way. I thought the United States Congress has some big issue about separating children from their parents. Where are the open borders Democrats on this. Where's AOC?

I think that Lita probably had an alcohol or substance abuse (or psychological) problem, and that evidence was shown to the court. The vast majority of custody cases have the kids go to the Mom, not the Dad UNLESS child abuse or substance abuse issues can be proven. Her story makes no sense,

I enjoy Lita's music it is so nostalgic of the 80's which was my favorite time. I want to like her but it does not look good for her after watching this interview. I could be wrong and hope things work out for the best for everyone
We're of course only hearing one side of the story..and if all of what Lita was saying was true...wouldn't that be ammo in the courts? Usually its the mother that gets all the rights. Disproportionately. And for fans of Lita...we're probably siding with her..not knowing the facts...

FYI. That's part of why you should look at how the guy you're dating interacts with his family, especially the women, cause it's how he treats women he loves. (And vice-versa, for the opposite sex.) Also, Lita was away on tour a good bit and more successful than him. A lot of men can't deal with that, so they channel their hurt into anger. It makes them feel more masculine, subconsciously. Perhaps this is part of why Ethan Hawke and Gavin Rossdale cheated on their more successful spouses, as a way to feel more masculine and get back at them--not on a conscious level, of course. I'm not male-bashing; I've just seen it happen before, and, of course, as a woman, I'm more with familiar with how men act in relationships.
